If you are looking for gentle romps through the flowers, with lovers holding hands and never making mistakes, then my books are not for you.

I don't write heroes or heroines, I write people with baggage, history and problems. My characters are flawed, they're messy, they make disastrous mistakes that are hard to come back from. My stories are not sweet or kind, they are dark and, at times, cruel. They deal with uncomfortable subjects and I do not apologise for it.

If you like plot twists, characters you don't think you'll ever grow to love but eventually do, sarcasm, dark paths and messy relationships, then come on in. The water may be deep and shark-infested, but I know the way out ...I promise.

This duet was wild. I love books that take you through so many emotions, and this did just that. Buckle up cause you’re in for a crazy ride.
Please check the trigger warnings because it does quite a few.
I really enjoyed the story, but being a duet it had plenty of fillers. I would have loved it if it had just been one book without all the extra fluff added, but all in all, I had a great time reading both books, and I can’t wait to read more from them.

“Well, hello, tall, dark and red-flagged.”

That just about sums Rush Carter up 🚩🚩🚩. He is one toxic, angry, depressed young man. When he and his mum are evicted, his life starts a bit of a downward spiral sponsored by alcohol dependence and anger.

Bailey is the focus of Rush's mixed emotions. She has lost her life of entitlement and privilege, forced to move from her private school to the local high school. Bailey is a fierce character. She suffers bullying from her brother and mum, yet works herself ragged to help support her parents. She has moments of weakness but on the whole she fights her corner. And you get the feeling she comes at Rush as an equal and only concedes what she is willing to. She has faith in him and will be what he needs to heal.

Filthy Puck is far from Rush's redemption. In fact, he's probably worse off at the end of the book. And there is a cliffhanger. This is one of those times you are glad you don't have to wait too long for part 2 to be published.

While hockey is a part of the story, I wouldn't define this book by the sport. Rush plays, but the character detail and development happens away from games. This is an addictive romance of many genres and Rush and Bailey have a whole lot of work to do before they'd qualify for a HEA. Oh and heed the trigger warnings as there is some borderline non con, knife and blood play.

Lord help me

I finished this book in less than 24 hours, Claire had me up until 2am and the first thing I did when I woke up was open this book and finish it.

Rush was… well… filthy and I’m living for it. From his dirty mouth to his mind games. He made me feel so many different emotions so quickly that I was swept away with his story and although he was pretty awful to Bailey, I was rooting for him all the way.

Bailey was a great mixture of being tough but not over the top which was nice.

I can’t wait for the next book, the ending has me panicking and I am currently nursing a book hangover.

This is the first book I’ve read by Claire and it has made me determined to continue reading the rest of her work whilst I patiently wait for the next book. Thank you ☺️

If you are looking for your next binge read, this is it. Lee and Claire take every trope they use and give it a little twist, taking the readers through a dark rollercoaster of emotions. So strap in and get ready for the ride.

As the story starts we meet Rush, a good guy, who always has a smile on his face. But one event after another darkens our sunshine man. With his whole life changing, and as everything is falling apart, Rush takes his anger out on Bailey, the new girl in town. But Bailey doesn’t back down, she doesn’t run for help. The authors give us a strong female character who may just enjoy what our good guy turned bad is serving. They created a male lead who gives in to the darkness that can consume a person as they go through tragedy after tragedy. The push and pull of emotions each character goes through gives us a real sense of their inner turmoil as they navigate the life changes portrayed in the book. You feel the pain of both characters so viscerally that as a reader you will be broken along side them.

So many times we see authors use the pen pals trope to tell us what happened without having to show us. These authors gave us letters that furthered the story through the emotions that were expressed in each one. We got growth in age and maturity of the characters as well as insight into their lives both apart and how they relied on each other. Without these well written letters we would have missed out on vital information and character growth as well as a reason behind the connection between our two characters.

