The Broken Dragon

Rate this book
War has torn the dwarven lands asunder. Traitors and monsters terrorize the kingdom, and the death toll continues to mount.

Fjell and Marsilia find themselves caught up in politics even as their friends fight for their lives. Fjell contends with a stubborn King that refuses to see reason, and Marsillia finds herself put into the very position she never asked for: the power of leadership.

The Wild Hunt has come to lay waste. The powers of undeath threaten all of the Fae Realm, and it is up to Fjell, Marsilia, and their allies to ensure that Svartalfheim is not the first of the dominoes to fall.

Kathryn Reynolds was born in Houston, Texas to an obsession of dragons, unicorns and magic. As she grew, that obsession spread into history and folklore, and she began her first world building and story crafting with her best friends at the tender age of ten.

Now living in northern Colorado, Kathryn continues her personal studies of historical clothing, courtly graces, and martial combat in medieval reenactment. She enjoys hiking in the mountains with her husband, knitting with her Maine Coon curled up at her side, and drinking unreasonable amounts of tea.

I loved this whole trilogy and this was quite possibly the perfect climatic end to Marsilia & Fjell’s story. The battle scenes were on the grande scales like you would read or see in the LOTR or Hobbit series, or those great medieval based movies.
The heartbreak of loss & the joy of the battle won, a great roller coaster ride to the end. I laughed, cried, felt joy, and was worried.

This book is so, so good! Reynolds builds a triumphant climax where the action and intrigue are very well balanced with tender moments and emotional depth. The world is left open for more without feeling unfinished. While it isn't meant to be a standalone (and I absolutely recommend reading the rest of this series) The Broken Dragon is strong enough to take position as Reynolds' flagship. I'm very much looking forward to what else this talented writer has to share.

Kathryn Reynolds absolutely knocked it out of the park with this final book in The White Witch Trilogy. Every moment, every scene has such weight and gravitas, and will keep you turning page after page until the end. No spoilers, I don't even want to hint at the plot, but all I can say is: go read this book, and enjoy one of the best fantasy novels you will ever read.

Engulfed in the Fae Realm Once Again.

As I read by the fire I was yet again pulled through the flames and found myself fulling apart of the story. I adore the way you are pulled in and feel as though you are there yourself. Amazing storytelling and description. Anyone looking for adventure AND romance should pick up every book written by Kathryn Reynolds.
