Dragon’s Bride is book two in the Her Royal Dragon Pack series by Alex Lidell.

This one was a bit easier to read, but still has moments that are hard to read.

Kit’s role is changing, but still lots of secrets. Kit is still holding back and we see at the end her confidence grow, but this one is a slow read. It’s a dangerous journey over the Ocean, but it gives them time to play. Lots of spice.

Dragon’s Bride was just ok. Still not great and I won’t read again. I still had issues with things in the story.

Complications upon complications

Kit and the guys have a bit of a complicated relationship. The guys all feel a connection with her of some sort, though only really one of the four are willing to show it. Two open up some, but the fourth? Yeah, not so much. Kit and Quinton seemed like they were making a little bit of headway until he started training her. He became cold, indifferent to her, even as far as hating her, it seemed. Good thing we have multiple points if view in the book! We get inside the minds of the guys, telling us their sides of things and what they've been through.

I enjoyed seeing the growth of the characters and their relationships. I wondered if maybe the guys would have a bit of groveling in their future, but when we get a look at their sides of things and how they start acting towards her as the book goes on, I find they do a good job of taking care of her or sorting things out even without actually apologizing.

It's been quite an adventurous series so far and one I recommend!

4.8 / 5.0 I snatched this up as soon as the email went out and have read it twice. First, as a reading “on its own” and second, in order after re-reading the first book.

It is still a great story and we get more world and character-building in this one. I liked that the plot is blossoming and the little twists are making themselves known. There is more spice in this one, so be ready for that, and a little less needless violence. Remember, from the first one I reviewed that these MMCs are human so they do not behave in “humanly” ways, but you see more growth in them as they are learning from the FMC.

She is also getting better and starting to come into her own more believably. Lera, from Power of Five, seemed to just suddenly wake up and was a badass character very quickly. This FMC is shown progressing more in an extended way like there is more time built into the story though the pacing is excellent.

Overall, I liked it. I don’t mind the huge cliffhanger because Lidell always does that but she’s quick to get the next book going. I will probably re-read these first 2 a few more times before the next one comes up.

Until Next Time,
MC.

4.8 / 5.0 I have tried to review three times and GoodReads keeps messing up, so tomorrow I will compose a full review again.

This is good, better than good, and I enjoyed it.

What was that ending?!?! My heart...I don't know how I'm going to survive...ok a bit overdramatic but it was quite the cliffhanger. I am loving this series though so much. You really see the growth in Kit. She is hilarious but also just good and has a spine of steel when needed. It's no wonder the dragon princes have fallen head over heels for her. She's like the perfect combo of naive, strong and honest. Quinton is definitely my fave cause he's the broody, emotionally stunted one but of course that only means he pulls crazy crap around Kit and I am here for it. Unfortunately things didn't quite go as the princes planned and now I can't wait to see what harebrained plan they come up with but I'm definitely along for the ride.

This book picked up pretty much where the last left off. The story was very slow at the beginning due to them being on the ship for most of the read, but picked up half way through. Most of it was spent with Kit and Quintons going back and forth. I’d say this is his book. There was a sprinkling of the other packs pov chapters in this as well. Overall, it was still a great read.. be it a short one. Ended on a cliffhanger. Wait to read this book until the next one comes out… to avoid the anxious feeling that this cliffhanger gives you.

I enjoyed the book. I wished book 3 was here faster than Dec, lol. A lot of the drama would have been different or saved if everyone just said what they were thinking instead of being rude, that's for sure. I do wonder how some scenes would play out if they were tweaked just a little. Oh well, the grass is always green right!

I made it through the first book in this series, but DNF’d this one at 12%. If you don’t want to see violence against women on the page, I recommending passing on this one altogether. I read the Power of Five series and found it much more enjoyable. The MMC’s were much more respectful and actually worshipped their female. I just couldn’t stomach this one. Hard no for the rest of the series.

The dragons take to the sea!

This series is sooo much fun to get lost in and man alive am I glutton for these cliffhanger endings.

I mean yes they are a doozy but I love them sooo much because you know the books got you hooked good when you yell and chuck your kindle when it stops there. (Am I wrong?)

