What does it take to really become a Mennonite? The Mennonite Starter Kit offers a witty look at the assumed but unwritten requirements of acceptance into the Mennonite community.Tongue-in-cheek, the authors explore the maze of Mennonite jargon, acronyms habits, and upside-down values confronting newcomers to Mennonite churches.
Despite the title, this book is really not for the "Newly Mennonite." (Especially now that it's over 20 years past its 1993 publication date.) If you've been Mennonite for quite a while, though, you're likely to find it amusing and ringing true.
