Violet Chase has always been off limits. The girl I wanted...but could never have.

In my teens, her father warned me to keep my hands to myself. Boys like me, don’t get girls like her. His family saved me, and I owed them. Her brothers, my best friends, made it clear where I stood - below them.

We had one stolen moment of passion, then I ran. That was fourteen years ago, and I’ve regretted it ever since. Now, she’s back in London, but life for both us is very different. Her past decade has been filled with lies - that she thought were true. The last place she ever expected to return to was here, begging her family for help.

As my career blossoms, my world darkens. Whether being a lawyer for a mafia don was a wise move remains to be seen. A booming bank account is accompanied by an ever-increasing target on my back. External pressures pull in all directions while my heart knows what it wants. It always has. Violet.

The question is, can we navigate the challenges to be together? Or once again, will we both run?

This was a horrible way to start the Year.
Violet Chase leaves Britain for 14 Years to live happily ever after, with a married asshole. What she btw didn’t notice for all these years, and it’s not even like it happens in the 18th century, Google does exist. She finds out and goes back home to her family which she ghoested for over a decade, because why not and hooks up with her brother’s best friend (he is furious about all of it, seemingly his only character attribute).
Her ex, the father of the baby she is pregnant with nearly kills her, so she runs away again to become a stripper. Wtf. It’s not even like she’s young and dumb. She is in her thirties, but hasn’t worked a day in her life, stopped studying at uni (because of the married dude who’s in also involved in organised crime) and now is pregnant with the dude who tried to kill her. This book might have simply not been for me, but I prefer my MCs with an IQ over room temperature.
At the club she works in she meets a guy with a dead sister who is completely opposed to sex work, but does nothing except rat her out to her brothers. Then he gives her a speech how shitty it all is and how she should just give up control, so she does. Happy ever after. Or something along those lines. Because the her dad decides to basically sell her off. I will forgive the lack of character, because of the severe daddy issues this girl must have, but this was still horrendous.

Plot: ⭐️
Smut: ⭐️- boring
Characters: ⭐️- more boring
Writing: ⭐️⭐️- the most boring
My opinion: ⭐️
Chemistry/ Romance: ⭐️- NOOOO
I don’t like to give 1 star reviews but this one really earned it

Started reading because of a Tik Tok, it did not live up to the hype at all 🤷‍♀️ the plot felt poorly written to me and predictable and the flow was just not flowing well at all. The main characters just kept on getting on my nerves as well.

Harrison (The Level #1)

By: V.R. Tennent

ARC Review

5 stars

Harrison is the “almost bad boy” that you didn’t know you needed in your life. He was essentially orphaned as a young child, his mother dying, and not knowing who his real father is, he was sent through the child care services system, with nothing working out due to his attitude until he reaches what the system considers “the end of the line”, he would be stuck there whether he behaved or not. The man who abandoned Harrison on the side of the road tied up, he is the man who has been the villain in Harrison’s story since he was young, the man who took his mom from him, and made her do things that nobody should have to do. The Chase family ended up finding Harrison on the side of the road and rescuing him, Mr. Chase, the father continues to visit Harrison, as he sees promise in the young boy after his two sons find him on the side of the road. Eventually Mr. Chase is bringing his sons to visit Harrison and then eventually bringing Harrison to the house, where he meets Violet.

From day one, Harrison and Violet have a connection unlike any other, but she is off limits. He is made aware of this to the extreme, and Violet is made aware as well, that Harrison is off limits. This doesn’t stop the two from becoming intimate right after Violet turns 18. Harrison panics and goes radio silent and before you know it Violet has left the house and ends up meeting and falling in love with Aiden, who she then follows all the way from London to Chicago to start a life with him.

It isn’t until 14 years later while watching the new Violet learns that she has been the other woman for all this time, and Aiden has a wife and two boys. She runs away, back to what was once her home in London, and right back into the arms of the boy who stole her heart many years ago, back to the boy, who is very much all man now. But, Violet is keeping a secret that will upend everyone’s lives around her. She is carrying the child of the man she ran from. She is not welcomed back with open arms either, and takes to working at a gentleman’s club to earn a living, until Harrison finds her there and drags her bratty self back to reality. Her brothers are not happy to see her, and Harrison is hesitant to open his arms again, knowing that the woman standing before him holds his heart and she is strictly off limits.

