This issue is a nice example of what's wrong with the current run of Hellblazer. Long story short - we've got Nergal. John's most iconic enemy. But, you see, it doesn't feel that important here. In the original Vertigo's Hellblazer when John fought somebody that big, it always felt like something impossible happens. A mortal man challenges an impossible power and... wins. Somehow. That exact feeling of the impossible enemy was one of the things that made the original Hellblazer so cool.

Here, on the other hand... it's nothing like that. Nergal looks and feels like some random villain from the old American cartoon. One of those that were popular in 80s. You know, one of those, where villains used to have funny voices. Cobra Commander from G.I. Joe, Shredder from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles... You know, all those funny losers. That's how Nergal acts in this issue. Should I say that it feels wrong? Like... absolutely wrong? Hellblazer was so cool because it used to make you feel scared about those incredible evil forces. This? This is just yet another evil loser.

What's worse, this issue decided to remind us about the old Constantine's victories. Why it's so bad? Because it makes you remember. Remember the old comics. Which inevitably makes you feel all that stuff above. It didn't feel that cheap before! Also, Huntress is still here. Just to kill the mood completely. So... yeah. Say whatever you want, but this isn't Hellblazer. It's just some cheap comic. Something like this may work as a cartoon for kids. But as a part of canon adventures of John Constantine... Nope.
