Emma Darcy is the pseudonym created by the married writing team of Wendy (1940-2020) and Frank Brennan (1936-1995). Their life journey has taken as many twists and turns as the characters in their stories, whose international popularity has resulted in over sixty-million book sales. With more than a hundred titles, Emma Darcy appeared regularly on the Waldenbooks bestseller lists in the U.S.A. and in the Nielson BookScan Top 100 chart in the U.K.

Wendy was born 28 November 1940 in Australia. Her sister was the novelist Maureen Mary (Miranda Lee). Her father was a country school teacher and brilliant sportsman. Her mother was a talented dressmaker. She obtained an Honours degree in Latin and initially worked as a high school English/French teacher. She married Frank Brennan, an Australian businessman born in 1936. She changed careers to computer programming before marriage and motherhood settled her into a community life. She was reputedly the first woman computer programmer in the southern hemisphere.

As voracious readers, the step to writing their own books seemed a natural progression and the challenge of creating exciting stories was soon highly addictive. They were published since 1983. In 1993, for the Emma Darcy pseudonym's 10th anniversary, they created the "Emma Darcy Award Contest" to encourage authors to finish their manuscripts. After the death of Frank Brennan in 1995, Wendy wrotes books on her own. She lived in a beachside property on the central coast of New South Wales, and liked to travel extensively to research settings and increase her experience of places and people.

Wendy Brennan passed away on December 21, 2020. She is survived by her children, grandchildren, and sister, writer Miranda Lee.

Re The Velvet Tiger - the overriding theme for October 1992 in HPlandia is one that HP editors kinda HAD to answer. In recent years HP-wise we have seen more frequent, more detailed and more rapid moves to get the H and h into bed, sometimes in the first few pages, based on nothing more than that old HP lurve mojo magic.

This from a line that for twenty-odd years had nothing more than kissing on the page, anything else was inferred and no matter what - That h was MARRIED before any conjugal rights were being exchanged. Unless of course it was Charlotte Lamb or Sara Craven, but their h's were generally assaulted by the H back in the day, and they are special cases anyways.

(There are a few other authors such as Anne Mather, Robyn Donald, Daphne Clair, Penny Jordan, Lilian Peake and Margaret Pargeter who could get away with premarital sex, but it was rare, usually forced and you had to be an author of extreme HP gravitas in order to be allowed to do it - in other words, you better be a best selling author for the line to have a non virgin h standing at the altar if she wasn't a widow and your h better be punished SEVERELY for her lapse.)

But times in HPlandia, they are a changin' and now our little h's are bopping into bed with the highly attractive H on the second page or the second chapter and there isn't a hint of a wedding ring in sight. So now we have to set some new rules in HPlandia and we have to ponder the question that every 'good girl' of the 80's and early 90's had to ask - If he is getting the milk for free, is the H going to want to buy the cow?

Well, this a romance and the object of the game is to win the H, the ring, the wedding, the babies and the fabulous lifestyle cause that is what every ordinary girl yearning to be swept away by passion wants to read. So the editors got busy on that, and Oct of 1992 is where the new rules are being set.

Unfortunately, Sally Cook's effort Spring Sunshine, was less than inspiring and not quite up to the usual HP HEA standards we have come to expect. No worries tho, cause HP editors have a seekrit weapon and that would be Emma Darcy. Emma Darcy manages to pull off the whole milk and cow question and they do it with their usual elan and style.

They also manage to give the whole damaged H trope a whole new life and character - in fact they kinda have to do an in-depth study of the damaged from childhood H to prove that the H WILL eventually buy the cow. But NOT if he doesn't have a physical way (via sex) to connect, his damaged psyche isn't able to respond on an emotional level to the virtuous love and devotion of the h. These H's have no acknowledgement that they even HAVE emotions, their childhoods were so horrible that they eradicated that weakness.

So really, h's jumping into bed with their damaged H's is on par with a mission of mercy and and an act of the utmost salvation. The h HAS to do it to save the world from the emotionless vagaries of an uninvolved and uncaring H, cause who knows WHAT those driven Alpha male men might do if they have no way to relate to the frailties of the rest of us.