The hockey scenes were well written and you can tell that real research was done into the sport. Unlike other books, Lee and Claire gave us games and practices with intensity to rival reality. The sport wasn’t glossed over or used as a throw away plot point. You were taken right onto the ice. You can feel the cold air and hear the scrape of the skates on the ice as you read.

The cliffhanger had me gasping before screaming at the book. My heart was in my throat as I read the last chapters. Having to wait, even a little bit for the next book is maddening. When it comes to giving the readers a twist that will completely destroy you while making you question small plot details trying to figure out the culprit, these authors have fully earned their nickname.

Please READ TW/CW the book isn't for the faint of heart. It has dark themes and isn't an easy read so if it isn't for you, then it isn't for you.

This was just freaking wild dude. Usually when I read a bully romance they are already a bully, but this is different. They are sweet at first and then their world has crumbled and you see in this book how they became someone's bully. Their origin story with the FMC involved.

The turn of events was just not what I expected haha! Bailey's family got bankrupt then moved to Redcreek. Unfortunately, they moved to Rush's home, then he found out it was them that evicted them from their home.

Bailey's life from there has gone downhill along with Rush, the Captain of the Red Creek Raven Hockey Team. I can't defend his actions, to be honest and along the way, you will find out why he was more ANGRY and SPITEFUL towards her. Bailey was just doing her best to cope with Rush and figure out how to help Rush with his situation and also deal with her new life at Red Creek. I swear to you once you finish the book, you will go towards book two right away. INSANITY with the plot twists.

This duet was one of my most highly anticipated releases this summer and ya'll it was so good. Bailey and Rush had such a complex relationship. Their entire story is the epitome of an emotional rollercoaster with some high highs, very low lows and so many unexpected twists and turns. I don't want to give away much with my review as I am someone who prefers to go into books blind, but I will say to please check your trigger warnings. There are some dark elements in this duet. If you are someone who enjoys dark romance and are in the mood for a HS, bully, sports romance. I highly recommend this one.

L.Ann and Claire Marta have quickly become one of my favorite author duos and I cannot wait to see what else they have in store for the future!

These authors do me damage! Sleep damage!!!
L Ann and Claire Martha know how to wind you up, spin you around, and not let go until they have you panting for more with bully romances.

After reading The Churchill Bradley Academy (CBA) series earlier this year, they have been, on my radar, and I've been eagerly waiting for this release.
There is no way not to get sucked into the world of Bailey and Rush. The writing is superb, which flows so easily to the point that you read for hours without realizing. Yet again, I was awake until the early hours of the morning, not willing to let go.

Rush is the hockey captain good guy, but unforeseen circumstances end up tearing his world apart. He needs something or someone to release his pain on, which ends up being Bailey, the new girl in town. She doesn't realize why, but this realization comes with time. I love a strong FMC in books, and Bailey is definitely that girl and puts up a fight. She doesn't back down at all, especially considering Rush's love of primal. Even though Rush is a bully, there is so much more to him. The pain and empathy you feel for him just breaks your heart.
And the letters! OMG, they just break you with the emotion for pen pals. So, so good!

As with CBA, their writing is flawless, with loads of story for the side characters and absolutely great twists.

This does have a cliffhanger, but thankfully the duet is released within a day. I honestly don't think I would be able to breathe if I didn't have book two. That's how good the cliffy is.

There are TW to be aware of, but the dark is deliciously dark and not for shock value. These writers know how to build up the darkness without losing the story.

Closing book and starting Broken Puck immediately!!!

Wow!! What a book! I knew this would be good, but this was so much better than I expected! The writing is just so good, the words flow beautifully, how can this be written by 2 separate authors, just brilliant!

I loved Rush and Bailey right from the start. My heart broke for Rush and all he went through, too much for an 18 year old, so unfair. He needed his bug to help him, so sweet he kept in contact through all those years. Bailey was great too, soft but tough when needed. She adapted well to the situations and was perfect for rush. Jamie how can he be related to Bailey? The ending was a WTF! You can’t end there!

