I don't think I've read anything by Trondheim yet that I didn't love. It's just so....fun. Here, we've got monsters, time travel, embassies, spies, explosions, and tons of jokes. Definitely fun.

Might have worked better for me if I had been familiar with Lapinot and the overly enthusiastic journalist cat from the earlier works. But this was what the library had. I got worn out by the unrelenting pace of events. Scary monsters. Police nonsense. Fires in basements.

Zany high-paced adventure story with anthropomorphic animals. Tronheim's artwork is pretty good. The panel layout is typical of much European 50 page comics, small panels with lots going on in each page.

The story goes all over the place, but it's essentially about 3 people unravelling a conspiracy involving a substance that turns people into giant monsters. Not really anything here that would make me want to track down volume 2.

Cartoony drawing doesn't prepare you for the zany-yet-wry noir spoof with monsters! It's wird bordering on horrifffic, yet cute and funny too. There were a few dropped jokes, and teh art did get on my nerves a little (it looks like a kids' book) but overall it was quite entertaining.