So be warned, this book starts out one way and soon becomes another - for the first time ever in HPlandia, the subject of severe, prolonged and really, really serious child abuse is discussed, in detail and the effects are accurately shown to be long lasting.

This one starts with our executive secretary h, Lissa, ready to dump her lover of one year, Kane. Mainly because Lissa wants a husband and a family and she believes that Kane only sees her a sex object. So when Kane, who runs an engineering and construction firm, goes off and doesn't call or write for three weeks and Lissa is feeling a bit pumped and dumped, she tells him she is busy when he finally gets around to calling.

Now just to add to the jambalaya in the pot, the big boss Lissa works for is also the company that Kane does subcontracting on various projects for, so potentially Lissa could be an inside source for future company plans. Which, because of various financial laws regarding contracting, Kane may or may not need to know at some point in the future.

But for now we are more concerned with Lissa standing up for herself and figuring out where this relationship is going. She isn't ashamed of sleeping with Kane, she just wants to know if he even cares about her as a person. So when Kane calls, they have a fight and she tells him they are done. He calls back and she hesitantly agrees to give him one more weekend. Her head is telling her to dump him and find a man who is more emotionally available, her heart wants Kane because she loves him.

After being late to pick him up at the airport and after some arguing about the state of their relationship and welcome home lurve mojo moments, Kane proposes marriage. Lissa agrees because of a few things. First Kane bought her violets, he never buys her little gifts or treats, so those violets were a big thing for her. Second, he bought her an amethyst pendant while he was gone. Lissa is overwhelmed, not so much because it is a nice piece of jewelry, but because it proves that Kane does actually think about her other than when they are in bed.

Third, Lissa is very, very clear about how she feels and very, very straightforward about how she expects to be treated in a relationship and Kane immediately steps up to the plate in acknowledging that he can do those things now that he understands she isn't trying to manipulate him and that those little intimate gestures make Lissa feel wanted and appreciated. Kane does NOT tell her he loves her.

(But it is obvious, even before we get to the mystery of Kane's past, that it isn't that Kane doesn't have niceness and loverly gestures in him, it is literally he doesn't know how or what to do or even why he should do them. Until Lissa shows him the path and explains what it means to her, then he is perfectly happy to comply and try to be more showing in his caring.)

One other thing Lissa demands is that Kane meet her parents and they plan a proper wedding. Lissa knows Kane isn't close to his parents, but she assumes that a childhood divorce estranged them. Lissa and her mother get upset when Kane, who also has a somewhat neurotic sister somewhere, refuses to ask anyone to his side of the wedding. Lissa's mother tells her to talk Kane around, as weddings are lovely times for family reconciliations.

Lissa tries to push and Kane remains adamant. Finally Kane gives her the explanation she wants and Lissa (and the reader) are horrified. Kane and his sister were raised by two people who thought children would be a natural nature vs nurture experiment. Kane's sister was taught to be extremely submissive and Kane was pushed to be extremely dominant.

The parents were into drugs, orgies and pretty much any debauched thing they could get away with and when they divorced and the woman remarried, Kane was sent away and the new husband started sleeping with Kane's sister- at twelve years old. She became hooked on drugs and got an STD that rendered her sterile. The man that was Kane's father was a prominent psychologist and he knew what was going on and wanted to measure outcomes rather than save anybody, even tho Kane begged him to save his sister Jenna.

(What we find out later that the whole thing was a deliberate set up on the part of Kane's original parent figures, they played the brother and sister off against each other by telling Kane he had to stay away to keep his sister safe and vice versa for the sister - she had to comply with any and all demands or they would hurt Kane. It also turns out both Kane and his sister were adopted.)

When Kane became old enough, he set out for justice. He ruined the stepfather and his business by stealing the man's workers and clients, he ruined the woman by leaving her destitute and broken and he ruined the psychologist by telling the world what he did. Kane doesn't really see much of his sister. He bailed her out of there as soon as he could, but to his mind she is corrupted and tho he sends money, he has no close relationship with her or her kinda wimpy husband - the burden of their childhood and her apparent weakness is too great for him to handle.

Lissa finally gets a good look at why Kane is the way he is and tho she is very sad he had to endure that, she is hoping she can teach him to love and she is over the moon when Kane claims that he wants to start on the babies right away. So they get married, with Lissa defending Kane's stance on no one on his side to her mother, but she doesn't reveal why. As that admission by Kane was a very private one and Lissa respects that he trusted her enough to tell her and she won't break his confidences.