Thankfully this duet is a rapid release so book 2 follows closely. A brilliant 5 star read and up there in one of my favourite books of the year so far.

4.5/5⭐️

Holy cow!👀

Baileys dad messes up big time and they have to move back to their old house.

Rush and his mom currently live in their old house but are obviously being evicted.

When Bailey and her family originally moved from the first house she left a letter explaining some stuff and when new people moved in someone wrote her a letter back..

They have kept writing letters to each other for 10 years but they have no idea who each other really are.

After moving back, Bailey walks into the diner and Rush walks up to her asking is she needs help.

After that moment he can’t seem to stop looking at her when she’s around.

He gives Bailey a ride home one night and realizes that she lives in his old house and this sets off a shitstorm!

He was being really nice to her and now he’s is being a bully and she has no idea why…

Eventually she realizes who he is but doesn’t say anything to him about their letters.

He’s having a really hard time after losing his mom and is blaming Bailey and her family for everything…

Being around her makes the pain go away but then when she isn’t their it’s all he feels.

He asks her to come to his hockey game and to wear his jersey. She does and then when Sofia tells him about something she overheard it goes down hill fast…..

This books ends in a cliff hanger but the second one comes out tomorrow thankfully!

I should have known.
Seriously, I should have.
When I read the last series from the minds of L. Ann and Claire Marta, I became emotionally invested in the characters.

I should have known they were going to do it to me again with Filthy Puck.

Bailey Linnett.
She moved away from her home as a child and left a note for whoever moved in. That note started a decade of writing letters back and forth to boy who became a friend. Circumstances change just before she turns 18 and in a way that turns her world upside down.

Rush Carter.
He had a happy life until a series of events make it take a turn for the worse. Almost everything he loves is ripped away from
him. He is angry. He wants someone to pay for the things that have happened recently.

Unfortunately, Bailey is in his sight and circumstances have placed her right in the line of fire.

Rush…so much tragedy in such a short amount of time. It was survivable for a bit and then something devastating happens. To say I was feeling all the emotions for Rush when it happened is an understatement.

Bailey…she KNOWS more than she’s told him. She feels for
Rush and has good reason to want to help. Unfortunately, he targets her, but she manages to stay strong and be there for him in ways he doesn’t know.

This book ends on a cliffhanger. Okay, make that TWO cliffhangers.
Did I yell out loud to the authors for doing this to me again?
Yes. Yes, I did.
Do I NEED to read the next book to find out what happens?
Yes. Yes, I do.
Do I have an inkling of who might have done it?
Yes. Yes, I do.
Do I feel confident in that inkling?
No. No, I don’t, not after what these authors put me through with their previous co-write.

This book has TWs. There are elements that might disturb readers, but I didn’t find it as dark as I was expecting. I think that is caused by getting to know the two main characters during the story and being able to feel for them. This book has the MMC as captain of his hockey team. His close teammates have his back and are there to support him in whatever choices he makes. The FMC has friends she physically left at a different school, but they didn’t drop her off their radar now that her circumstances have changed.

I enjoyed this book. I need to know what happens to Rush and Bailey, so I’m heading off to read it now.

For a high school hockey romance, this one really is interesting!

Check triggers before reading, because this one has some dark themes. Loss of a parent, knife play, and so much more. Keep in mind that this is a bulky romance.

Bailey’s family has lost everything and had to move back into their old home. Bailey had a pen pal relationship with the boy who had rented from them for 10 years. Now, Rush has been kicked out of his home shortly after losing his father. He hates the family that took his home from him.

When Rush finds out Bailey’s family is the one that evicted him and his mom, he begins to bully her. Most of this takes place after they turn 18.

There is a “wear my jersey” moment. It is a bit long, but I was hooked to find out what would happen next! Now I have to read the second book!

