Nate Finch has generally had a successful life. He is co-owner of a tour company with his now divorced French wife, Colette, when the two were in college. They have made the divorce work with Nate living in Paris and Colette in Atlanta. Not bad for the son of a Vidalia onion farmer from south Georgia.

However, Nate's luck ends after a woman apparently commits suicide when she jumps from the Eiffel Tower right above one of Nate's tour groups. He soon discovers when the French police begin their investigation that Nate is a person of interest since the deceased woman had Nate's phone number in her pocket. Additionally, Nate and the woman, Becky Tate, had a brief relationship after his divorce. Now he is embroiled in a series of adventures including being an attempted target of a driveby shooting, FBI investigation, and terrorist involvement.

Although this novel was good, it was nothing special. It was compilation of a number of tropes including former girlfriend with a history, innocent protagonist with attractive woman against the bad guys, and protagonist succeeds in thwarting antagonists when law enforcement fails. Since this author is a Georgia author, I enjoyed descriptions of Atlanta, Savannah, and southern Georgia that I'm familiar with. However the book was too formulaic with little to set it apart from others in the thriller/suspense genre.

An interesting book, a woman is tossed from the Eiffel Tower and some of her blood falls on a tour guide/owner of a tour service. She had one time be involved with this person. This launches a story that goes from Paris to Atlanta with stops in Savannah Georgia. The main character was divorced from a French woman, who he co-owns the tour company with. The reason for the divorce was her affair with someone else. He becomes involved with the sister of the murdered woman, who has come to France to claim her ashes and pursue finding her killer. The FBI is involved investigating the death as it impacts a person who is seen as someone they would like to arrest in the US. As is often seen in many books of this genre, they are very inept, but would like to claim credit for the crime being stopped.
