Myles Munroe has such an immense gifting in the ability to teach and transform followers into leaders, also for those who are in positions of leadership to inspire them to become greater leaders in their leadership roles and calling in life. The passion in this book is radiant and electric. It is a book that will reveal the potential in every person with what potential and ability we have been created with. The power and potential of our spiritual DNA. It's awesome how this book is so richly referenced with the Word of God. The emphasis is also in defining the difference between the leadership spirit and the spirit of leadership. This book is really for those who are willing to take action in pursuing a more purposeful and productive life, based on the integrity and principals of the Word of God. You don't need to be a Christian to benefit from it, but the benefit you obtain from it will more than likely lead you to become a Christian. This book contains true salvational influence.

Dr. Munroe left a rich, insightful, and impactful word for us to grow as leaders. I am filled with awe and gratitude to have had an opportunity to meet him through his writing of this book. He's left an indelible impression on my mind. I do plan to reread this book and highly recommend it to anyone who aspires to be a spiritual leader or anyone who is not aspiring to be a spiritual leader but desires to lead with an attitude that will ignite others to discover and follow their passions with an attitude of fearlessness.

Dr Munroe takes a fresh, thought-provoking unorthodox approach to the subject of leadership. He argues that "In every follower there is a hidden leader" and that the hidden leader will emerge when two things happen.

1. The follower understands that they have The Leadership Spirit (inherit capacity to lead by virtue of being created in the image of God)
2. The follower learns The Spirit of Leadership (the mindset and attitudes of a true leader)

I particularly liked the fact that he didn't end the book without covering the 10 attitudes that a true leader needs. I found those to be very helpful and actionable.

I didn't give it 5 stars because it's overly long. It starts out strong, drags in the middle and ends strong. I recommend this book along with the accompanying 12 DVD set available. Both the book and the DVDs are great resources

I read this book in 2010 and had an awesome encounter with Dr. Myles Munroe's philosophy why his lifelong focus has been to grow followers into leaders. Dr. Munroe convinced me that everyone of us was created a leader in a specific sphere of human activity and or thought.

It takes an interesting build-up and culminates with the concept that underlies the whole book - we are ALL leaders. We were created leaders! Thank God he didn't move straight to principles like focus, persistence, teamwork, etc until the end of the book.

Leadership has been erroneously understood by many as an area meant to be occupied by few chosen individuals and they themselves have been enlisted to be followers for life.
The Spirit Of Leadership by Dr. Myles Munroe is a book packaged for everyone that has been plagued with this wrong mindset about leadership.
There is no ''Born Leader''. The theory which suggests that certain of us have aptitudes for leadership while others do not is false.
Leadership is no much a matter of APTITUDES (Natural Ability To Acquire Knowledge Or Skill) as it is ATTITUDES (Disposition Or State Of Mind).
Leadership is 20% talent, skill, and technical knowledge and 80% ATTITUDE.
Moses' fear of others, poor sense of self-worth, and low estimation of his own abilities were challenged by Abba Father, and he was commanded to go and deliver the charge of ''Let My People Go'' to the most powerful government of his day. His self-concept, self-awareness, and estimation of his ability changed almost overnight, and the Spirit Of Leadership was ignited within him. His attitude was changed forever.
Leadership consists of certain, fundamental principles which can be learned and applied by anyone.
The world is searching for the man characterised by positive qualities, personal initiative, prompt decision, superiority, force of character, kindness and consideration of others, the ability to plan and put an undertaking through to a finish.

LESSON LEARNT
The Spirit Of Leadership is a spirit of discipline. The disciplined lifestyle is what makes the difference.
Cultivating the Spirit Of Leadership is a CHOICE. Therefore, be determined to cultivate the Spirit Of Leadership and rise above the limitation of your past experiences, other people's opinions and the stifling context of our so-called social norms.
I recommend you study this book so as to have a better orientation cum mindset about LEADERSHIP