On the honeymoon, business calls and Kane has to go sort a worker's strike. So Lissa spends part of her honeymoon waiting for the snatched moments Kane has to spare in between saving her business. Lissa eventually returns to work and another source of tension crops up. Her boss expects Kane to pump Lissa for inside information about upcoming projects. Lissa sternly tells her boss that won't happen. But she does have the smallest doubt that Kane might have actually married her for that very thing - tho she doesn't really believe that, it crosses her mind that it might be a bonus for Kane.

We also meet Kane's sister while Lissa is waiting for Kane to return. She is a very fragile girl who has a very nice husband and she tries really hard to explain her side of things, but Lissa doesn't understand the whole playing the siblings off against each other thing and the meeting doesn't go really well. Tho by the end of it, Lissa finally gets that things were even worse than she imagined and that Kane's sister did not let him down by becoming corrupted. She also promises not to tell Kane about the meeting, Jenna doesn't want to mess up Kane's shiny new life.

Then Kane comes home and he wants to know about the potential new projects, his business choices are contingent upon if he got them or not. Lissa is hurt, cause he rushes right in after being away and demands to know. But Lissa is preggers and wanted to share the big news in style. Kane feels like a total heel and is very supportive when Lissa ends up with evening sickness, tho Lissa is irked because if she breaks her word not to tell Kane about the projects, then what good is any promise she makes. There is a big fight until they hash things out.

Kane is suitably sorry and Lissa tells him that he needs to be at his job site to get the phone call that will let him know his fate. Kane rushes off to find he won the contracts on the projects and then Lissa has to be preggers and sick for a several months, she also has to quit her job and broodiness sets in. Kane tries really hard to help her, he buys her candies and tea and plans things to be around for when the baby comes. Lissa also eventually tells Kane about his sister and their meeting when the sister calls to say they are adopted.

Kane has a mini freak out moment when he realizes that he misinterpreted the entire situation with Jenna and Lissa helps him to understand that they are all adults now and tho they might not be blood relations, they have bonds and Jenna and her husband should be included in their new small family. Kane is finally learning that other people have weaknesses but that shouldn't be held against them, cause self-isolation can be just as weakening. Kane is learning to be tolerant and to make allowances for others - even when they aren't like him.

Then the crisis of the novel hits when Lissa goes into labor and Kane is on the job site. She hates to call him, but he rushes back and then things really go bad when Lissa almost dies from a reaction to the anesthesia. As she is being wheeled in for a c-section, she asks Kane to tell her he loves her, because for all this time Kane has never said it and Lissa isn't sure that he actually CAN love another person.

She knows he will love the baby, because it is his big chance to make the past right by raising a child as they should be raised. Lissa also knows that he values her enough to make her the mother of his children, but she isn't sure that he doesn't just see her as extended support and a baby provider. She is soon corrected when she finally comes to and Kane is fervently avowing his love and devotion.

The entire scene is totally adorable as Kane is growling at everyone, trying to keep Lissa calm and Lissa is freaking out that something happened to the baby. Kane tries to give a good description, but as he has no people or baby describing skills. Lissa gets exasperated until Kane reels off a numbered itemization of the body parts in the correct amounts a baby should have. Knowing that Kane's counting skills are excellent, Lissa is reassured and the epilogue is Lissa, Kane and the baby boy sharing a family moment with Kane's sister Jenna and her husband and everyone is lurved up and happy for the big HEA.

Nowadays, the H damaged by an abusive childhood is very commonplace, especially in the HP universe, so it is very easy to become jaded about this sadly overused trope. But at one time it was extremely rare outside of an H's mother abandoning him or being orphaned.

This particular backstory had never been done before in HPlandia, sure there were hints of childhood neglect in previous books, and h's are downtrodden all the time, but in general that kind of severe abuse was never inflicted on the H, perhaps because abuse survival wasn't seen as a particular Alpha trait.

