Rate this book
Supermarket shelf stacker Regina Steps has just been found strangled, stripped to her knickers and posed in a most bizarre position atop one of the cannons of Derry’s historic city walls. For seasoned DI Liam McLaughlin and his ragtag team from the Serious Crimes Branch, it’s a murder they’ve never seen the likes of before. Middle-aged Regina might have kept herself to herself, but she always had a smile for everyone she came across. Who could possibly have wanted to do her harm? Was she just unlucky, the victim of a deranged killer striking at random? But as the team delve deeper into her checkered past, they uncover shocking truths the woman kept well hidden under that bad perm of hers. As the list of suspects grows, so too does the notion the murders might have only begun.

The first in the Derry Murder Mysteries series, You'll Get Yours is a gripping mystery thriller with jaw-dropping twists and a touch of Gerald Hansen’s signature dark humor.

Ready for the next one

I really enjoyed this book, and I look forward to reading the next story in the series. Great characters on the police force and an interesting crime.

A decent storyline and enjoyable read. It would benefit from an editor though, as there are several errors including characters changing names throughout the book.

At times I found this book a bit of a slog, which shows woth how long it took me to finish it! Not quite sure how I felt about most of the police team, in particular D’Arcy and Lyons. The storyline itself was okay but I felt it was dragged out more than necessary. Whether or not I will read any others in the series remains to be seen

Loved it

I totally enjoyed this book! I like the characters and it has a great story line. I'm looking forward to reading more about McLaughlin. D'arcy and the rest of the team. It's a good mystery with quite a bit of humor which is always ok with me.

This book just did not grab me at all, I found it long and tedious. The female detective was also such an annoying character I was hoping for her demise shortly into it. Honestly I really wish I could just put a book down if I don't like it...le sigh!

Good story that kept me reading. The police team didn't totally click for me and the author's insistence on spelling out all the acronyms was a bit annoying. Obviously we have the Northern Irish to blame for "but" at the end of a sentence.

This was a fun read. It was humorous, with likable detectives, unique story. I also bought the Audible version, so I could continue the book during my commute. I do NOT recommend the Audible version. It was really terrible - some sort of AI-reader who mispronounced words and read like a robot.

Unfortunately “read” by audio book, which was “read” by “virtual reader”. I started wondering about 1/4 the way in and when I looked I saw this. Hated the reading and almost stopped the book because of it. The story was actually pretty good but the reading overwhelmed the actual story.

My first by this author. I enjoyed most of the banter. I am not sure I like D’Arcy though. I will read at least one more of this series.

I really enjoyed this book. I am not familiar with some Irish terms. British I love but I learned so many things about Irish life. But yes I really enjoyed the story as well.

The story was good enough for a read, but the author did way to much telling and not enough showing. At times I was tempted to stop reading, but stuck it out. I did like the characters.
