Robert Louis Stevenson was a Scottish novelist, poet, essayist, and travel writer. In early life Stevenson got interest on writing by a two traveler. Treasure hunt was his first work that he accomplished after Stevenson settled in Europe. This story was based from Stevenson’t journey and voyage. Treasure Island was about one young boy name Jim Hawkins who are full of adventurous mind. Jim tries to find the Island with treasure but he struggles because the pirates take over the ship. Even though Jim struggles with lot’f of accidents and fights, but he finally finds the treasure. I thought this book was great because it gives a adventurous mind to many children. Right now some of the kids resist to take a risk even my friends! This book will be a great source to give them opportunity and take a risk.
The first part that caught my mind was 3rd chapter where pirates came into Jim’s store. This part made me so exiting because it actually begun the actions of the story. When pirates came in and mentioned “Black Dog”(22pg) I felt like this person was a bad guy. Just when black dog came in and gave black dotted paper to captain he said “I’m sorry bill but business is business”(24pg). Mostly black means temptation, bad situation, or death. All this thinking made me thought that something serious is going to happen. When I kept went on I knew that my guess was correct. Few hours later the pirates came into Jim’s store and started to break and kill people, Jim ran away and all the police came in. Even though my thoughts were right I kind of felt that this chapter was little obvious. Personally I don’t like obvious stories but because it was unusual day that made me exiting I kept read until the end of chapter.
Now the part that made me so nervous was chapter 11. In this chapter, Jim was walking around the borer of ship but suddenly he felt hungry and went into the apple bottle. While he was eating apple inside their he heard some talking between the cook silver and other people, and they said “We are pirates! How long do we need to stay like this silver!”(75pg). When Jim was about the flee one pirates came and tried to grab the apple but he didn’t saw Jim. I’m pretty sure that I have never been this serious and nervous while I was reading a book. This part was just amazing, I thought it was very creative to make a situation.
I really recommend this book to many children and my classmate who has suffer with taking risk and showing up to other people. This book will teach them a great lesson and they will eventually find out how to take risk. Also I really admire the main character Jim who are very adventurous unlike me. I’m energetic and positive, but I don’t really take risk. I think by reading this book I actually kind of changed such as involving more in activity and participating in class.

Read this with Damon. It was good to have a simplified version. Maybe he will want to read the real thing when he is older.

I had never read this story even it is very famous. I realized that this story affects many people. That reminds me of "One piece," and "The pirates of Caribbean."

Treasure Island by Robert Louis Stevenson is quite a decent book, but the plot and the characters’ personalities seem a bit too simple and unrealistic. In the beginning of the story, Jim Hawkins followed Dr. Livesey, Squire Trelawney, Captain Smollet, and the other sailors they hired to go on a voyage from England to find the hidden treasure on a mysterious island after they had found a map in a dead captain’s chest. But the journey to find the buried treasure was filled with challenges and difficulties because the crew members they had were not entirely loyal. Their lack of loyalty was unquestionable since they had the desire to obtain the treasure. As Jim Hawkins explored the island, he stumbled upon Ben Gunn, who claimed to be once the dead captain’s man and said he could get them the treasure they wanted in exchange of taking him back home. Meanwhile, Dr. Livesey, Squire Trelawney, and Captain Smollet, in fear of having the ship taken over by the rest of the crew, carried their supplies to a cabin on the island. After a series of conflicts, most of the members were killed. When the crew finally reached the designated spot as drawn on the map, they only found two gold coins and a big hole on the ground. Then, they followed Ben into a cave, saw the treasures they had been searching for, and then carried them back to their ship. It does have a somewhat good ending after all as they succeeded in returning to England, but the ending is not very astonishing because it is a bit cliche.
In the whole, this is a book worth reading with such an interesting series of events and delicate arrangements. With a series of incidents that happened to the protagonist under uncertain conditions, this adventure seemed to be decided thoroughly by luck. From the mysterious beginning to the satisfying end, this story shows how Jim Hawkins accidentally got involved with uncertainty. Although the clash for the treasures is predictable, and the conflicts are also expected, it was still thrilling and exciting to see these fights occur. The ending is also foreshadowed quite obviously, with a little unexpectancy when they found no treasures after they had arrived at the spot. My only dissatisfaction with the story is that some of the plot is too simple. For example, the process of combating seems to have gone a little too easily, and the most dangerous guy looks as if he was a totally different person after they had found the treasures. He was such a cruel man, and there were chances that he could revolt against the rest of the crew, claim all the properties, and take over the ship. Yet he traveled with them and left the island, then slunk away quietly with a small fortune. Anyone under the similar circumstances would very likely have insubordinate behaviors, and these behaviors were exactly the kind of things that happened way too often. Under these circumstances, I consider this to be a not-so-subtle story, but it does have some impressive points.
