Maha Yoga

Rate this book
This Book (running into tenth edition) is based on the Sanskrit works of the Author,Sri Raman Hridayam and Guru Ramana Vachana Mala. The status of the world, the soul, the egoless state and merits of devotion are all lucidly explained so as to help the serious seeker understand the teachings of Bhagavan. The Author chooses to write under the pseudonym 'WHO'. The Book besides summarising the teachings of the sage also gives a summary of the entire vedanta embodying in particular the exposition of Sri Sankarachrya. In effect we see the perfect parallelism between the teachings of the upanishads and those of Sri Maharshi. The method of Self-Enquiry advocated by Sri Maharshi has an intense orientation towards practice. This means enquiring into the source of 'I' which leads to the extinction of the ego, that is illusory 'I'. Thus Self-enquiry leads to Self-realisation.

Certainly one of the best books I have ever read in my entire life, if not the one that stands on the top of the podium. This is at least the best book on Sri Ramana's philosophy in my opinion - filled with very clear statements by K. Lashmana Sarma, its author, who was a very keen disciple of the Maharshi and whose knowledge about him has been proven to exactly correspond to the Guru's silent doctrine regarding Self-Realization and Liberation - terms that sustain the Advaita Vedanta.

Besides what's just been said, I'd just tell: READ THIS BOOK. Even if you're a Christian, a Jew or just an intellectual interested in metaphysics or religious matters. You won't regret it. Simple yet as profound as life itself. There's not much to explore in this field than suggest it, for it'll have a very unique and profound impact on your life.

Who Am I...

This definitely is the first step to the study of Cosmology and Human existance. Good read with high standard of Philosophy and some Metaphysics.

Brilliant book which tells you the simple truth of the universe. It is useful only if one applies the principles and practises what is taught.
