There she finds the strangest revelation yet: not only is she descended from a long line of shapeshifters; Amelia's firstborn is destined to lead the pack to dominion over all others. Now power hungry shifters everywhere will stop at nothing to share in that prophecy. Choosing a mate is the only way to end the violence, but how can she be expected to choose a man she's known for less than a week? At the heart of this struggle, Amelia is torn between Chase, who makes her pulse race with a single sultry glance, and Cutter, a reclusive but tempting loner with secrets of his own. Can fiercely independent Amelia find happiness with the pack, or will she rebel under the pressure and take her chances on her own?

My Thoughts - 5 out of 5 Unicorns - I loved it!!!
***Received a copy of the ebook for an honest review

The new cover is awesome and definitely fits the book. It would definitely entice me to pick it up off the shelf :)

This is the first book in what I hope is a series I will see more of :) It is novel length and even though I have read it marked at young adult, I say it is definitely more new adult since the main character is 21 years old. This is also the first book of Lisa’s that I have read which is weird because I own a whole bunch of her books that I need to get to reading soon :)

This is Millie’s story. Her life has been sheltered, and she is naïve to the world she belongs too. This is her story of growth and learning about her world. Chase is the golden boy, but he is also arrogant and makes me want to slap him throughout the book, but at the very end, he redeems himself thanks to Scarlet. Scarlet rocks and she is Millie’s rock and friend throughout. Adele….well she is not my favorite, but you will have to read to see why :) Cutter is something else, but from the beginning, I just loved him through everything. There is plenty of action, drama, mystery, fighting, betrayal, and so much more to keep you entranced while reading. I completely loved it and was pulled right into the story. Lisa’s descriptions, characters, and story made this book wonderful, and it has definitely put her on my radar as an author I need to read more of :) I know my mom has read the first 4 book in the bloodlines series and loved them, so I know where I will go next!!!

I highly recommend this book to wolf shifter lovers especially if you already love Lisa’s writing!!!

I'm a Lisa Olsen fan. I love her Forged Bloodlines series, but I have to say I was sorely disappointed with this novel so that's the end of this series for me. This is a very basic generic romance with a annoying female and stereotypical males who happen to be werewolves. Nothing in here that garnered my attention.

A young woman on the run, after her parents are killed, her brother torn apart in front of her, and she doesn't grieve, or think about them even in passing, runs to her grandmother, takes a wad of cash from her and starts flirting with her cousin. She's supposed to be some sort of saviour for shifters, and she just sort of accepts this and flirts her way on dates, walks etc, etc. None of this worked for me with so many tropes, contrived characters and plot devices stacking up. I almost lost my will to live, well read anyway. This is just a huge no.

"Don't become so focused on what you've lost that you don't see what you still have."

Let me start this review by saying, I am not a paranormal reader. Besides Twilight (yes, I know...) and a few PNR books here and there, this just isn't my go to genre. I feel like that is all about to change, thanks to Lisa Olsen.

When Lisa contacted me to see if I wanted to read Moonsong, I went in with an open mind. At first, I was afraid that everything would just feel fake or there'd be terms that I wouldn't understand. Honestly? Once I was able to sit down and really start reading, I couldn't put it down. The story pulled me in and Lisa's writing... I can't say enough good things.

'And there was nothing between them but a cushion of space that sparked with a current of excitement.'

This novel has a little of everything. There were times when I felt the butterflies right along with Millie. Other times, I couldn't help but laugh (loved the 'Say Anything' reference). There was just enough steamy parts without being over the top.

There is a love triangle, which can easily be hit or miss, if not done correctly. Lisa did a great job of keeping you vested in it. As the story progresses, you know who Millie should end up with. The problem is her grandmother has other plans. They say that when you mate, you mate for life. Will Millie choose her mate based on what's best for the family? Or will she choose based on what her heart tells her?

Thank you, Lisa Olsen, for pulling me out of comfort zone and delivering a story that has opened my eyes to a new genre.

I'm being very kind with 3 stars.