It doesn't matter really, because ED manages to completely reformulate the whole damaged H trope and the delving into the cause and effect of sustained abuse is incredibly well done here. Very few authors manage to succeed in pulling this trope off believably and even fewer succeed in giving such a detailed character development that leads to real on the page H character growth.

That ED does so and makes a riveting and believable love story with a great HEA is a tribute to their writing skills. The story itself belongs on the HP required reading list for the being the first and one of the very best examples of how love, compassion and understanding can lead to redemption and freedom the shackles of the past. So overall, you can't really ask for more than that in an HPlandia outing.

This is a quiet story that explores how a relationship grows in intimacy to form a life-long commitment.

H/h have been dating for a year. Heroine wants to know if she is number one in his life or just a booty call between business commitments. Hero is freaked out about losing her, but doesn't like this feeling of vulnerability and need.

The H/h work it out in the first half of the story - the heroine putting her trust in the universe that their marriage will work out. The rest concerns their marriage and their differing views of family, the hero's horrible childhood, and the heroine's worries about her pregnancy. None of these problems are insurmountable - the H/h are mature enough to keep trying to improve their relationship and they do.

The hero's backstory is alluded to, so no horrific details thank goodness. The heroine had a happy childhood so no competing misery. The ending is sweet with the hero focused only on the heroine after a difficult labor.

Boogenhagen has all the details if you're interested.

I woke up this morning to nine *nine!* open library books available to read. Why so many? Where do I start? I picked Velvet Tiger and thoroughly enjoyed it.

Lissa and Kane have been seeing each other for over a year, yet these two barely know anything about each other. Lissa is certain that Kane only sees her as a convenient booty call and she's done with being treated that way. When she finally sticks up for herself, Kane realizes that she means something to him and he tries harder to be what she needs. They eventually marry.

There book is mildly angsty as Lissa tries to figure out what makes her husband tick. She is certain that his business will always come first and has some big insecurities because of that.

I immediately liked both H/h. Lissa spent too much time her her head but was sweet and loving and exactly what Kane needs. Kane could be cold and unfeeling. But Lissa slowly comes to understand him, she knows he is a good man who never saw what a loving home looked like. He had some pretty severe abuse as a child but he is a survivor.

The book was slow in spots, but there is no doubt by the end that Kane is madly in love with Lissa and that they will have a happy life together. I was left with warm, fuzzy feelings at the end of this book.

Now, only 8 books more to go. Yikes! Good thing I've got the time.

Can't beat Boogenhagen's review for synopsis and analysis.

https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

TVT is less a traditional HP angsty romance than the workings of a real angsty relationship. Lissa wants to play hardball with Kane over what she sees as his lack of real emotional commitment, but the sex is great and she really loves him. The question is does he love her? He's willing to make his need for her and his commitment official and permanent (marriage), but does he love her?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dlj4e...

The couple realistically haggle and struggle on the dynamics of what their relationship needs to be while single and again while married. The hero's big fat secret is the impediment, and it's a doozy and not very much fun. I liked the heroine as she didn't just turn over like most HP doormats, and her fear that was little more than a coveted incubator while pregnant was valid.

The H does come through emotionally for the heroine in the end in a pretty humorous fashion as he lists the basic physical attributes of their newborn son to Lissa.

I know Emma Darcy could never have anticipated the advent of Calvin and Hobbes, but Velvet Tiger loses some of its alpha sexiness when all I can think of is this.

"The Velvet Tiger" is the story of Lissa and Kane.

It was a great read.

Usually, in romances when partner/mistress gives ultimatum to the hero about leaving, it is to goad him into commitment, and usually ends in the h running away and H chasing her.

Well, in this book, we begin at a similar plot point but with different consequences.
Lissa has been with Kane for over an year & works for his rival's company. She is not sure of her position in his life, and when he disappears for over 3 weeks without any preamble, she decides to question his commitment to her.
But instead of having a tantrum, she decides to have a chat with the hero, and after bouts of sexy lovemaking, both decide to make compromises to give their relationship a chance.

This begins when the heroine makes the hero open up about his past and insecurities, make him realize how she perceives his indifference, and also understand their importance in each others lives. The hero is strong and silent type, brooding but extremely obsessed. The heroine has her bouts of doubts, but loves the hero too much to give up on them. Her boss and his sister add the needed outside influence to their alliance.