But back to the story. The pack is on the way from the human realm to the realm of the dragons and one step closer to the Equinox Trials.

While on the ship, Kit undergoes more intense training in preparation for the trials. Where as the other brides will have had their whole life’s to prepare, Kit has weeks. Quinton puts her through grueling physical training while Tavias, Cyril and Hauck put her through ‘physical’ training and comfort her every night.

More insight into the princes, especially Cyril’s background and why he is no longer the heir apparent.

Picks right up from book one. A rh fantasy romance. Magic, high seas highjinx, monsters and a growing bond that goes beyond the agreed upon arrangement.

Favorite scene - Quinton and Kit in the crow’s nest ‘breathing’. These two are my favorite together!

Multiple povs, Kit’s told in first person, males told in third.

Characters-
Kit - human
Dragon princes - Tavias (amethyst dragon, heir apparent) Cyril (blue dragon) Quinton (silver dragon and a shadow) Hauck (golden dragon)
Ettienne - Massa’eve’s king, definitely do not like him and his schemes 😡

Steam - 🔥, group scenes

Triggers - corporal punishment, blood, death

I LOVE this heroine and her harem. H A R D!

Oh my goodness, I love our FMC, Kit. She’s strong. She’s vulnerable. She’s confident. She’s insecure. She’s all these things, and she’ll worm her way into your affections. She definitely has a mouth on her . . . Not a naughty mouth, but her snide remarks and comebacks to the dragon princes is *chefs kiss*

This book continues the journey of our 4 dragon princes, and Kit, back to their homeland to compete in the Immortal Games. They only have the length of this journey - a few weeks - to prepare/train Kit for what is to come. The bulk of this book takes place aboard a ship that must sail to, and through, the divide between the mortal and immortal realms. It’s not as easy as it sounds. I think because the book takes place on the ship, there is a lot more character development which I was absolutely here for.

When they reach the castle . . .
Tavias pulls away slowly, letting our lips linger against each other for a moment longer before parting. “I don’t want to open the carriage door,” he confesses. “When we go inside, with Ettienne, I might be different. More… more the way the heir apparent is expected to behave. Whatever happens, promise me that you’ll remember this moment. Know that it’s real. Alright?”

Ooh that just really hurt my heart.

This book ends on a cliffhanger, and I highly recommend this series. I am thoroughly enjoying it.

I had a hard time rating the first book, because I found the actions of the princes too unethical, and I didn't like Kit constantly moving on right after and then getting turned on. When characters aren't (fully) human, I try to be open-minded, but their behavior and reasonings made me ill. The problem was that I actually quite liked the story. This book was a step-up from that though, and we get a greater understanding of each of the characters – especially Kit and Quinton. A recurring problem though is Kit's lack of standing by her choices/opinions. I know, I know, be forgiving and all that, but both her and the princes' feelings do a one-eighty several times.

I had hoped that the book would have been a bit longer, and we'd get further into the story, but I know from Lidell's other books that this is common. Despite it being slow, it felt like some of the story was hurried somehow – perhaps needing more depth in the emotional connections?

Unfortunately, there were quite a lot of spelling mistakes for such a short book, and it affected the reading experience, but otherwise the writing was great. Beware of the cliffhanger, and I think we can look forward to the third instalment coming in December.

This is a page turner! I'm a big fan of Alex Lindell and have pretty much read all her series. So far these are short books but she does so much with them. We get character & relationship development, action, and dragon whispering.

Stakes are getting higher now that Cordelia is dead and they've decided to fake a relationship with Kit. But how will this be received by the King? Hmmm...it's probably what you think.

Most of the book centers on the travel to Lumos and Kit's developing relationships with each of the MMCs. I felt her relationship with Quinton is the deepest, only cause they "appear" to hate each other.

I was only slightly disappointed that we didn't get her first time experiences with each men on paper. (Only 2 of them were on page)

That last scene was intense. It went from heartbreaker to hot to perilous. Great cliffhanger, I didn't even need it! I was already getting sad that I was near the end of the book! So looking forward to the next book.

