It was a wonderful life for the Follow Dog, running around the countryside, chasing rats, barking at rabbits, swimming in the creek, looking for wild ducks and digging holes. Then one summer, a drought hits the farm and the Dog's owners have to move to the town.
Sally Odgers was born in Tasmania in the 1950s, went to school there in the 1960s, married there in the 1970s, and had her children there in the 1980s. Her first book was published in 1977.
A delightful story about a dog who lives on a farm and follows everyone around. When a drought forces the family to move to the city, everyone is happy with the change except for Dog. His habit of following people around is no longer welcome. Instead of being everyone's friend, he's everyone's porblem. He's tied to his kennel and he either escapes or howls pitifully, annoying the neighbours.
