I've had this book since I was a child and it does a very good job explaining what stars are made of, how far away they are, what colors they are, and the names for the different star types. This book would be great for teaching children about stars and it even gives an activity for parents to do with their children to reinforce the contents of the book.

This is a great book that not only helps to understand what a star is, it helps to understand what it does, as well as what kinds of stars there are. The only thing that was a little dull about the book was the use of the "no one knows" line. I could see the positives though, as it can help to make students want to find out.

This is a basic book that teaches children simple facts about stars. It explains how stars are formed, their size and distance from earth, and describes the constellations they form. This would be age appropriate for Kindergarten, First, or Second graders.

This book was cute. However, I marked it with two stars because it conflicts with certain religious beliefs that may be represented in the classroom. It gives false dates and explanations and I wouldn't use it in my future class for my students to read.