I would love to see what Kit really is! She's no ordinary human!.

Good

WARNING! Cliffhanger! This rates a pretty high 5/5 on my trauma scale, but fortunately for us all, the next book in the series is already completed, so no waiting!

Kit and her dragon princes have to make their way to the fae lands, and this involves a rather perilous sea voyage.
In the meantime, the princes need to train the former slave, so that they can compete in the equinox games, without Kit getting killed!

It’s a quick, and quite fast paced read, and there is a surprising amount going on during what should be quite a dull voyage.
Of course, it won’t go smoothly, because when it comes to politics and fae royalty, you can be sure that betrayal, conniving, and violence are all involved at some point along the way!

It’s an enjoyable story, with intriguing characters and an interesting subplot. There are a number of steamy scenes as well as some action ones, as this book is really about Kit getting to know the princes on multiple levels, including the personal, and I’m looking forward to seeing where it leads.
This is an entertaining read for RH fans, as well as fans of the author.

A wonderful read, great characters and a scenario that will hold you riveted within its pages
I found this to be a very interesting read, I enjoyed it as much as I did the first book and I am sure that others will be as enchanted by this wonderful read as I did. Quinton was a wonderful character and I found that once I started reading this book it was impossible to put this book down.
The characters had been written so very well and I am sure that you will find yourself caught up in the scenario of this read and you will not be able to put it down until you reach the final page and discover the outcome, you will be held riveted.
It is another cliff hanger and you will be left looking forward to future books in the series.
I assure you that you will love every moment of this book it is simply a fantastic read.

I thoroughly enjoyed the book and look forward to reading any future publications; keep up all the great writing

A direct continuation from the first book in the series, and it was just as amazing.

I felt like this book had quite a slower start compared to the first book and to some extent I do wish more had occurred in this book, but I am so happy with the ending. Quinton does truly have my entire heart, although he can be quite a heartbreaking character sometimes. Consequently, I feel as though this book was definitely more focused on him, which I believe was needed as his character has so many layers, which all become slowly exposed.

In addition to this, I feel like there are so many layers in the others that are taking a prolonged time to come out, such as Hauck. Furthermore, I feel like Kit's character is lacking in some traits and I didn't really connect with her this book, but I did truly enjoy her pure resilience.

I will definitely be reading the next book in this series as the cliffhanger at the end edged me and I just need to know what happens!.

Yeah... still conflicted about this series. While I really am not enjoying a lot of the content, I am invested in the outcome of the trials. So I have been reading this and skipping some of the graphic content. I do like the way Kit is coming out of her shell and standing up for herself, but the punishments, the way the Princes "feel bad about it, but oh well", and still coerce her into sexual situations, because they're 'training her for the trial' 🤮, is just a big red flag. Consent people.

Then there is the betrayal, the assassination attempt, the forced mating, the hate sex, the public sex as part of the trial, the casual violence against women, the way the Princes people see humans as expendable... there is a lot to deal with.

And yet, I will probably read the next book as the overarching premise, the trials and the political drama still sounds interesting. Damn it. Wish me luck.

Enjoyable

I liked the book. The dif point of views were great. Kit tries so hard for them that it’s heartbreaking to see the guys bow to their father on his whims. I’m so glad the ending happened the way it did. It shows there’s a way for Quinton to be a part of them all, he’s not just what his father made him. Kit has sun bravery, and bit of misplaced trust in Quinton but he comes through for her when I didn’t think he would. It also hints more about another power of hers… I rated it 4stars because there was several chapters where it just gave me anxiety. Not the kind where I need to read what’s gonna happen next but I needed to put the book down and focus on something else to calm my racing heart. Otherwise I did enjoy the book. Wish there was an opening to the 2nd book that describes what happened in the first book.

I had finished reading this book less than 24 hours after receiving my copy and had to physically force myself to put it down at 2 am! It was excellently written, a great continuation from the last instalment and left me eagerly awaiting the next book. Another wonderful piece of work by Alex Lidell and I am always excited to see what she writes next.

