From the author of Make Someone Smile , this delightful collection of 26 rhyming poems is perfect for reading aloud. The themes—being kind, solving problems, learning from mistakes, telling the truth, dealing with feelings, making decisions, being a friend, and more—are clear, understandable, and relevant to the everyday lives of young children.

This book is 100% written in poem form. Each page is a new poem that motivates readers to be their best version of themselves. The words are very simple and the pictures included are black and white photographs. One of my favorite poems in the book comes from page 18, "If I promise to do it, I'll do it. If I promise to go, I'll be there. If I promise to finish, I'll finish. Keeping my word Shows I care." I feel like this is an important message for children to read and many of these poems would be a great tool in teaching! The simplicity in this book would be good for a 1st-3rd grader. I would have liked more of a variety of poem types/descriptions of what those types are but overall this would be a great classroom edition; this is my reasoning behind 4 stars.
"I like Being Me" by Judy Lalli is a beautifully written poetry book for kids of all ages. (However, I would recommend this book for grades k-4.) This book speaks highly of self-esteem and loving oneself. In addition, the poems teach children about sharing, learning from their mistakes, being truthful, and helping others. Overall, this is a poetry book that helps to instill moral values in children.
There are twenty-six poems, and each poem is accompanied by a black and white photo. Teachers can read the poems to their students or they can teach the poems as a song; which could help students to memorize the poems. In all, this is an awesome book that can help with classroom management and it can help students to be aware of themselves as well as their actions.
I like the photographs and bright illustrations in this book of poems about behavior for adults to share with children. I think that children will enjoy many of these poems. The book also includes a guide for teachers, parents and other adults explaining the social skills addressed by the poems, and giving ideas for activities that could be done using the poems.
