This book is truly amazing. I've done yoga for years now, every once in awhile, but I've had a hard time deepening my practice. I'm very flexible, but there's some things bigger bodies can't as easily do. Garcia's book offers dozens of modifications for fat women to better their practice of yoga. In a positive writing style focused on solutions and encouragement, I became more confident. The book is full of pictures and the instructions are clear and cross-referenced. The book even includes routines and instructions for building a sequence that fits your needs best.

I'm new to yoga and plus sized. I ordered a bunch of dvds from my library, so I could buy my favorite. I found this book after--no dvd though. still helpful as I have found the modifications more applicable to me than the easy or beginner yoga dvds.

A beautiful introduction to the practice of yoga for body types that have traditionally been marginalized. Megan helps you to discover the strength within your own body- by providing participants with a language of affirmation rather than negation. The only downside is the absence of a supporting DVD.

I really enjoyed seeing the author in the asanas. I liked the color photos and the adjustments were helpful. I think that this book might not be as helpful if you are a more advanced big bodied yogi. I think that it's a great intro to basics and general modifications. Paired with her Just My Size yoga DVD and it should be helpful for beginning to intermediate yoga students.

Though I'm not exactly plus-sized, i have a serious lack of flexibility so I was hoping that the modified poses would be easier for me to follow. Well some of the advice was useful but the plus-sized stuff doesn't really apply. The pictures and instructions are really clear so that's great too.

It's nice to see a yogi who is not reed-thin, yet flexible and strong. Modifications for the more challenging poses allow you to gain the same benefits. This book is good for the beginner as well as the more experienced practitioner.

Excellent book for yoga practice for women of size, or anyone with special physical constraints who still wishes to learn and practice yoga.

This books is an open invitation for women with non-yoga bodies to enjoy yoga in an accepting and non-judgemental way.
