As a vicious murderer makes his way to Chicago, leaving a trail of mutilated and cannibalized corpses in his wake, Abraham Stroud is the only investigator willing to face the possibility that the killer is a werewolf.
Characters were not very believable. I didn’t like that the main character always had a solution. He has his own personal jet, and he fires his helicopter pilot, and don’t worry because he knows how to fly the copter. How convenient…
The dialect also didn’t mesh with me. This is all my opinion which means absolutely nothing.
For a 90’s werewolf book it felt more like late 70’s early 80’s b rated horror.
Not bad, it’s palatable but not my favorite in the werewolf genre…
this book is as good as any of his others. i love the whole series and this campy classic horror sci fi is a msut read for werewolf fans. nicely written, a little slow in spots, overall really good.
2.5 Stars. This is one of those "so bad it's good" titles. Some of the supernatural / occult mythology was pretty cool and the horror elements were quite effective. However, the lead character is one of the most contrived and cliched heros I've ever come across. In fact, he is so ridiculous that it actually elevates the weak plot. This book pretty much sucks but I sort of had fun with it. I understand it is the middle piece of a trilogy. I will be finishing the series.
