Loved the TV adaptation and picked this up while waiting for the next season to air. It's a nice story, written in the same spirit as the original. Geralt can't seem to find proper employment and travels from place to place. Some kind of mystery going on in the background. The characters are very vivid and it is written very well. Could have used a touch more gore and monster slaying, but I am thankful to dive back into the story anyway. Cover art is amazing!
Why didn’t I even know of this last year. This was such a huge surprise when I stumbled upon this today. Always a joy to read more Witcher lore. Fading Memories #1 is definitely not Paul Tobin but it reminded me so much of the stories from the books. Bartosz Sztybor eps in to write this arc and I appreciate the change. Amad Mir’s art is oddly okayish, sometimes feels fresh but other times it feels merely serviceable. Fading Memories is off to any good start and I am eager to read the rest. If you craving for more Witcher, this one’s for you.
The Witcher is roaming the continent taking on contracts and generally Witchering. Geralt takes an unusual contract to help a fisherman get his catch of the day. The artwork here was very close the artwork of the Witcher 3, which I loved. The plot to this one was gripping and typical Witcher - monsters are everywhere, even in the unlikeliest of places, and the concept of evil is difficult to pin down. Rating: 4/5 stars