This book started out like most books for me lately- I loved the potential for a great story at the beginning, then it became a dull YA and the romance was boring and predictable. The last 50 pages were nothing but a sickening happily ever after description.
I didn't like the switch in POV. It was very inconsistent, and spoiled who was going to be the big love interest. There's no point starting a love triangle if you make one of the suitors a narrator. I think I would have understood Millie/Amelia/Amelie (Author, Pick a name!) if it was all in first person narration.

The emotional development in the book was very implausible, which is one of the worst things in books for me. Millie loses her whole family at the beginning of the book, yet it doesn't affect her one bit. She laughing and kissing the next day. And as usual, a YA protagonist falls in love within 5 minutes of meeting her "soulmate".

I liked the prophetic aspect of the story, with Millie's first born child being this special person in the shifter world. Reminded me of the Dark Swan series (but less dark and exciting. More timid YA).
So this book was okay- Actually make it 2.5 stars.

This is the first book I have read by the author and I have to say I thoroughly enjoyed it. I loved the book so much that I honestly didn't want to put it down. For me, the romance was quite beautiful. Yes, there was sort of a love triangle but I felt the way she developed it within the story fit perfectly. Cutter stole my heart. He had depth and a sadness that spoke to me and of course the fact that he was a strong, handsome werewolf only sweetened it for me.

If you enjoy paranormal romance, I suggest you give this book a try. It is a quick and addicting read. I plan to get the next book in the series.

I just finished this book and I must say I enjoyed it (and I kinda love books with love triangles.) Though I wrinkled my nose a little at the apparently big age difference between Cutter and Millie and some parts were a little rushed, but the story isn't that long so I guess it's acceptable. Nevertheless I loved the characters, and it's interesting how Olsen told the story about werewolves- sorry, shifters, and their traditions. I would like to read more of the that, but unfortunately this is only a one-shot.

Moonsong was a good read about young girl discovering she is from a family of shifters. Her strong will and determination make her wanted by a few suiters. I love the playfulness that the characters shared.

Wish this was a part of a series, would love to see what happens a happening ending for the "cousins". Maybe Lisa Olsen would consider this for future possibilities.

The writing was good, the plot was good, great characters too. Millie is my favorite kind of character she is smart, has a good heart and doesn't take crap from anyone. I hope there will be more to this series I'd love to read more about Millie and Cutter.

Book one of the Cutter’s folly wolves. An interesting story of paranormal shapeshifter romance. I liked reading this book I loved the characters, I loved the storyline. This book was well written.

Amelia aka Millie is heading to her grandmothers home in cutter’s folly, a woman she’s never met because her family has just been killed. She’s never met her grandmother Adele before. Adele tells her the truth about herself her family were killed because she’s part of an ancient prophecy she learns her real name is Amelie LaRoche and she is very important to the pack that’s right her family are shapeshifters they turn into wolves however she cannot. Her grandmother offers her protection until she mates and whelps a child as the prophecy ordains. Millie meets her adopted cousins Scarlett and Chase whom she shares a flirty attraction too but that doesn’t compare to the attraction she has with the recluse artist Cutter living in the woods. He believes himself cursed because his wife Celia cheated on him despite being mated and their son Ian disappeared. He abandoned his duties to the pack. After saving Millie from a mountain lion he finds himself drawn to her. Soon she has both gorgeous shapeshifters competing for her affections but it is the slightly grumpy Cutter that steals her heart she chooses him as her mate much to the displeasure of Adele who tells them that Chase and Cutter will compete for her and the title of alpha. Cutter ultimately wins and they celebrate however Adele isn’t finished she gets wolves to attack them only to be defeated and the horrifying truth to come out that Adele was the one who ordered the attack on Millie’s parents and brother Luc. Knowing she’s facing banishment chooses to kill herself. Cutters divorce comes through, millie and cutter mate properly and she’s pregnant.

