I loved Johnny Appleseed faith in God, how he trust in God to help Him in times of need.
It was a real good book.

wow! who knew the Disney cartoon was so accurate in so many ways. Fascinating life. [1 minor point- I doubt very seriously Chapman thought the world was millions of years old. I would like to see some evidence that he believed that.]

I had a hard time with the writing style of this book, especially the moralizing and Scriptures that felt trite and forced rather than meaningful. My kids thought it was rather boring as a read-aloud even though it actually had quite a bit of action. We did like that they included some educational info in the back of the book, like how to graft apple trees as well as some old fashioned apple recipes.

Give's a nice (fictionalized) personal narrative of the life of John Chapman. It takes the man of myth and gives kids the good perspective of the kind of real life Johnny Appleseed had and the impact her made in America.

The kids enjoyed this book, and I did as well. I learned quite a bit about Johnny Appleseed, that wasn’t in my history text as a child.

Part of my boys’ school curriculum. Johnny Appleseed is probably their favorite character/historical figure from the entire year.

Interesting biography about America's favorite apple tree planter. We read this for homeschool history studies.