They’ve done it again. This book follows in the footsteps of the Churchill Bradley Academy series, and is set in the same world. Through an unfortunate decision of her Dad’s, Bailey is yanked out of her comfortable life at CBA in the summer before her senior year. She finds herself having to go to Red Creek High with the rest of the “townies” in Red Creek, the town that she used to visit when she was at CBA.

Holy Haysoos in Hawaii, this book had me on the edge of my seat, holding my breath, shouting at certain characters and fanning myself, sometimes all at the same time! While not as dark as CBA, this is a definite enemies to lovers book that ends on a major cliffhanger. Which would normally be a problem, except that the second book is literally days away. There’s so much angst between Bailey and Rush you can literally smell it, feel it, and remember what it’s like to be 18.

I’ve never been into hockey, and honestly, have never caught more than the highlights on the sports channel, but this book literally brought the game to LIFE for me. It’s so well written you lose track of actually reading and are sucked right in as if you are THERE. I highly recommend reading this. Highly.

Firstly I would like to thank this author duo for pulling me out of my reading slump with this book!
After reading The Churchill Bradley Academy Series I knew I had to get my hands on this series of books.
I don't usually like rollercoasters but this one took me on a ride that I was happily willing to get on.
I was fully invested in Rush and Bailey's story from the very beginning, the writing is so easy to read I didn't realise how quickly I was reading this.
Rush is such a broken soul that I just wanted to wrap him up in cotton wool so nothing else could hurt him and I love how Bailey stands up for herself and doesn't take Rush's shit.
I don't know what these two lace their books with but they are so addictive you just can't stop reading, I stayed up until 3am reading this and then I was hit with a double whopper of a cliffhanger that had me running to book 2. I cannot wait to see how their story finishes and I'm sure it will have my emotions all over the place until the very last page.

Special mentions goes to Kellen Travers. My heart did a happy dance (I literally squealed) when I saw him being introduced and I love it so much 🤍

Love this book!!

Wow, wow, wow!! This is the first book in the Red Creek Ravens series. It had me hooked from the first page.
Bug and R are penpals from a young age and they share their secrets and lives with each other. After ten years they end up at the same school and things get very interesting…
I love how the letters are sent throughout the story. It gives an insight to the characters inner thoughts and true feelings.
The story of Rush and Bailey is intense, full of twists and turns, unpredictable and oh my gosh what a cliffhanger ending. The first two books of the series are being released within two days so not long to wait for the next one! ❤️
There are a few TW so be certain to check them out before reading. If you love a bully romance with lots of angst and passion then this book is a must-read. 🏒⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

High school bully hockey romance written by two amazing authors! Rush Carter, good guy turned bad. Bailey Linnett the object of Rush’s torment. Rush blames everything bad that is happening in his life on Bailey and torments her. Bailey comes to realize that she has “known” Rush for most of her life and tries to rationalize this Rush she knows now with the boy she grew up writing! The way this book ended on a cliff hanger just made me eager to read the second book!

If someone had told me at the beginning of the year that I would give 5 stars to a bully high school hockey romance, I would have laughed in their face. And here I am, because L. Ann and Claire Marta are witches. Crazy talented witches who can make me fall hard for a story I shouldn't even like.
I lived, breathed, loved and cried in Red Creek and I am so not ready to leave that world.

Rush is being beaten down in life by tragedy after tragedy. Bailey’s life is turned upside down and swept out of her control due to others’ poor decisions. When Bailey’s family loses everything and are forced to move, she runs into Rush. What starts out as a promising friendship, quickly turns sour when Rush is hit by yet another tragedy. Left with no one to blame, he turns his anger, grief, and feelings of betrayal toward Bailey.

Their relationship is a toxic mess of back and forth and out of control feelings. When secrets are brought to light, things go quickly downhill.

I really enjoyed Filthy Puck and am excited to dive right in to Broken Puck. I have a feeling things will get worse for Rush and Bailey before they get better, but I am looking forward to reading about their journey towards healing and an HEA. I wouldn’t at all be upset if a few side characters took a long walk off of a short dock, though. 😂🖤

If there is one thing that L. Ann and Claire Marta always manages to excel at, it’s creating one hell of a rollercoaster of a story!

