I read a printed version of the ebook. It was a skinny book with a beautiful cover.
I think it could have been much more fleshed out, reading like an unedited outline of an idea for a #.5 in the series. I could have enjoyed a full version of this more than this quick ebook.

Die Short-Storie ist im Vergleich zu anderen Kurzgeschichten recht knapp bemessen, überzeugt aber in vielen Punkten! Ich mochte die Idee von den Eternals, von Creatures und von den Planeten. Ith, halb Mensch und halb Eternal wird von seinem Vater auf einen fremden Planeten geschickt und wird dort von einem Wesen namens Mithrith aufgezogen, als diese stirbt fühlt sich Ith alleine und träumt immer wieder von einer wünderschönen weisshaarigen Frau. Bis eines Tages sie wirklich erscheint und ihm erklärt, dass sie geschaffen wurde als Eternal auf dem Planeten Stier um zusammen mit ihm die Seelen zu befreien, die von einem Gott namens Ramien, auf diesem Planeten namens Kelari, gepeinigt werden. Zusammen machen sie sich auf den Weg um die Seelen zu befreien und um aus ihnen neue Wesen erschaffen zu können, die dann den Planeten wieder beherbergen sollen. Auch bringt Aetha die Erinnerungen von Ith wieder zurück, da sie damals von seinem Vater versiegelt worden waren zum Selbstschutz für Ith. Schließlich gelingt es den beiden die Seelen zu befreien, was aber mit Ramien geschieht, wird nicht geklärt, weshalb ich nicht die volle Punktzahl geben konnte (wahrscheinlich taucht er in den nächsten Bänden noch auf). Die Autorin besitzt viel Fantasie, bringt diese dem Leser näher und hat einen angenehmen, leichten Schreibstil. Ich mochte das Setting und die Figuren, besonders Ith hat es mir angetan! <3

Aligned is an Immortal Essence short story with a lot of hooks that have absolutely set me up for reading the next book “Beguiled”.
A young human male wakes up in a new world called Kelari with no knowledge of how or why he’s there. The only life he sees nearby is a creature he thinks of like a dragon called Mithrith She becomes his loving caretaker. After she’s gone, he’s alone and has constant visions of a female who finally comes to him. She tells him she is the Mother of Light and that he is the Father of Darkness and the two together come from Stiel and are known as eternals. They were placed on this planet serve and heal Kelari and save the higher beings whose spirits were trapped in a place called Helker by an evil creature called Ramien. Fantastic—Right? Such a good short read.

**this review is for the entire Immortal Essence series**
If you're having a hard time understanding what the heck is going on, and who these people, Ith and Aetha are, and how do they relate to Venus and Michael.. know you are not alone. I can absolutely understand why people don't rate this very high, because it IS a bit rough at first. The advice I can give you? Stick with it.
Once you get past a bit of confusion and moments of asking yourself, "is this even making sense, or have I had too many cocktails?", you get immersed in this fantasy land that's phenomenal. You have to use your imagination, but isn't that what most books are about? I love the characters, the time, the places. It's so far out there, that you can't help but to wish you were a part of their world.

If you can get past the first rough pages, you probably wont be disappointed. I recommend if fully.

wow well i have been reading Rashelles books for a few years now and i bought this the box set that is so i will be reading the whole series and will be reviewing with each book i read ending with Earth's Guardian which comes out in 2 days from now on the 25th of August . /
now here are the Characters and then i will be saying questions after lol
Mithrith she protects him for 8 years til she passes away
Aetha is the mother of light
Stick {Ith}{ the father of all things } though he has no idea who he really is so is a nickname
then Ramien who wants the souls .
Ith and Aetha are to save them ,
so here is the first question will they save the souls will Ith truly know he belongs find this and more out when you get the box set may save more that way but can buy them individually as well . stay tuned for Exiled

This was a very short introduction to the Immortal Essence series. We meet Ith, who wakes up in a cave with no memories of how he got there. He is raised by Mithrith, a dragon like creature. Ith soon meets Aetha. Aetha is an essence and body that was created for him. Both have been given the task of defeating Ramien and freeing the souls he has ensnared. Together they will liberate them and create bodies for them that will look human but with different organs, so that when they turn sixteen they will be bestowed with immortality.
Overall, this was okay. I thought it would be longer and it turned out to be a short story. It didn't really grab me. I have not read exciled yet but I hope it makes better sense since I have read Aligned.

For those that read the rest of the series this is a great way to figure out where it all started. There were a few confusing parts but it was a great story. RaShelle has a great imagination and can make you see what she does.

This prequel to RaShelle Workman's Immortal Essence series fell flat for me. The story didn't engage me or grasp my attention. In fact, I'm not really interested in reading anymore of the series. While I can appreciate that this is origin story of Ith and Aetha, this short story was just "meh."