This is Lisa's new werewolf paranormal romance story. I must say I did enjoy it. I am a huge fan of Lisa's ever since I read "Wake Me When The Sun Goes Down". It is one of my top favorites. Ok, back to Moonsong. Amelia and her family are attacked by werewolves, killing her parents and barely escaping herself, Amelia runs to the only family she has left, her grandmother. She has never met her before but desperately needs her help. Amelia finds out that everyone in her family are shifters, including her but she is unable to actually change shape. Not only is she a shifter but she is the one the prophecy believes to unite all the shifters. In order for the prophecy to come to pass, she must choose a mate and conceive a child. That child will become a great leader. She meets Chase, whom she feels an instant attraction to, and considers him to maybe be her mate. If he could only get over his dominate personality. Walking through the woods one day, Amelia is attacked by a mountain lion, that's when she meets Cutter. She can't figure out why this man who pushes her away and wants nothing to do with her, intrigues her so. Cutter has a past that would break any woman's heart and Amelia is determined to no let him push her away. If Amelia and Cutter are to be together, Cutter will have to fight for her with Chase. All along Amelia finds betrayal from the one person she thought she could trust, her grandmother. With her on plans for Amelia, she is determined to make sure Chase is her mate, even if it means hurting Amelia.

If you like shifter stories then you will like this. Its cute, its exciting, its sad, it pulls at each part of you. I am excited to continue to read more stories from Lisa.

I couldn't put this book down! The characters are fantastic and fun. The story line was fantastic, it didn't feel rushed and was beautifully written. Lisa makes you fall in love with the characters. ( even ones you swear you hate at the beginning of the book ) And I could feel the love between the two main characters, something that rarely happens for me in a book. I even got butterflies reading it. I also loved how she tied up the ending, you're left wanting more but also satisfied with the outcome. I would give it more stars if I could...and hope Lisa comes back later to add a few more stories to this book. 5 stars

That was my review from a couple of years ago and now I come back to you and say that it got even better! I am a lover of the steamier books and I was super excited to hear that Lisa would be spicing it up a bit, and she didn't disappoint. This book, for me, just went from ~ I love this book~ to ~ Holy Steamy bath tub scene, wolfman! I love this book!! Still gets 5 stars from me, with a side of HELL YES!

Moonsong is about Amelie LaRoche, who knew her name as Amelia Singer, also known as Millie. She had been hidden as a child in an attempt to keep her safe from those who would want to control or hurt her. Millie is from a long line of shifters, and she is destined to be the mother of the leader of the pack which will start a ruling line of pack leaders. She is supposed to fulfill the prophecy which says she will be Mother to them all. But she doesn’t want to be special or different. She has lost everything she has known in just twenty-four hours and now has to embrace a whole new life. Now Millie has to find a mate and give birth to her first born so that she can end the danger. Who will she choose? And why?

This book is a really good book for enjoys paranormal stories. The characters develop very fast but with an understanding of who they are. The story flowed really well and I found myself reluctant to put it down I would recommend this book to anyone who loves romances, with some danger and paranormal influence. I look forward to reading this the next book in this series!!

Wolves attack Amelia Singer family, her brother tells her to travel west to were her grandmother whom she never even knows about lives. Upon finding her grandmother she learns there are such things as werewolves and those are what killed her parents and brother. Amelia learns that she is The Prophecy. Now power hungry shifters everywhere will stop at nothing to share in that prophecy. Amelia meets Chase and her grandmother approves of this relationship. Yet Amelia meets Cutter a loner and more. She is drawn to both men yet her grandmother only approves of Chase.
What happens next is made out of nightmares.

I really enjoyed this book. All the characters are well rounded and the storyline is very believable. Amelia is such a likeable character and you really want her to find happiness, well hold your breathe as their are those that are going to try and stop that with their very lives or lives of her friends.

I enjoyed this book. I love werewolves and this one definitely satisfied my needs:) The storyline was intricate and kept me guessing.

Amelia "Millie" was a great character. I admired her tenacity and her unwavering love. Even Scarlett and Chase played their parts well. Adele was also an interesting character with such an air of mystery around her.