What they don’t know is that Aiden will follow Violet back to London, and everyone tries to do everything in their power to protect her and the baby once they find out who Aiden truly is. He is working with Violet’s father, a man who refuses to do right by his daughter, and only what is best for his business, and promises her back to Aiden to marry him and return back to Chicago. Harrison refuses to allow this to happen after Aiden shows up at his door and violently attacks the woman he loves, despite knowing she is also carrying his child. Harrison and Violet’s brothers, along with a few of their friends to keep Violet safe until the threat of Aiden and her father can subside some.

This was a phenomenal book, and is very different from the usual mafia romances you read. Harrison isn’t actually “in” the mafia, he just works with/for some of them as a lawyer. From day one, despite his fear and trepidation, you can very much tell what Violet means to him and that once he can get past all the roadblocks, he will stop at no end to be with her and raise her baby as his own. I cannot wait until the next book in the series! Something about the “lost, but found again love” just does it for me. Violet and Harrison’s story is beyond beautiful.

This book I got as an ARC read. This is my honest review of Harrison.

I really enjoyed this story called Harrison By Author V.R. Tennent. This is my my book by her, I have to say I can't wait to read more from this series called The Level. This story is well written and has a little bit of everything for everyone. It has good characters, and they are well written and so relatable. Some characters will make you wanna scream with how crappy they treat others, but most of them you'll adore and love reading about. It has crime and action, and it has heartache but also loving and tender moments. One thing I also love from this story is the spice. It's the spice for me.

The characters Violet & Harrison, they seem so perfect for each other. Violet has had bad issues over the years with what she has caught her father doing. From having a perfect night with her the love of life to him walking away. Then, years later, he found out another man lied to her. All the waste in her life. She finds out so much after moving back home and trying to talk to her brothers and Harrison.

Harrison has always had it tough and had help from Voliets father. But that help has always come with a price.

Read & find out what happens between Harrison and Violet. Read about all the spicy scenes and the action with the mob issues and finding out all the issues that happen inside the book Harrison.

This book won't disappoint, so pre-order your copy now. This book drops October 10th.

Vigilante Justice, Forbidden love, Best Friends Little sister, Pregnancy, and British Lawyers... I will take those always please and thank you!

Harrison is the first book in this series and man did V.R. Tennett start it off amazingly. She pulls you right into this forbidden love story right away. You will not want to put it down. The story line and characters development are on point. The journey of Harrison and Violet is full of twist and turns, having you not know if you want to scream or pull your hair out.

Harrison, the MMC, is fully swoon worthy in the way he bends over backwards to take care of Violet, the FMC. She will also bend over backwards for the people she loves and cares for.

I cannot wait to see what V.R. comes up with for the next book in this series.

I received this book as an ARC, and I am leaving this review willingly.

In true VR fashion I devoured this book, the first in her new series The Level you will fall in love with these boys and their questionable vigilante ways they are the grey alpha males who you would be happy to bring to family dinners.

Violet leaves after she has her heart broken at 18 and falls into the arms of someone who she thinks adores her but in doing so she breaks the bond with her brothers and the rest of the family including Harrison the boy who has a traumatic past and was saved by the family and who Violet can’t seem to forget. But after 10 years Violet’s world comes crashing down around her and the only people she can run to are her brothers and Harrison. And this time Harrison is determined not to let her get away from him again even if it means the relationship between him and her brothers is strained or the fact that she is pregnant with another man’s child he wants all of her.

VR will always keep you turning the pages well into the night giving you so much to think about intertwining characters from previous books. You don’t need to have read her other books to enjoy this but I will recommend you do just because they are amazing!

Wow this book sucked me right in! This is a mafia romance but it’s not to much mafia that it overpowers the romance/smut of the story.I will warn you will not want to put this book down!!!

