This is an intriguing book that tracks Agatha Christie's life by her English destinations--a "coffee table" book that has given me a number of ideas for our trip to England in the summer. The book quotes her autobiography and some of her mysteries, which are set in the locales mentioned in the book. This book is translated from the French--had three French authors. It also has a complete list with publishing dates of all of Christie's works. I thought I had read her autobiography, but if so, many of the details mentioned here slipped my mind. This is the kind of book that you can browse or read in depth again and again.
A very beautifully photographed & written book taking you through the places where Agatha Christie spent her youth as well as all the other places she lived & traveled. It includes her history, insights into the places used as settings for her books, & detailed information on restaurants, walks, hotels, etc. if you are a visitor to the areas.
For me, a lifelong Christie fan, this book was a pure delight. I loved learning about her inspirations and writing process. The photographs of Torquay, Devon, and other haunts from Christie's novels and real life were wonderful.
Lots of lovely pictures. The authors concentrated on how Agatha Christie's surroundings ended up in her books, but also gave a lot of biographical info.
