Rob Lloyd Jones was born in San Francisco but grew up in London. He studied Egyptology at University where he learnt hieroglyphics, and often goes on digs with the Egypt Exploration Society. He is a senior editor at Usborne, for whom he has written over thirty books – mostly historical non-fiction, but also adaptations of classics such as JEKYLL AND HYDE and THE COUNT OF MONTE CRISTO. Rob is also a volunteer reading helper at a primary school in Clerkenwell and wrote episodes of the children’s TV show ‘Bernard’s Watch’ for Carlton Kids. He lives in south London with his wife Sally, and 14-month-old son Otis.

Third, football was played in England. Second and third forms of football were brutal. In 19th century, football had fans and rules were framed for playing football. In 1823, soccer game started. In 1863, Football Association was formed. Soon, football was played in Australia, USA, Ireland and other nations. In 1930, Football World Cup was played. In 1967, USA football Superbowl was played. In 1987, Rugby World Cup was played between Australia and New Zealand. In 2010, Football World cup was played between 205 countries. Coloured illustrations help the reader to relate to the story. I have read the Hindi language translation of this book.