WOW, what a story!

This book totally sucked me in, and it was really hard to put down. Adulting sucks especially when you are reading a book that's as good as this was.
The plot in this book is brilliant, and it's perfectly written, and the attention to detail is absolutely spot on. There are a lot of twists and turns that will have you second guessing, but it all comes together beautifully.
I loved Harrison he's the perfect book boyfriend. We all wish we had for real🤣
Violet just wants to be loved and likes to run when the going gets tough. She is the forbidden love that Harrison has always wanted but couldn't have.
I don't like to give spoilers away, go in blind, download this book, I would definitely recommend it is certainly one of my favourites and it's worthy of way more than ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ stars the spice is good too.

Another fantastic read by VR Tennent, Thank you 😘
I can't wait to read more about the boys that work at The Level. ❤️

Well well well, Harrison and Violet . Can we just pause n say there is something about a man when he is taking care of his woman or a woman in his life n bends over backwards to make her happy. Well Harrison is in that category and is leading the pack. I can't say much on this story without giving away the plot line. I'm bad sometimes and i end up doing it. But hell this book had me go through some emotions alright. And it was all so worth it. Violet oh my violet my heart was in pain reading how she has been dealing with life and then comes out man Harrison who is just damm fine.
This man knows how to take charge and bring fire out like no other and burn everything that stands in his way.
Don't miss out on this beautiful story. Worth the wait!!

I've read this twice now. And I still bloody love it.
Harrison is the man you really could take home and meet your parents (excuse the level stuff) but he is so loving, caring, thoughtful and possessive and oh so swoony. A swoony and beautiful man that wears a suit! I want one.
Violet this girl has my heart. What a life she had. She deserves all the goodness and happiness.
Yet again VR Tennent has created a world that believable and realistic. And likeable characters that you need to know more about. I'm looking forward to the rest of the series and seeing what the men of the level are all about!

Childhood love, a contemporary romance with all the challenges of the brothers’ charity case friend and forbidden sister. Complicated not just for their impermissible romance but also the machinations of a business empire, family patriarch and mafia connections.

Harrison and Violet’s story was both sweet and fraught with challenge among a cast of side characters against their fated love and a sinister twist sub arc. I enjoyed the characters, the good and evil (yes, there was an hint of melodrama) and their ties and conflicts within to the larger storyline. The story felt part of a bigger world and seemingly complex but also predictable. The flow was progressive though slow, a lot of explaining of activity rather than experiencing its transpiring.

Overall, I enjoyed the story, loved the characters, just felt some cumbersomeness with his execution.

Yet another book by V.R Tennent I couldn't put down - this one making me lose a few precious hours of sleep because it literally had me in ch*kehold the entire time!!! And honestly I should have seen that coming because I was sucked in, in the first two pages and I was fully invested. It was an amazing start to a new series and I cannot wait to see what happens next.

Violet Chase has been away from her home and family for over a decade, living in bliss with a man she was madly in love with until her life comes crashing down and she learns that everything shes known for most of her adult life has been a lie. Now she finds her self alone and running to the arms of her family that she hasnt seen since she ran away but to her declining luck she first runs into the man who broke her heart and caused her to leave home all those years ago. Harrison Waite, was not only her brothers best friend and law partner but also her first crush and the boy who was always off limits and forbidden, now he was standing in front of her and he was all grown up.

Harrison Waite is a very successful lawyer with a few morally gray dealings on the side. He runs in circles with the mafia and other very powerful men. But seeing Violet Chase in front of him again after all these years was enough to bring him to his knees. She was always off limits and the one that got away weather he wanted to admit it or not.

"Harry," I mumble against his lips, "this isn't a good idea."
"We've never been a good idea," he replies, "but I knew from the moment
you arrived back, that you and I would end up here. You're like a f*cking
magnet, calling me. You always have been. Over the years, no one has ever come close"

This had so many twists and turns I didnt see coming and I was genuinely on the edge of my seat the entire time. I loved this story and the character development was AMAZING! The plot line was absolutely phenomenal, I cannot recommend this enough! Thank you to V.R Tennent for an eARC in exchange for an honest review.

