This author is a plastic surgeon who had an ephiphany of sorts realizing that surgery was not the only way to be successful as a plastic surgeon. He turned toward self healing. He still does surgeries but he also gives counsel on other things that could be done instead of surgery being the only answer.

I loved some of his ideas. TBH, there is a ton of information in this one. I feel like a reread is in order. So 4 stars for this one.

I thought this one was a winner. I initially started with audio but purchased the ebook. I found myself highlighting so much information on how to remain the most healthy and functional as I age.

Ideas on science backed nutrition including recipes. Skin care, hair care, reducing stress, exercise and supplements are all discussed.

Dr. Youn and his wife rescue unwanted senior dogs. If you are in the mood for a tear jerker (in a good way) read the last chapter, "What really matters ". Here's a line "When it's my time at last, I hope that after I pass through the veil, I'll find myself walking over a grassy hill and seeing a cadre of familiar furry friends, tongues out and tails wagging…"

DNF - I started this because I want to start taking care of my brain better and managing stress, sleeping better, and generally practicing healthier habits etc. Ever since graduating college I’ve become so forgetful I literally feel like I have early onset dementia. I fell asleep in my apartment with the oven/stove on several times, and fell asleep with the keys in the door to my apartment. Not to mention the several times I lost my wallet JUST THIS WEEKEND AND I WASN’t eveN DRUNK! But this bored me and was too focused on aesthetics so I guess I’ll just go back to doing the crossword and stretching but if anyone has any recommendations for books similar to this (not really concerned about aesthetics, more interested in general brain health and how to feel/function better)

I love Dr. Youn’s YouTube channel. He’s a plastic surgeon, so that is mentioned in the book, but he sees surgery as a last resort. This book focuses on healthy dietary choices, exercise, and other things that contribute to living a healthier lifestyle. It’s not new information, but it is laid out in an accessible and nonjudgmental way. I wish Youn had narrated this himself, but Keong Sim does a fantastic job bringing the doctor’s words to life.

This is a self help book that helps you feel better and look better. Tips on healthy eating, sleeping, meditation, supplements, etc. He is a cosmetic surgeon but says what good does it do to look good if you feel like crap? He gives you ways to look better instead of going under the knife.

I like Dr. Youn’s youtube videos so I bought this book with some skin care products. This was mostly stuff I knew already, but I don’t mind hearing it again plus it was framed in an interesting way. I appreciate his philosophy of using procedures as a last option for skin care.

Anthony Youn is noted for his skill in performing plastic surgeries. It has made him a well-respected media star. But now with the book YOUNGER FOR LIFE, there are even more reasons to appreciate his take on how to live longer and look your best.
There is nothing radical about the approach. It is as common sense as they come, with Youn outlining the ways in which to achieve optimum health and happiness. Youn talks about the ways to keep looking as young as possible. We cannot fight age and what it does to our bodies and skin, but there are ways in which we can keep looking younger through nutrition, sleeping better and generally a better attitude toward it all. He does talk about reversing the aging process. Now of course we cannot start counting backwards each birthday, when it comes to those numbers, but we can fight the battle of aging skin and keeping the body in peak condition, through many methods as outlined by the author.
Diet is one of the biggest ways in which to keep the body active and healthier. He explains what a day of eating should look like, specifying the foods that work for us and those that work against us. There are foods to cool inflammation as he mentions. Anti-inflammation fats, especially Omega-3 fatty acids as found in certain fish like salmon, mackerel, and sardines specifically, assist in the body’s natural defenses against inflammation. There are also foods noted to help with good gut microbes. The doctor talks about a variety of food categories to help with our keeping our body at peak health.
He lists high fiber and resistant starch-rich foods, fermented foods for better microbe anti-inflammatory action, foods high in monounsaturated fatty acids, and foods high in Omega-3 fatty acids. There are also quite a few recipes in the book as well, to assist readers in completing the tasks as outlined by Youn.
The author also looks at other ways to approve appearance such as keeping teeth healthier, whiter, straighter, and more appealing to make one smile more. There is even a chapter on dealing with thinning hair. In essence, the book offers the recipe for better skin, better confidence and attitude, and over-all a more optimistic outlook about oneself. It’s certainly a book that will change one’s opinion about not being able to help themselves. Now they can thanks to YOUNGER FOR LIFE.

