A fugitive from justice, an impossible mission, and a taste for murder
Nail-biting? You’ll chew your fingers off!
Hiding away in a remote corner of Papua New Guinea, odd jobbing as a photographer and trek guide, ex-mountaineer Peter Blake stays under the radar. A wise move, given he’s wanted by the FBI.
But when a shady character who “deals in information” approaches him, flanked by a couple of heavies, Peter’s luck begins to wane. Amos Sanford knows about his dodgy past as an environmental activist and has found a way to use it.
Under threat of being handed over to the bureau, Peter agrees to help a team head into the remote Star Mountains range to retrieve part of a fallen satellite containing valuable data.
But the motley crew of techies and thugs are ill-prepared for the dangerous terrain. And anything but united. Worse, they are not the only people on the mountain, seeking the prize.
It seems like an impossible mission. And that’s just the staying alive part. What will befall Peter when man and nature throw all they have against him?
This edge-of-your-seat page turner is written by world-renowned Professor of Anthropology, Riall Nolan. His years spent in far-flung corners of the world studying man in his habitat have paid dividends as the author has turned his capable mind to writing fiction. You will not find a more exciting read than MURDER MOUNTAIN, unless of course you pick up one of his forthcoming releases!
You may have read action thrillers by Lee Child, Mark Dawson, and Wilbur Smith. You may have read mountaineering books like BEYOND POSSIBLE, TOUCHING THE VOID, THE WHITE SPIDER, or INTO THIN AIR. When these two genres collide, you have Riall Nolan’s MURDER MOUNTAIN. Prepare to be seriously entertained!

I'm an anthropologist and writer of adventure thrillers. I set odd and quirky characters down in unusual places, wind them up and watch what they do. Take a look at my Max Donovan adventure series, and tell me what you think.
I don't read many adventure stories, but this one was not bad at all - it wasn't great but it wasn't bad either. The plot was pretty good and it rattled along at a brisk pace, while the setting was interesting - Papua New Guinea and the Star Mountains in Indonesia. Adventure stories are mostly plot driven, so I wasn't expecting much from the characters, and I wasn't disappointed - the baddies were predictably bad and the goodies were nice people caught up in the plot. This was an interesting book with a good plot, great for a quick read or if you want to read something not too demanding.
4.5 Stars. A riveting, propulsive, pulse-pounding action thriller. A dangerous and deadly adventure set in Papua New Guinea's mountains and Indonesian West Papua. Non-stop action doesn't get more frantic and furious than this. Murder Mountain is a short thriller of 192 riveting pages. The book is Written by Riall Nolan, an anthropologist who has lived and worked in New Guinea and describes the remote locations and mountains well. He is a professor of Anthropology in the USA. The book is available from Kindle Unlimited. This is the second thriller I have read by Nolan, and I look forward to more of his books.
I had a very hard time putting this book down. It was compelling with great characters, perfect descriptions of the locations, action and twists and turns that keep you glued to the story. A wonderful and amazing tale with a hero that surprises you at every turn. Read it ASAP.
A really good read, this is my third Rial Nolan book,so I have (want) to do a review. This book is just my type of book, action /adventure/violence and intrigue .looking for my next Rial Nolan book.
This is a new author for me. He who knows exactly how to spin a tale and weave it with twists and turns throughout. Great characters race their way to a really action packed finale.
Lots of suspense as well as twists and turns. Nolan weaves a good tale. I enjoyed reading this book although it’s a little different genre than I normally read.
This is a perfectly plotted and delivered action thriller set in Papua New Guineau and Indonesia. It reads like a Boy's Own adventure for grown ups. Full of icy cliffhangers, and suckerpunch twists, readers will be on a knife-edge throughout and at the end, breathlessly pant for more.