WOW, this is VR Tennent at her very best she has weaved a wonderful web of secrets, lies and deceit. She captivated me from the very first page.

Harrison & Violets journey to HEA was full of spicy twists and gripping turns that kept me captivated from start to finish.

Harrison was born to a crack w***e mother & never knew where his next meal was coming from. He's thrown himself into working hard & turned his life around.
Now he's s one of London most successful lawyers. He's kind, compassionate, loving, caring, sensitive. He's also morally grey ......
Oh & he wears a suit ~ Equaling THE perfect book boyfriend !!

Harrison is loyal to the Chase family who found & rescued him saving his life at eight years old.
He's welcomed into their family but he has rules to follow, he's never allowed to forget where he came from.
His loyalty is tested when he falls in love with Violet, he’s warned she’s ‘off limits’ !!
Harrison has been in love with Violet since they was teenagers, she has always held a special place in his heart but she's forbidden.

The connection between is undeniable, and the sparks fly from the pages. They’ve tried to resist each other, stealing glances when they thought nobody was looking. They try to resist each other but end up sharing one moment of passion before going their separate ways.

Harrison was Violets teen crush; her brothers best friend. He was always there for her & made her feel safe. So when she returns from Chicago, 14 years later with a broken heart, Harry is the person she turns to.

Edward chase rules over his family with an iron fist, he's vicious. A terrifying, dangerous man who will punish those who don't conform to his rules !!

Harrison is such a beautiful, angsty romance . A sinfully addictive read that had darker elements to it & I absolutely loved it !!

Harrison & Violet’s journey shows you have to make peace with a lot in your life to allow yourself the happiness and love you deserve.

Wow. A world and journey full of twists, turns, surprises, screaming, pulling your hair, screaming in frustration, squealing in happiness and excitement and finding yourself in a position to just stare at the wall in front of you, completely and utterly speechless... all summarised in one word. Wow. Tennent outdid herself here and I honestly cannot wait for her next book to come out. The plot was so freakin strong, well strung together, intricately explained and so beautifully constructed for us to see that it was impossible for me not to give this book its deserved full rating. I wasn't even 6% into the book when I knew I would be loving this book, and once again, my gut was happy to be proven right. Tennent's characters are so well planned out, with such strong characters that you possibly cannot find any flaws. The villains are made sure to be portrayed in such a way where you would want to fly to Spain and personally be the Aiden to Tennent. (😂😂😂. You'll understand this reference after you read the book.) The way Violet's world transitions in front of her, the way pieces start to unfold, art materializes out of thin air and slowly starts constructing a picture for her which she later shows to her real family and asks for help? Fabulously done. I cannot explain in much more better ways but one thing is for sure, I cannot love Harrison and Violet more, and I cannot wait for Damon's book to come out.

If you all love hot shot lawyers who are also mafia lords, and one of the strongest and hottest gang in all of the country, people who have rough pasts, painful lives but hot burning passion of love rushing within their veins where they leave no stone upturned to form a protective circle around the women that they love? If you love books where the most sexiest of gangs get together to overthrow the biggest crime lord and protect their girl in return? If you want a book with the purest of loves gliding across the pages as they navigate through life and embark on the riskiest but the hottest of adventures just to put crime lords behind bars and themselves to finally get closure in the end, in so many ways? Tennent is your woman and Harrison is your book. Without a shadow of a doubt. Loved loved loved this masterpiece.

It's been a while since I read a Mafia book, and this did not disappoint. It had some of my favourite tropes, too.

