A nice basic approach to all things design (remember this was written 30 years ago). The authors are definitely not writers by trade, but most of them offer great insight into why design is important and what details effect the look and function of everyday products, symbols, environments. Amazingly, the style of this book has cycled back into fashion as the 70s era designs are very commonplace in contemporary culture.
