I will start out by admitting being an Inmon fanboy. Whether it is the Middle Falls books, or Chronicles of Altor post apocalyptic stories, I anxiously await his next book release. This latest Alex Hawk book is as good as all those that came before. Alex and his friends and family continue to prepare Kragdon-ah for the challenges that lay ahead by training an Army. As usual they meet all of the challenges, but not without paying a cost. This will have you waiting anxiously for the next and final? installment of the series.

There is still danger and death in this primitive world. The return of a war memento from the past spells, bad news for everyone.

At this point: 1. Shawn Inmon has saved me for not achieving my reading challenge because I can’t just stop reading anything he puts into this world. 2. I’m 1000% sure that he’s capable of doing a bad story. I’ll be patiently waiting for the next delivery and meanwhile I’ll go back to my lovely middle falls time travel journey.
Thank you so much for bringing all this stories to my life, each one has make me deeply happy and have accompanied me thru moments where I truly needed to take my brain out of everything that’s happening around me. Thanks Shawn!
I had forgotten how much I loved this series. Alex is now older and wiser, and still going out (albeit reluctantly) to fix the world and save everyone from the enemy, the Northmen. I can't figure out if these guys are Scottish (long red beards and fierce in battle) or if they're just Canadian. Either way, they are a formidable enemy. I loved the way we got to meet the old friends along the way. I didn't remember Pictin, but what a guy!
Johnathan McClain is the one that really made this series so enjoyable for me. Such a talented narrator.
Adventures maturing with the characters. Another classic tale in this saga. An entertaining and easy read, this one feels like we’ve been eased into a false sense of security in what maybe the penultimate book of the series. What comes next maybe much more fast-paced and intense – looking forward to that also! Highly recommend this book.
What a talented and prolific author Shawn Inmon. The way the weaves two of his book series together his masterful. Shawn creates a beautiful world get is fraught with danger and excitement. Shawn Inmon has become my favorite author, replacing Stephen King!
One book to go. Shawn Inmon, to this point, writes three very different series that are all deeply interconnected, and the payoff is about to happen. I won’t pretend the Alex Hawk series is my favorite of Shawn Inmon’s, but that’s only because the quality is so very high across the board.
Another awesome Alex Hawk story! It was great being back in Kragdon-ah and seeing Manta-ak become older and wiser. It had its emotional moments, but I love the way the series is headed. I highly recommend it, and can't wait for Battle for Kragdon-ah!
Another gripping book to add to this series. With twists and expected turns throughout, I was kept entertained whilst feeling like I sitting alongside Alex in his adventures. Can't wait for the next book!!
Shawn never fails to pull you in and keep you enthralled from start to finish. Absolutely brilliant storyline, love the questions that are building as we go. Can’t wait to read the next book.
Alex and his family face growing pains, with an unwelcome guest in the form of STAMA. But at the same time, a near-legendary fighting force is developed to benefit all of Kragdn-ah. More great adventures. A Bravo!
Well, unfortunately, I've finished reading this book, now I have to wait for book #9 to have more adventures in Kragdon-ah. This book made me laugh out loud more than once, with Monda-ak doing what all dogs do, Pass gas. If you are a dog owner, you know just what I mean, but can you imagine a 300 pound dog doing that???? Please leave the door open or leave the room. I laughed out loud! Then all those cliff hangers with a giant bird to deal with? Alex always has a plan, this time with the help of a woman no less. I was happy to see them finally get home for some needed rest, what, you want me to what? I just got home and now another adventure already???? Poor thing feeling his age, and all his battle weary bones could do was cry foul. Imaging his shock when he found out his 21st century body and problems were a real problem, and here in Kragdon-ah, no treatments for what ails you. Good thing he saved his future friend and brought him back with the gang. Then I cried, because the future/past was found and created major problems. I don't like it when death takes good friends too soon, and that is just what happened. But wait, Alex you will soon be able to move on with your training plans, help is on the way. OK, foul, too many spoilers. Mr. Inmon please Save Alex Hawk for many more adventures, he's gonna be a oops, another spoiler coming out of my mouth. I won't say another word. Please Kragdon-ah needs to continue, we all love Alex and Amy and Sanda, and Monda-ak. We want more please. ASAP!
