This book is the first and only comprehensive hiking guide to the superb parklands of California’s Marin, Napa, and Sonoma counties. North Bay Trails highlights trails not only for hikers, but for bicyclists, equestrians, trail runners, and dog walkers as well. From mountaintop to coastal lands, North Bay Trails covers favorites such as Mt. Tamalpais, the Marin Headlands, and Point Reyes, and also introduces hikers to the scenic wonders of the wine country, the Russian River redwoods, and the Sonoma Coast. Trails range from 1-mile nature walks to rigorous all-day outings, and include detailed hike descriptions, topographic maps, trip highlights, mileage and duration, and difficulty ratings.

I'm not just reading this book, but actively using it as a guide to the many trails available for hiking and long distance through hiking. It's a go to resource with suggestions, and the key thing, decent description on how to find the trailheads. If heading to the North Bay or the Wine Country of Northern California and you want to go outside and check out the sights, pick up a copy of this book.
