Speculations on the future, written ~2003 by a smart NASA lecturer dude. The cover photo is his step-daughter (allegedly, an aspiring model/fashionista). Appears to be self-published (or very small press published) judging from cover and inside layout... and a plethora of exclamation marks and parenthetical asides.
It wasn't terrible, and had a wee bit of food for thought. The author speculates on a few intriguing topics (privacy, and the years it takes to get new tech ideas to the masses), and some that were sleep-inducing.
Overall, it feels pretty out of date now -- and probably did so a year after it was published. Compact Discs and StarRotor engines, anyone? But he got a few things right, including prevalence/importance of WiFi.
VERDICT: 2 stars (1 for SOME good content, 0.5 for getting published, 0.5 for having a cool step-kid). Probably 3+ stars when published in 2003, if you don't discriminate against self-published (?) books.
