Discusses Japan's history, culture, arts, and people, while offering details on attractions, accommodations, restaurants, and advice on traveling throughout the country.
The editor of this book needs to be shot and buried. I'm aware this is a dated book, but there are several grammatical and spelling errors, not to mention a missing page near the end of the book. The information is alright, but the vocabulary tends to be a little advanced. Even as an English major, I had to look up some words.
All in all, I'm sure there were and are better books for information on Japan.
This was a solid, good read for potential travelers to Japan, like myself. It had good information all around and I'm glad I read it. I know more than I did before I read it. However, I have two complaints. There were numerous typos which should have been caught by the editor. Also, the information was not quite as well written as some other travel books and so not as engaging.