Filthy Puck and Broken Puck (book 2!) take us on a wildly tumultuous ride of heartache, hate, anger, pain, love, and “spice” with our MMC and FMC, Rush & Bailey. From childhood pen pals to enemies and then lovers, with both of our main characters experiencing so much drama and turmoil in their lives, you won’t be able to stop reading!

And another thing that our authors always achieve in their storytelling; you FEEL all the things! They have such an incredible way of really making you feel like you’re a part of the story.

Filthy Puck!!! Well the name says it all in the best way possible. I haven’t tried many Hockey books, but when I found out the collaboration of L. Ann & Claire Marta were writing one I was dying to get my eyes on those words.
Well I loved Rush and Bailey . The push and pull between them was fierce. The anger just fuelled their passion and it was scolding hot.
Oh and that ending 👀
I’ll be back shortly to review Broken puck .
If you love hockey romance this is the series that you need to be reading.

Filthy Puck - L Ann & Claire Marta

My Review:
My Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Spice: 🌶🌶🌶
Pages: 543
Genre: Romance
Tropes: Pen Pal Romance, Bully Romance, Hockey Romance

I beta read this book, then read the ARC. There is nothing that can prepare you for this book. I suggest you go in blind and be prepared to read it start to finish because it will take you over and you will not be able to put it down. It is a gripping book filled with first love, assumed betrayal, torture, angst, regret, pain and suffering, attempted murder (in my opinion) and yet a first love that will not be denied or destroyed. You will fight for Rush and Bailey with all your heart and soul as you read each word in this MUST READ book and series.

Rush Carter:

Confused, Angry, Lost
I never meant to hurt him
I only wanted to ease his pain
He sees my presence as a betrayal—an act of war.

Red Creek Raven’s hockey captain has painted me as his enemy, and no matter what I do, he’s determined to make me bleed.

Bailey Linnett:

Thief, Liar, Stunning
She thought this was a game
Taking things that didn't belong to her
Making me feel things I shouldn't—not for someone like her.

This is the first hockey romance I can ever recall reading. With that said, there was way more to this book than just hockey. There were so many twists and different relationship dynamics that were great, horrid, and both simultaneously.

Bailey is from the wealthy side of life. Rush is from the opposite. Through no fault of theirs their lives are turned upside down. The two have a bond that they don't realize they share. When Rush first sees Bailey he's drawn to her. There's an undeniable connection. Despite being uprooted from her life at CBA, Bailey starts to make a place for herself in Red Creek. She makes friends while dealing with a lot of drama with her brother and mother at home. Rush is dealing with a lot of emotional upheaval and drama of his own.

Bailey and Rush have a connection and yet Rush has a vendetta against Bailey and her family. Rush and Bailey's relationship is complicated. I don't want to give too much away but their chemistry is undeniable. I feel I couldn't possibly do this book justice via a review. All I can say is L. Ann and Claire Marta have the amazing ability to create a book where you can love and hate the same character for various reasons, some you straight up despise (I'll let you work out who those people are on your own, there were 3 for me). All in all, don't hesitate to read this book. You won't regret it.

En shaming girls for sleeping with guys ugh! Helaas helemaal uitgelezen .
'i'll scream' echt lachwekkend... Wat een deurmat

But sexy as sin hockey player , protective brother ,
Their chemistry is so on point :-)

Filthy Puck is the newest creation by L Ann and Claire Marta. This dynamic duo has done it again with another duet that they knocked out of the park. This time we have an edge of your seat hockey/bully romance which is kind of sort of set in the CBA world, albeit several years down the road, with a few Easter eggs thrown in for good measure. Bailey and Rush were phenomenal characters. Add in an exciting plot and this story kept me glued to my Kindle. Excellent story! This does end on a cliffhanger so be prepared to grab the next book in the series, Broken Puck.
