Honest. Humbling. Moving. Heartfelt.
Jeff has lived very different lives at different times and openly acknowledges his failings and gives credit to those who turned his life around. I loved his humor for many years and now understand why—-because he is a blessed and forgiven man who shares from his heart.

We often hear "Laughter is the Best Medicine"'. But Comedian Jeff Allen knows that there is a far greater cure for what ails us, the Truth!

Jeff Allen candidly takes us on a journey through his life story -- the highs, the lows, and everything in between.

What medicine releases men from bondage to drugs and alcohol, depression, despair, and a crumbling family?

Jeff shares, "And I heard a voice saying, 'I was there'. As I reflected on my journey, I could see that throughout my life, God had opened doors, guided, and directed me, even when I didn't recognize Him--or even hated him. He would intervene in ways that I know saved my life."

"Are We There Yet?" delivers a gut-punch, but it also brings joy and triumph. It's a book you won't want to put down until you turn the last page, and then you'll want to start it again.

Are We There Yet?: My Journey from a Messed Up to Meaningful Life by Jeff Allen is a humorous and inspirational memoir that blends stand up comedy sensibilities with sincere reflection on marriage, personal growth, and life transformation.

What makes this book especially engaging is its balance of comedy and vulnerability. Allen uses humor as both a storytelling tool and a lens for self examination, allowing readers to laugh while also connecting with the deeper emotional truths behind his experiences.

The memoir also stands out for its relatable exploration of relationships and personal accountability. Themes of marriage, family dynamics, and self improvement are presented in a way that feels accessible, grounded, and widely resonant for readers navigating similar life challenges.

Another major strength lies in the authenticity of the voice. Coming from a seasoned comedian, the narrative naturally carries rhythm, timing, and observational clarity, making the life lessons feel organic rather than forced or instructional.

Funny, honest, and genuinely reflective, Are We There Yet? will strongly appeal to readers of comedic memoirs, inspirational nonfiction, relationship focused storytelling, and audiences who enjoy humor-driven personal transformation narratives.

Enjoyed his comedy tour and purchased the book after the show - not only made me appreciate how difficult it was to be so honest to his wife and family - but also to his fans! When Jeff got serious in the middle of his routine in Omaha it really touched my heart. Difficult book to read but well worth it. My only critique - would really love to have had some followup chapters written by his wife Tami. And where she is at now. (Keeping both of them in my prayers and hope that there are no future setbacks - god bless)

This book was a fast read and I was intrigued by the journey that Jeff’s life took from his beginning as a crazed and alcoholic comic to his current status now, a fulfilled man, husband, father, and comedian. I am passing this along to friends!

I had no idea Jeff Allen's life was like this. It's not your typical book written by a comedian. This is an honest and extremely helpful book for any man struggling with addiction and meaningless in their lives. Highly recommend.

Phenomenal testimony from Jeff Allen. I have shown his testimony before. He is a hilarious comedian and his humor is found throughout, but this book is an amazing testimony to the continuous transformation God brings when we seek Him out. 100000% would recommend and will read again.