The bittersweet drama in the second half and especially, at the end make this an overall satisfying read. We see the couple being tested, and they emerge with flying colors.

I just gave this a re-read thanks to Boogenhagen and I enjoyed it. I like how the h stated what she needed in a relationship and the hero stepped up to the plate. I knew he loved her from the beginning but he just didn't express it well. He married her and they tried to create angst over the job information he wanted but they talked it out. I loved the ending when the nurse was like oh yeah we all know he loves you!!! He was so upset and demanding yet so sweet. Good story but it was kind of boring for me in places but don't get me wrong. That is good. I am so sick of OW and cheating and separations and this was a nice pleasant read and didn't need those stupid gimmicks. I may have to raise the score after thinking about all that. So tired of dramalama and infidelity. It is being overdone lately. Or maybe it's just me. Thank you Boogenhagen. I really enjoyed it.

After reading lots of stories by LG and CM I decided I was tired of bitchy mean heroines and cruel heroes. Instead I wanted a simple realistic sweet love story for a change. I knew ED would deliver and she definitely did. Both H/h were adorable, very likeable people and the only problem they had to face was heroine's insecurity and desire to be truly loved and hero's inability to express his feelings.

Heroine married hero despite her doubts but when her pregnancy goes wrong he is there for her and fear of losing her makes him realize how much his wife means to him. The hospital scenes were very touching and full of emotions. Wonderful story about the power of selfless and unconditional love.

It was nice that she didn’t become ‘oopsie-pregnant’ and that she used birth control.

They had a relationship for a year when the book starts. I was surprised by how compliant he was. She was the alpha in their relationship.

In the first few pages, the hero tells the heroine bluntly that he needs food, drink, and sex, in that order. When she balks at being treated like a commodity, he nods towards the exit and tells her to make up her mind, either she takes him as he is or she can take the door out of his life. The heroine instantly melts in a puddle of goo at the thought of all the hot sex she will be missing out and replies that she is willing to try it out for the weekend at least. Try what? Being used like an Austin Powers fembot? Vomit-inducing :(

This wasn't a bad read, after all it's Emma Darcy, so of course it is well written. I just didn't enjoy it mostly because I didn't understand where the author wanted to take me. There seemed very little point to the story other than Love conquers all. But I already know that. That's why I read category romances.

The storyline just felt worn and tired with no new news. Very atypical of ED.

Emotional. You will not miss the drama that usually comes with OW’s, OM’s, interfering family, misunderstandings, mistresses, secret pregnancies, cheating, or almost cheating etc…

This was more real. It was different then most of the HP’s out there.

The h, Lissa, is 24 and has been with the emotionally distant H, 33, for the last year. She is feeling that their relationship is more 1 sided(she is even wondering if she is just an easy convenience between work assignments) and even though she loves him she is ready to give him up for her own self preservation. So she breaks up with him, over the phone. Our H is understandably upset and a little blindsided, says fine and hangs up….only to call back later. He isn’t ready to throw in the towel, but he has a lot of work to do in the meantime.

As the story progresses, we see two people who are already very physically compatible learn how to grow the love that really is already there. Our H has to do a lot of emotional growth. His sad backstory has shaped him. It has damaged him. One constant in his life has been his success in business. Business was his number 1 and unlike some of our successful heroes, he has to work hard to stay on top. He is wealthy but not yacht/villa wealthy. He recognizes that Lissa is a special person, and the only person he has ever let in. He asks her to marry him(she wonders is that to keep her?) He wants her pregnant(she wonders is that more important than her?) Our h wonders throughout the story if the H truly loves her. Can he love her? She is left in no doubt of his love by the end of the story. There is no doubt that she has become his number 1.

There is some angst woven throughout the story, but most of the story relies on the emotional element.

On a side note, the description of the H’s home decor had me reliving the Miami Vice 80’s. The only thing missing in his decor was artwork by Patrick Nagel.

Stmargarets, Boogenhagen, and Vintage give some great reviews with more details.

This was a bit of a mixed bag, It really started off intense right in the middle of relationship angst and then tailed off some in the second half as the relationship progressed. The standoff H, who had major baggage vs the 'is it love or not' h really pulled you in but there were moments where the h just came off as fractious. Those could be forgiven, if you remembered the bigger picture, but it got harder to do as the relationship progressed. Still more interesting than a lot of HP's.

