Kind of a dry history, though one that's pretty under-studied; if you're interested in World War II, it's a pretty important read. The book traces the Dutch experience of the war, beginning with the Nazi occupation in 1940 and tracing all aspects of life during wartime. I most enjoyed the information about resistance, though I did think it was a bit rushed. It's a good overview, though. Just perhaps not as 'exciting' as other similar works on this topic.
