I did not care for this commentary. Which is sad given the others in this series. There was no depth to explanations of the text. It was mostly focused on philology without helping the reader to understand what was going on in the text. Very disappointing!

Well worth the effort to read. I needed the Commentary to get benefit from what I read. 2,000 plus years of Jewish scholarship is very, very impressive!

Very nice, accessible commentary. Needs to be accompanied by Milgrom, of course, and Douglas' anthropological work.

Well done. Very focused on close reading of text, less focused on history and context than other JPS commentaries.
