Excellent read!
Munroe put together seemingly obvious stuff in a way that follows almost naturally with how we conceive purpose. It is evident that this work is seminal for most of what he has written. Understanding purpose is fundamental to understanding anything at all because it even enforces one's understanding of of understanding.
This would make an excellent group study book.

"Everything in life has a purpose. Everyone on this planet was born with and for a purpose. It is this purpose that is the only source of meaning. Without purpose, life is an experiment or a haphazard journey that results in frustration, disappointment and failure. Without purpose, life is subjective, or it is a trial and error game that is ruled by environmental influences and the circumstances of the moment. Likewise, in the absence of purpose, time has no meaning, energy has no reason and life has no precision. Therefore, it is essential that we understand and discover our purpose in life so that we can experience an effective, full and rewarding life. (Myles Munroe, In Pursuit of Purpose, Page 29)
I really enjoyed this book. It has many great insights on the topic of "Purpose". Each of us has a purpose, even a broom in a closet has a purpose. Everything in life has a purpose. YOU HAVE A PURPOSE! You are not here by accident. This generation needs something you have, and it would be a waste if you didn't discover and fulfill your purpose. A key to finding your purpose is finding what you love to do or have an innate ability to do. One quote in the book that the author says that addresses this:
For me personally, I found his insights on how purpose is like an anchor for your life. It doesn't matter what is going around you whether good or bad if you know and are acting upon your purpose, the wind and the waves will pass you by and you'll arrive at your destination because God has resolved that you fulfill your purpose and will provide all the resources you need to fulfill your purpose.

"God puts into Everything the potential and the nature for its purpose. Purpose, therefore, is accompanied by natural abilities. You are naturally like what you are supposed to do. If He didn't build it into you, He won't ask you to do it, because purpose is always accompanied by the innate qualities and characteristics it requires. You have what you need to be who you are. What you love and desire to do naturally is usually what you were born to do. Purpose allows you to be yourself. The discovery of purpose is the discovery of you."
For me personally, I found his insights on how purpose is like an anchor for your life. This is an amazing book! Dr. Myles Munroe offers his readers an understanding of the concept of purpose and how to attain the purpose for life in a righteous manner. Furthermore, the author discusses the consequences of failing to achieve the purposes for which you were created. Dr. Munroe’s concept of purpose is presented as a master of motivation for everyone and for all things. He produced a book that can help you on the path toward fulfillment, joy, and success while providing the answer to the question, “Why am I here?”

"Where purpose is not known, abuse is inevitable ..." is among the famous quotations of Dr. Myles Munroe in this book. The book helped to find clarity of my own purpose, thus going forward I am able to zoom in and focus my energies of the reason I am what I am.

Purpose, by definition, is the end of a thing, not its beginning.
God decides what He wants before He starts the process of getting it. He reveals the destination of a journey before He goes back to the beginning of the path that leads toward the destination.
It is a sad truth that countless number of persons live with a quiet desperation and some die plaqued by the vague uneasiness that somehow they have ''missed it.'' Others wander aimlessly - a few purposefully - attempting to solve the puzzle posed by life.
Hence, In Pursuit of Purpose, you will find invaluable answers to some of the puzzle posed by life.
I truly admit that there is no single book except God's Word, the Bible where you can get answers to all your questions, but there is certainly great gains drawing from the wellspring of divine revelation, life experience and intelligent scholar in the person of Dr. Myles Munroe. You will be focused on the path toward fulfilment and also getting answer to the all-encompassing question,

Dr. Myles Munroe's book in Pursuit of vision is an answer to the questions of millions of individuals in the world today. I see it as part of the answer to the growing rate of unfulfilled hearts today because it was not established on man's wisdom or words alone but was drawn from the unbreakable truth of the Bible. It redefines success as doing what you were purposed to do not what others or society commands you to do. It shows us that there is a right thing and a good thing for every individual. And if we are to live a fulfilled life we must forsake the good things of life for the right things.
I have reminded myself that each and everyone of us has a divine purpose and each and everyone of us plays a very important role that balances the scales of planet earth.
These and many other topics were discussed in the book but for me one of the most important lesson taken home was that it isn't enough to just have knowledge but we must understand it to an extent that we apply it correctly to our lives. This book therefore urges us to take a hard decision that will eventually be worth it at the end of the day; Look for your unique purpose and tirelessly and consistently run towards the actualization of that purpose with God (The Father) always by your side for without Him, we truthfully do nothing meaningful.