When Harrison was left alone after his mum died, he's found by 2 brothers, who got their dad to come help, was this the best thing for Harrison, or was it the worst??? He is passed from home to home, believing that love isn't for him. At the last home he ends up at, Edward Chase starts visiting Harrison regularly, introducing him to his 2 sons who rescued him that dreadful day. The 3 boys form a close bond and ultimately end up best friends, all studying law and working/owning a company together. Harrison is always at the top of his game and is the lawyer everyone wants to be. Violet was the sister, and Harrison was warned against forming any kind of relationship with her. If he dared, break the rules... he would pay the price. Violet notices Harrison, the 1st time she meets him, and when she finally reaches 18, he overstep the line, he runs, leaving her broken hearted and making a rash decision that will affect her life for the next decade. She returns home 13 yrs later and bumps into the one man she didn't want to see. Harrison takes her in as her brothers aren't home and sparks fly yet again, like before, Harrison flees, leaving Violet to do the same... When she is finally found, things go from bad to worse for Violet when her past catches up with her. She is forced to return home and is controlled by her 'father' despite several attempts to escape her fathers clutches, she is forced into an arranged marriage with the devil Aiden himself, will Harrison be able to step up and rescue her from the man who held her captive for 13 yrs, will he be able to remove her from her evil father's grasp, will they ever be able to make a go of their relationship or was it always doomed from the start?

Harrison

⭐⭐⭐⭐
🌶️🌶️
Quote - "I want to take you to bed every night. I want to get down on one knee and ask you to be my forever. I want to have a home with you. I want to call this amazing little human you're growing mine"

This story is a whirlwind of emotions!! When I thought things were finally settling down, another curve ball was introduced 😂

Harrison became part of the chase family when violet's father saw potential in Harrison when he was just a young boy. A boy who lost everything and needed guidance in the big bad world. Harrison struggled with anger from an early age but then Mr. Chase saw great potential in Harrison but not in the way a 'father figure' should see potential in someone. Harrison's early years were beyond a struggle for him, his mother tried her best with the resources they had but in the end Harrison was left in a ditch literally to fend for himself.

Violet was the only daughter in the chase family which naturally made her off limits to any boys including Harrison. Violet took an interest in Harrison from their first meeting, he was her first ever crush and the only boy who stole her heart. She was only 18 but she knew who she wanted but things don't always work out the way you want them too.

When Harrison and violet see each other again after so many years apart they can't ignore the sparks that fly between them however things aren't as smooth as they both wished it was. Brotherly bonds are tested, rules are broken and unwanted ex's appear. Will violet and Harrison survive the ride??

With family ties crumbled and feelings in the mix can Harrison finally claim violet as his... or will past destruction tear everything apart??
Guess you'll need to read the book and find out 😏

Reccomend!! 🖤🖤

“Where we start in life is not a roadmap to where we end up.”

The number of highlights and annotations I have from this book is unreal. Easily 1/3 of the text is lit up in various colors🤣 no shame here for being an analytical and emotional reader!
Victoria, as usual, maintains a perfect balance of plot and “other stuff” - iykyk 😜 -this is technically considered mafia romance and I didn’t feel it was overpowering, or took away, from the romance or premise of the story. Like I said, perfect balance. All was right in the world once I finished Harrison but now I’m trying to figure out what to do with my life now that it’s over 🤣
Harry was the perfect combination of the most favored qualities of Victoria’s previous MMCs from other books, and she nailed it. If you’ve been around for a bit, you’ll know I read her Under The Sun duet over the summer, and I absolutely adored the MMC, Max!
Harrison had everything that I loved about Max but had his own flair and charisma that made him unique. I LOVED this man, even when I was yelling, “What are you thinking/doing?!” at my kindle while reading🙈😅

Violet was a fantastic FMC- she was definitely a bit different than I expected but not in a negative aspect. She ultimately was just in survival mode for a solid chunk of the book- understandably so. But I was so happy once I saw her spunky, sassy and assertive side come out.
She was the perfect yin to Harrison’s yang. Different in just the perfect and precise ways to complement one another; they filled in where the other faltered.

*Harrison is book one of The Level series and can be read as such, or you can read Locked prior as there are some minor character crossovers*

Thank you so much, Victoria! I’ve found my newest book husband 🫶🏼
Congratulations on another amazing story🥳

ARC Review of Harrison by V.R. Tennant
* * * * *
A fantastic start to this series that has you demanding to see what happens next! It's already filled with drama, betrayal, abusive controlling men, awesome women, baby cuteness and steamy goodness!

