Mitsumasa Anno (born March 20, 1926) was a Japanese illustrator and writer of children's books, known best for picture books with few or no words. He received the international Hans Christian Andersen Medal in 1984 for his "lasting contribution to children's literature".
All the pages are these lovely foliage drawings, and you find the animals hidden in the lines. Clever and beautiful, my great grandmother gave this to my mom and I inherited it last week.
This is the ultimate find the hidden animals book. Each page has a wonderful jungle or woodsy scene with animals hidden in them. Many are very hard to find. We and our kids spent hours in this book. With 7 kids, that's a lot of hours, and it never got old. The artwork and creativity is superb. At the back of the book is a list of the animals on each page; however, Anno cleverly hides more animals than listed, and also a few surprises. Even the cover has a couple of hidden animals. This is so worth your time. I hope it is reprinted soon.
At the beginning, I was curious why this book said about animal... Ahh, It's awesome.. At this time, I haven't found all animal recommend at the end of the book. Try more next time. Creative work!