The only thing I was less than pleased with, was the age difference between Amelia and Cutter. I would have appreciated a little less of an age gap.

The story didn't have that WOW factor, but was great none the less. I really enjoyed the read and recommend it to all paranormal romance New Adult fans. I give this read four glittery stars!

Tragedy strikes Amelia's family. She is shocked and amazed in the space of a bloody night to discover that she has been living with a family of wolf shifters all her life. She flees by request of her brother to seek refuge with her pack in Cutters Folly and find her Alpha Grandmere LaRoche. The story is complex, fast paced, full of passionate romance and lycan lore. I could not put the book down once I started reading. I relate to strong heroine characters and loyal heroes full of character. Olsen delivers an entertaining read as well as characters that you will admire long past the story ending. I bought Book 2, SCARLET MOON and started it right away. If it's as good as MOONSONG, I'm confident of another good read. -G

A different kind of wolf story.

This story starts out with Millie on the run. She runs to her Grandmother. What she finds there is a well told story. Chase, the handsome Beta. Scarlett, the lovely cousin. Cutter the recluse. Adele, the Alpha Grandmother. This book has lots of action and adventure. Mystery and intrigue. Fun and Romance. As the story unwinds we get to know the characters better. I was drawn to one male more than the other. Amelia has to decide which she wants. What happens is the culmination of a great story. Please pick up your copy today. From a true Fan. Pam James...

Nice Start To A Seemingly Good Series

Moonsong, the first book in the Wolves of Cutters Folly was a very nice start to the series. It starts off with Millie running for her life to a grandmother she never met or knew about. Her story goes from there into mayhem, secrets, deceit, and new romance. The hero's who vie for her attention are to say the least, opposites in just about every way. The storyline was intriguing and kept you wanting to turn the next page just to see what happens next. Worth the read with subtle romance scenes and pretty clean considering I'm used to reading about more blood and gore with most of my action romance novels.

I sometimes get the impression that I would have liked this book a lot more had it been written in first person.

Not to mention I found Amelia very, very annoying and hard to connect with. I mean, a few days after her family's death and they weren't even mentioned anymore. Oh, but wait, they were mentioned when it fit the author's schedule. If she were the One, I'd pull a Leah and hate Amelia because people were fawning over her because of some stupid prophecy even though she's an idiot. Also, the word 'gobble' made me uncomfortable way too often.

This book grabbed me right away...Millie lost everything and ran to the only family she had left, her grandmother. Her discovery of a world that she had no idea existed is not the only surprise waiting for her, according to prophecy she is supposed to give birth to the leader that will have dominion over all other packs! Millie has two males fighting to be her mate Chase (her grandmothers choice) and Cutter (the male she loves)....who will win the right to for her hand?
I cannot wait until the next book in the series comes out!

I really enjoyed this book and found myself volunteering to wait at my kids practices so I could stay in the car read.
From the very beginning I was intrigued by how each character was going to play out and their relationship to the other character's. I really liked the comments that Chase would add about Cutters age, I love a story that adds a bit of humor. I appreciated that Amelia was a strong female, not looking to be saved by any male or put up with their stubbornness.

Only bad part of the book in now having to wait for the next one!

What happens when your family is attacked and you are forced to run? You find out that the people you love are not as "normal" as they have led you to believe! Lisa Olsen has written her magic once again! She captures your attention and you are pulled into the story. New characters and some unique plot twists lead you on a journey of surprises. You feel like you are in the book, watching all the takes place. You can envision the scenery, inanimate objects and those with a pulse in vivid detail.
A must read for anyone looking for a new adventure.

I loved it, not your typical paranormal romance. Combines a love triangle (between a woman and two very different men, who were both werewolves) with a little intrigue. Amelia is easily one of my favorite female characters, she was very strong-willed but not overbearing. The werewolf/shifter culture was a little different than I'd seen before, but was interesting and very well thought out. Now just hoping for a sequel!