Violet was running away...again.
Back when she was young and silly, she fell for a man she thought she knew.
Turns out, she did not know him that well at all.
After thirtheen years of her life wasted, she runs back to her brothers in hope they can help and forgive her, only to run into the arms of the man who broke her heart fourteen years ago.
Harrison is not going to let her go that easily, and it appears that they have all been misled.
Though it appears running away is not so easy, and the men running the show behind the curtains is pulling the strings again.
Harrison and Violet may not get their happily every after, but they are damn willing to try.

A really great read that has you gasping when the shtichk hits the fan. Betrayals from people who should protect you, questionable trust, an awesome new bestie who I am hoping gets her own story, and a love that finally is being faced after fourteen years of silence.
THERE IS SO MUCH IN THIS BOOK I WISH I COULD GO ON MORE DETAIL FOR, BUT MY MOUTH IS SEALED!
What will happen next in the series? Cannot wait to see!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5/5

I really enjoyed this book, especially Harrison.. even when he needed to get his sh** together 😂

This is the first book in this series, and is an interesting forbidden love story that will suck you in. Violet has been through it. After leaving her family over a decade ago, she finds herself back with those she left and carrying hurt and secrets. To say her family was not happy with her because of the lies they had been told, is an understatement. Of course, no matter what though.. he brothers will be there for her. It just may take some time.

Harrison helps her in any way he can, but he has a tendency to push her away when they become close. It had happened before she left her family - and in turn, left her vulnerable and heartbroken.

Violet ends up in the middle of fight for her freedom after being betrayed and looks for the help of Harrison and her brothers to get her out of it.

Harrison is a morally grey character who has always had love in his heart for Violet. But he was always told she was off limits. He puts his life on the line to protect her in any way, and be there for her in any capacity.

I devoured this book in a day. Any chance I had, I was reading. Their story is beautiful and while heartbreaking at times, is a true testament to love. No matter how many years they’ve been a part.

Harrison is the first book in The Level Series, which is a series of interconnected standalone novels. This book is a contemporary, brothers best friend, forbidden, second chance, mafia romance with romantic suspense, secrets, lies, steam, intrigue, surprises, and so much more.

Violet is slapped in the face with some harsh realities and needs to escape her current situation. She ends up on her brothers’ door steps in need of help after over ten years of not speaking to or seeing her family. That is where Harrison, who just so happens to be business partners with her brothers, finds her. These two have a history, but the romance they both want is highly forbidden.

This is a fantastic book that I honestly could not get enough of. Sparks fly when Violet and Harrison are together, yet there is a metric ton of obstacles standing in the way of them being together, the three biggest being her father and brothers.

I loved the writing, pace, and flow of the storyline, as well as the storytelling, character development, relationship development, and world building. There was not a single thing that I didn’t absolutely love about this book. I would definitely highly recommend it and am super excited for the next book in the series.

Harrison 📚 Vr Tennent
5 ⭐️ 3 🌶️

🥃 forbidden
☕️ second chance
🥃 mafia
☕️ childhood crush
🥃 pregnancy
☕️ brothers best friend

“No one has ever come close. Violet Chase took up residence in my heart with her shy glances and sarcastic comments.”

This book is so well done, all the different twists and turns had me on the edge of my chair the entire time. The chemistry between violet and Harrison is one of my favorite things, but not just that, it’s how he loves her, that makes me swoon.
First off we have technically a second chance and then you add in forbidden and brothers best friend. Sign me up, this whole story is beautifully done, you get so many different elements tied up in a gorgeous book.

Violet is the women who runs, and is blinded by heart break she can’t see what’s right in front of her. She left her family for 14 years , thinking she was in control.

Harrison is the man who was taught he is nothing but a pawn, and he will only be just that. Even at the top of his game, and the top of his career he can’t have the one thing he wants.