Younger for Life. Well, who wouldn’t want to be? In this well-organized guide, Dr. Anthony Youn, a plastic surgeon and social media megastar, shows you how to be Younger for Life. There are the expected references to diet and exercise but there is much more helpful and insightful information. Dr. Youn refers to Jimmy Buffet’s song “Growing Older but Not Up” for inspiration. He urges you to stand up straight, move like a younger person, learn new things, keep moving, stretch, love and more. You’ll look and feel happier and younger. There is excellent advice to treat and improve aging skin. He mentions botox and different fillers but there are also recipes for holistic, homemade facials. Dr. Youn reviews skin care products and mentions the ingredients to avoid and why. There is a list of the products he recommends, including his own line. Younger for Life is a serious guidebook to looking and feeling younger. 5 stars.

Thank you to NetGalley, Harlequin Trade Publishing and Anthony Youn, M.D. for this ARC.

I think I learned a lot from reading this book, and for that reason, I would recommend it. I listen to it as an audiobook checked out from the library, and I would warn that there are at times long list of foods, and things like that that will help improve your health span Health span is the amount of time you might live a healthy part of your life as opposed to lifespan, which might be the time that comes after your healthy but continue to live.

80% of the book is about how to live healthier, eat healthier and a number of other things the last 20% of the book focuses on Medical or surgical options, some types of drugs, and things like that that might help with the appearance of how you look or how young you look. The author is a plastic surgeon, but has come about living healthier for longer from a holistic perspective initially, and only provides the other options at the end of the book,

Spite the fact that the author is a plastic surgeon. I do feel like he did a very good job of giving a holistic view and achieved his goal with this book.

As a follower of Dr. Youn on YouTube, I was made aware of his book prior to publication. At that time I pre-ordered the book and looked forward to reading it and getting more detailed information about certain "beauty" and "health" tips including the alternative to using Retinal as he specifically mentioned that Bakuchiol would be addressed as an alternative to using retinoids. Sadly, that is one of the things that was barely touched upon and actually where he asked his readers to give him their input on their reactions to the use of Bakuchiol. So, I felt a little misled on that particular item. I have tried some of the recipes, though not all of them yet. I do feel that they could use a note about refrigeration versus counter top for some of the items as well as expected shelf life. I had to make my own best guess on this based on the moisture content of the item after baking, it would have been nice if the nutritionist had given that.

Overall, I enjoyed Dr. Youn's writing style and there was a good bit of information that was well presented.

An exceptional read! Good health means a good life.

The book's strength lies in its ability to distill complex scientific concepts into accessible and engaging narratives. He skillfully navigates through the intricacies of aging, explaining the physiological processes with clarity and relevance. By combining medical expertise with a conversational tone, he ensures that even those without a background in medicine can grasp the essential principles behind his recommendations.

One of the standout features of "Younger for Life" is its emphasis on holistic well-being. Rather than focusing solely on external appearances, Anthony advocates for a comprehensive approach to health. From nutrition and exercise to stress management and sleep hygiene, the author addresses various facets of life that contribute to the aging process. This holistic approach sets the book apart, offering readers a roadmap to not just looking younger but feeling younger and more energized

This is two books in one.

Part of the book is science and what we can do diet, exercise, sunblock, cleanses/creams/lotions sleep... to help reduce aging. While some of this book is science based other parts of it were anecdotal (i.e. some people say) A lot of it makes sense but lacks rigorous data to back up the claims. Parts are just lists of foods and supplements that will be useful in Autojuenation. There is also some talk about intermittent fasting. This is what I was looking for and expecting in this book.

The second part was more about procedures facelifts, injections, baldness treatments veneers and caps you can do to look superficially better. I was not interested in this part.

the book also seemed to try to raise awareness of the author's side line of selling some of the products he recommends. Note: he does always say that he provides lists of competing products and that a portion of the profits go to charity.

I've been an avid listener of Anthony Youn's podcasts, and I can't recommend them enough. His episodes are always insightful, touching on current and relevant topics that are incredibly relatable. What I love most is how much practical advice he shares—every episode feels like a treasure trove of tips and recommendations.

Recently, I finished reading his book, *Younger for Life*, and it was just as impressive. Like his podcasts, the book is packed with helpful information, but what sets it apart is Anthony's ability to present serious subject matter in a way that's both engaging and light-hearted. There were plenty of moments where I found myself laughing out loud, which made the learning experience even more enjoyable.

Thank you, Dr. Youn, for keeping it real and for making health and wellness not just accessible, but fun too.

“May you live a lot, and only age a little” — couldn’t have summarized it better!