The story delves deeper into the characters we love, as they navigate emotional challenges and thrilling adventures. Lidell's writing keeps the pages turning with a perfect balance of action and connection between characters. If you're a fan of fantasy romance with an engaging plot, "Dragon's Bride" is a must-read that will leave you eager for more.

“Dragon’s Bride” is book two in the “Her Royal Dragon Pack” series and it’s even better than the first one. This is an epic fantasy series, where the second book is mostly set at sea with some fascinating dangers along the way. I was sitting at the edge of my seat for some of these scenes and I got to the end of the book before I fully realized it was already done.

I sincerely love everything about this book: Kit’s bravery, the men’s alphaholiness (if that’s a word), the worldbuilding, the twists and turns in the storyline, the action scenes, the spice, … The sass and banter between these characters adds an interesting element to the story, but combine it all and you get a truly gripping storyline.

I highly recommend this series, and can’t wait to see what will happen next.

Book two of the Dragons' Captive series is EVERY bit as spectacular, spicy, moving, action-packed, and incredibly well written as the first! Alex has absolutely outdone herself creating this magical world I know many of us are desperate to spend our spare time in. Her characters are evocative, bright, authentic, and they draw you in with their idiosyncrasies, personality traits, and sense of humor. Kit is a fiercely loyal partner to her princes in their quest, and I love watching her courage and spirit come out when she's challenged. All four princes have stolen my heart in their very own ways, but right now Quinton and Hauck have the tightest grasp! I am legitimately desperate to get my hands on book three!!! See y'all on another page!

Wow, this was a fantastic part 2 of Kit’s story.

The dragon princes have struck a bargain with Kit now Cordelia is dead. They will train her, in all areas, in the time they have, to be their bride apparent at the Equinox Games and then she can have her freedom; if she survives.

Their boat journey isn’t uneventful, but she does get to know all of them far better and intimately; while the princes become more protective of her, each in their own way. But when they reach their kingdom, she realises that humans are not seen as kindly by all fae.

The end has some fantastic twists and Kit’s time with the dragon princes isn’t over; I can’t wait to see what happens in the next book “Dragons Mate”.

The Dragon’s Bride by Alex Lidell is the second book in the Her Royal Dragon Pack series. The story follows Kit, who is forced to become a dragon’s bride to help them win a potion that will enable them to create offspring. The dragon princes must forge her into a bride within a few weeks, which is a difficult task as dragons’ brides are molded from childhood. Kit must learn to fight, behave, and mate. As they sail towards the Equinox Trials, Kit discovers more than she bargained for. She finds friendship, fear, and lessons in intimacy that awaken desires she never knew existed. The book is a perfect blend of romance, fantasy, and adventure. The story is fast-paced, and the writing is engaging.

First of all this book is riddled with spelling errors. Whatever direction the plot was going in took a nose dive into the ground and exploded in a fiery crash. Nothing makes sense on what characters do or how they prepare for these trials everyone keeps talking about that still do not happen in this book. Events happen with little to no explanation, plot points come out of nowhere, and it just goes around in circles and nothing really progresses. Plus what the hell was up with that final few chapters. It was so goofy feeling, like the author wrote herself into a corner and had to come up with some way to get herself out. Also the cliffhanger payoff from the end of the first book was super silly and didn't need to happen.

Oh my goodness. I loved this book more than the first one. The banter and feelings that are portrayed through this book caused actual physical reactions.

I want the happy ever after for them. Each one deserves it so much. But I love a good brooding alpha hole. And Quinton hits those marks.

I want Hauck, Cyril, and Tavias to have their hearts mended too. And Kit deserves to be loved like the dragon princes can love her.

And Etienne can walk off a cliff. How dare he….

But this book has me in its grips. I can’t wait to read the next one.

Wow, cliffhanger, but amazing second book in the series!!
I did not see coming where this book went. There are so many ups and downs happening. The world and writing are amazing. There is lots of steam, action, creatures, and an amazing set of main characters. Sometimes those guys, love to hate them, and poor Kit stuck in between everything. I can't wait to see where this goes, the story sucks you in! I did have to go back and read the first to refresh as it came out a bit ago, but it was just as good as the first time I read it, this is not a stand alone. Great story!!.