1. True freedom and fulfillment are possible only as you discover and understand your personal purpose.
2. You can be successful without being fulfilled. Fulfillment in life is dependent on becoming and doing what you were born to be and do, which is the true measure of success.
3. Never try to be like someone else because God designed everyone and made them perfect for their purpose.
4. Your birth is an evidence that your purpose is necessary.
5. With the multiplication of purpose comes different scopes of vision, which require different actions and responses.
6. Purpose cannot be fulfilled in isolation. The world needs you and the purpose for which you were born. You also need the purposes of others to fulfill your purpose.
7. Ignorance of purpose does not cancel purpose.
8. No matter how good your intentions may be, if you don’t know the purpose for something, or you choose to ignore it, you will abuse it.
9. God never requires anything of His creations that He didn’t build into them. Everyone has what they need to be who they are.

The first chapter of this book is promising. But everything else falls short.
First off, there are way too many repeated ideas. I lost count of how many times Munroe (God rest his soul) referenced 'a manufacturer making a product with a purpose' to describe all the principles argued in the book such as 'purpose is inherent,' purpose determines function,' 'purpose predicts potential' and so on: it appeared to be the only ideal there is. Some ideas are also overly simplistic. Then, everything slowly morphs into contradictory arguments, and as Monroe gets into full-blown preacher mode, he asserts that this panacea called 'finding your purpose' has the power to even shield you from premature death. Eventually, his advice to the 'Third World' (America, Europe included) is to avoid comparing oneself to others and 'shrugging off the immense pressure to conform to standards set by others.'
This book could easily be summarized into a thirty minute sermon with adequate time to spare for communion before mid day.

This is an incredible book that I cannot recommend enough. If you have been going through life wondering; "what's this all about," this is the book for you. I don't know where to begin but it forced me to take a critical look at my life and ask myself serious questions about where I was heading with it. Have you ever wished that there was a syllabus for life, a document you could reach out for to tell you how to live your life? Well this book isn't it, but I'll tell you what it will do; it will clear your mind of distractions and cause you to zoom in on the single most important thing in life- your purpose, and when you have a purpose the rest is easy. So don't waste any time, get it. I really regret not reading it when I had heard about it 13 years earlier.
Sadly the author has since passed on but am I glad he wrote this before he died.

I have been watching Myles Munroe'videos for a while now and I learnt so much about the words of God and why God has created me. This book is pure value for everyone who lives on this planet,Christian or not Christian. This book gave me a total different view on my life and why I am here. I recommend this book to everyone, wherever you are at the stage of your life. As Dr Myles Munroe said: "Don't rob us from your gift".

As always, Myles Munroe has written a book I will quote from other than the Bible, his wisdom and how he writes it in his books is nothing short of greatness! Really enjoyed this one and its not five stars purely for just how long it took me to read, meaning the beginning could of had a bit more of a shorter introduction of chapters. Other than that, a great read i recommend believers and unbelievers!

I’m not sure why I was kinda expecting a step by step guide but the lack of that guide didn’t deter from the wealth of knowledge that is this book. I felt it basically defined purpose and fully explained the benefits of living your purpose. Also shook me into never accepting to reach the end of my days without discovering and knowing my purpose.

A very good book as is everything I’ve read or heard from the late Dr. Munroe. I rated it 3 stars because I was looking for more about how to recognize purpose and adjust life to walk in it. I’ve heard a lot of what was in this book before probably bc other preachers have shared it. It’s solid if you’ve never heard anything Biblical about purpose. I need more though not sure what to read next.

I’m grateful to my unit leader for suggesting I read this book. It required careful reading on my part. I don't think I've ever given the word "purpose" much thought in my whole life. Or perhaps I have, but I didn't mean it seriously.
The book opened my eyes to a lot of dimensions of purpose. And all I can say is, "It’s an excellent read."

If there is one book (next to Bible) which everyone should read in their lifetime. It is this book! I dont know anybody that could expound the power of purpose than Myles Munroe. I dont any.

Very insightful and enlightening
I love the way the writer presents the concepts about purpose with utmost simplicity. I also appreciate and respect the fact that he uses the scriptures as a basis for his arguments.

Great book. What I got out of this book: "Only the manufacturer of a product could tell you its purpose. Only God could tell you your purpose. If you don't know this truth, you will live an unfullfilling life living up to everyone else's expectations. "

Don’t understand the hype in this book. There is zero instruction on how to find purpose. It’s an entire book discussing how important purpose is with biblical references and random facts. Miss for me.