Challenging the notion that aging inevitably means decline, this groundbreaking book offers a step-by-step guide to naturally turning back the clock through simple diet, lifestyle, and skincare changes. Providing straightforward tips from intermittent fasting to establishing an effective daily routine, it outlines a 3-week rejuvenation program for a youthful look and feel.

This is an extremely useful book for anyone wanting to develop their personal habits to live a longer, healthier life. Empathetic and easy to read, it communicates the science behind the recommendations, as well as the author’s experience and expertise.

Thanks, NetGalley, for the ARC I received. This is my honest and voluntary review.

I already love Dr. Anthony Youn from his Instagram and this book continued to confirm my love for him. I think he gave fantastic advice regarding how to look and feel younger both from the inside out as well as the outside in. Many recommendations were things that we have heard before, but because of his reminders, I began implementing them back into my daily routine. I think it’s really cool that although he is a plastic surgeon, he is able to see that not everyone is interested in that route and is able to provide so many non-invasive alternatives. I listened to the audio during my evening walks and really loved it, but would have loved it even more had he been the reader. I’m off to buy collagen supplements and skin peels!

Full of information mainly focusing on nourishing your skin from the inside out (diet change, water intake, etc. ) Dr. Youn goes through most of the major procedures and tells you benefits and drawbacks. He gives you a plan to look younger with daily routines that if you follow are supposed to help you look younger. I listened to the book so keeping track of that was a little difficult but I believe he has a website you can go to. He also has a long list of products he recommends. Very good resource.

Anthony Youn has a wonderful way of making complex scientific and medical information easy to understand, creating a supportive experience for the reader. I really enjoyed how thoughtfully organized his chapters were, starting with the importance of healing our insides before addressing the outside. I appreciated how he broke everything down into manageable parts, allowing us to put a plan in place instead of overwhelming us with information. This is definitely a book you'll want in physical form so you can easily tab important information for future reference.

I really like Dr Youn. I think he has a good middle ground philosophy on holistic and conventional medicine. I appreciate his natural-first approach with a reasonable conventional medicine approach second. Eating well, exercising, and trying to heal the body from the inside out first. Also, I do think he is entertaining. He is witty and sarcastic, which makes reading a self-help book more enjoyable.

This was a great book to listen to. The reader has a great, calm voice, and it was cool to hear his tone change when something was tongue in cheek, and he even giggled a little at some of the comments left on author's posts.

The info was presented in a non judgemental way, and the author knows his limits on his education but doesn't pretend to know everything.

The workbook and other free downloads were helpful as well.

I loved how the author gave fantastic advice in a holistic approach. He goes into almost every single detail about skin problems. He doesn't judge you. Which is the best feeling ever ♡♡ He teaches you ways you can make yourself feel better, starting with ingredients that can be found in homes. I suggest this book if you want to take better care of yourself. He wants to make sure you feel happy and comfortable in your own skin without having to go to doctors to fix everything on the outside.

Good advice, nice to have it all at one place. Good for people contemplating plastic surgery and other rejuvenating treatments. I recommend a text copy or kindle rather than audiobook because it can be used as a reference later. I love the recipes and compassionate and positive tone. For me, the only downside was that some of the advice seemed a little longwinded. I therefore read it fast, not dwelling on those spots.

I love a glimpse into the beauty-wellness realm. I vibed with a lot of this book, mostly the nutrition sections, and making my insides feel strong and healthy. Trying to not feel hyper focused on my aesthetics while acknowledging there are favors I can control now so that I can be grateful for the process of growing older.

There's lots of common sense in this book but the most surprising thing for me is that the author is a plastic surgeon! I happened to see this book on the New Books shelf of my library and had no idea that he is a popular online presence and "America's Holistic Plastic Surgeon." The book was a fairly easy read. His Three-Week Autojuvenation Jump Start is a bridge too far for me, though.

Very informative! I am 23 yo and not enticed by all the extremes of reversing inevitable aging but will definitely reference this book in the future. If anything it gave great ways to prevent an early onset of aging. Great info for this topic and appreciated the author, as a plastic surgeon, leaning away from invasive procedures and recommending simple and less invasive as the first go to.

I liked the focus we don't often get from healthspan and longevity books on what can be done to the outside of your body to keep it looking younger and more beautiful. Most books--rightly--focus on what we put on the inside because that is the primary driver of healthspan, but that doesn't mean it's everything. The books has great, easy to do tips for outer beauty.
