Well-written Texan-based Western novel with realistic cowboy dialect in this highly recommended novel for those who enjoy this genre. Story revolves around a young woman, married young, who is jointly abused by her older husband and his brother who owns a ranch adjoining it. When her husband dies from a lightning strike, the brother wants to claim her and the land in dispute of the will which he believes was forged by a family-friended lawyer. To protect herself, she claims (according to law) a reprobate about to hang and married him for protection. However, (Grandy), being owned and bossed by a woman, doesn’t set well with him. Obviously, they both have much to reconcile including the brother’s continuous harassment and harmful acts. (Explicit sexual scenes, despite in-depth relationship building). Otherwise, a mesmerizing cowboy western that will be sure to entertain the reader from beginning-to-end.

Grandy was given a choice - marry widow Zanna or hang as a criminal. He took one look at this woman in widow-weeds and agreed to her terms which was nearly a slave on her farm. From before dawn until dark, he was to work on her demanding schedule. This book depicts horrors Zanna's dead husband and his brother dealt her which included rape, beatings, broken bones and other acts that brought injury to her and joy to them.
This story-line is fascinating and at times, sad. I loved how Grandy came into her life and eventually understood why she was a hardened soul. Thanks for great writing.

Promise (Price and Passion Book 2)
This writer certainly knows how to write a book that pushes all my buttons. and keeps you waiting to see just what comes next. Suzanne was a widow who desperately needed a real man to be a helper for her farm, so why not get someone to help her. Did it matter that she had to go to the jail to do it? What happens after that is nobody's business. Or is it? Great Read!

Granville and Suzanna
This is a tale that has a grim beginning and progresses to a beautiful love story. Grandville is sitting in a jail cell pondering his fate with the hangman. Canna is a beautiful young widow that survived a life with and evil abusive husband and he died at the hand of God. He had an equally evil brother that has evil thoughts about his widow. You will love the way Grandy and Zanna find their happily ever after.

Heartwarming story
Lots of confusion among the characters in this story, mostly from the unwillingness to communicate with each other. But they have a strong sense of belonging to the farm and each other. Makes for a good read!