So what happens when what you want and what you love is off limits , and so happens to comes back in your life?

*Check your trigger warnings*

It's a dark, mafiaesque, contemporary romance filled with violence and drugs and all the dirty dealings of a dark underworld. This is my first read from V.R. Tennent and Harrison is the first book in The Level series, 3 interconnected standalones.

“Be the last and only man I kiss from this day forward because I’m telling you now, this is it for me. You are everything I’ll ever need. There will only ever be you.”
My favorite quote from this angsty, slow burn read.

Violet, our MFC, is 30ish and slightly stunted in her maturity. She is mildly annoying at times, but I learned to love her. Now Harrison, our MMC, I loved from the get-go! I wanted to know everything about him.
These two are supposed to be off limits to each other, but you know how that goes 😉. They manage to find their way with a whole lot of internal and external turmoil. It had me on the edge of my seat at times and then kinda pulling out my hair at others, but in the end, I was happy. The spice when it happened was good, I just wish there was a little more of it.

I definitely recommend and I can't wait to read about the rest of our morally grey boys!

Harrison by VR Tennent is book one in The Level Series, what an amazing book! This is a mafia romance with twists and turns, action, suspense and drama. Don’t even get me started on great the spice was done. This book was amazing from start to finish; I didn’t want to put my kindle down. I was so invested in this story. It took me on such an emotional rollercoaster ranging from my heart breaking to anger and wanting to reach through my kindle to shake a few characters to smiling from the sweet moments. I will recommend to check your trigger warnings to be on the safe side. The characters were written so well it was as if I could feel what I was reading. Harrison and Violet complimented each other well in my opinion…they balanced one another. With everything she went through my heart broke for her. But reading Harrison helping and willing to give up everything for her… it glued my cracked heart back together. VR Tennent was a fabulous author and I can’t wait to read more from this series. I highly recommend this book.

I absolutely DEVOURED this book. Put it down only to eat. 😂
If pregnancy is a no with you in books I would suggest skipping this one as it does mention it heavily.
When it rains it pours... and that's definitely true in Violet's case. Her poor heart has been through the ringer. I'm trying to not spoil much but it's so hard! I want to scream and shout about it lol her brothers...I'm a only child and I'm not sure if I want to be her with her big brothers or her best friend Samantha 👀 and please someone tell me that we get a book on Samantha too?!🤞🏻
Harrison is a man who fights for what/who he wants. No matter the cost of himself. He will and has shown up when nobody else did. He's definitely booktok worthy in my opinion.
If you're second guessing if you should read this, the answer is yes you should. You see relationship building between Violet and her brothers, her brothers and Harrison, Violet making friends, and even her relationship with her mother evolve.

What a wild ride! My first book by VR Tennent. It had all the feels a book needs. Twists turns and some unexpected moments.

“Don’t say that. You’re so much more than your past.”

This was definitely a book for long lost loves who were forbidden from each other. One time together was all it took for them to be entwined. Harrison and Violet were destined to be together. Though years and countries apart, destined love always find their way back to each other.

“We’ve never been a good idea, but I knew from the moment you arrived back, that you and I would end up here. You’re like a fucking magnet, calling me. You always have been.”

The drama and unexpected moments bring this story together. Harrison had such a soft spot for Violet. Violet finds her strength and stands up for herself. The side characters are all enjoyable and crazy!

What a great first book for me to read. Looking forward to more from this series.

I did read this as an ARC for my honest review.

ARC review for honest review

I would give it a 3.5 stars so I will round it up to 4

Harrison - Even though he is in a questionable business he still has his good nature about him. He even stepped up when another man didn't. Total hottie mafia lawyer and has a tattoo that is holding a voilet rose!! He is just dreamy in every sense.

Violet - I hate that she throws temper tatrums and just takes off and run when things get hard. I love that she finds herself a little more throughout the story and can stand up to her father and brothers.

I was starting to get a little annoyed with the back and forth between the two - I know it was a forbidden romance but it just started to get a little boring.

I wanted more spice but I would rate the spice at a 2.5/3.