Oh My !!!! Emma Darcy delves deep with this one. This is no ordinary case of hero coming from a disturbed childhood. The fellow here is royally screwed, whacked up to the depths of despair, very dark and compelling back story.

The remaining template is somewhat familiar, although done well, in a relatable and engaging manner. Hero and heroine are DOING IT for the last year or so. The hero is happy with status quo, but our girl is tired of being just a diversion in between his all-important business.

During one of his business trips, he vanishes for 3 weeks without letting her know. When she gets his call eventually, she just blasts him off. And threatens to break up. That jolts our fellow out of the comfortable equation that had set in.

He comes running and offers marriage, just out of the blue. Our girl is puzzled, but nevertheless accepts because the fellow can be very persuasive when he wants to.

Trouble starts when he refuses any body from his family to attend the wedding. He also tries his best to avoid meeting her family. Only his family is whacked up, hers is a normal loving one. So our girl doesn't understand his weird diktat about NO FAMILY.

Slowly, the skeletons start tumbling out. He has a sister. Both of them were thoroughly tortured while they were kids, by the parents. The sister was asked to participate in sexual experiments, orgies, coercive sex, and what not !!! The hero tried to save her but just couldn't. All as part some some psychological experimentation by a scientist dad and a high society mom who didn't care. And to top it all, it turns out that they weren't their own parents, they were adopted as 'guinea pigs' !!!

So there is too much darkness and hatred dominating the hero's psyche. And our poor heroine has to pull him out of his dark abyss, one step at a time. Which she does, beautifully, patiently.

The fellow responds to only one person in the whole wide world and that is the heroine. How he gets back into the living world is the rest of the story.

The sister has her own redemption too. She gets a loving, caring husband who is a gem of a character, but did not get enough space in the book.

Apart from the personal angle, there is also a professional angle to resolve. The heroine is the secretary of a top business honcho whose company is planning to allot some key contracts to the hero's company. Initially, our whacked up hero tries to pump her for insider business info. But soon realises his folly.

The epilogue is a sweet closure of the past and a step into the pleasant future. Hero having normal husband like worries, panicking when the heroine goes into labour, being awestruck at the sight of his son. Also slowly bonding with his sister, making a fresh start. The sister, it actually turns out came out of the sordid mess much less affected than the hero !

The wide range of conflicts and issues that authors in HP Land deal with ! Makes me feel proud of the fact that I am an avid reader of this genre. I have great respect for these authors who manage to convey serious real life scenarios and weave them into romantic fantasies, all within 200 pages! Wow !!!!! Whoever thinks these authors are any lesser in stature than the writers of main stream fiction, they are just being silly and ignorant. I rest my case !

Boogenhagen wrote an excellent review and synopsis so I’ll just add that I too recommend this book. It was so well-done. The romance is from a different angle (they’re already together when it starts) but it builds so well, and shows such character growth, it holds your attention throughout. A truly believable and satisfying HEA. I will reread this one again, no doubt!

DNF p. 50.

The hero is a nasty, sneering, disrespectful cunt who treats the heroine as nothing more than a disposable blow-up-sex-doll. He has never once considered her feelings, always has to have his own way, and has refused to meet her family or to introduce her to his family after a year of being together.

The book begins with her deciding enough is enough - she wants to be treated better, like a human being! Like a person who matters, who deserves love and respect!

This lasts for about 5 seconds before she's rolling over and once more allowing him to treat her like dog shit because he's good in bed.

It drives me WILD with rage when heroines have no self respect, when they will throw away basic human dignity because a hot man makes their pussy feel good. I was so dismayed and filled with utter disgust for both characters that I know I had to pull the emergency cord and bail at page 50.

This is not the book to read if you prefer action over introspection. It's more like a thesis on psychological trauma than a love story. If you're studying to be a psychiatrist or already in that field, you may want to check this out as an example of what effect both physical and emotional abuse can have on people (the H and his younger sister), and if you're thinking of a career in couples counseling or already have one, you might get some insight from the mental musings of the h. If you're an OB/GYN or planning to be one, the rare occurrence that occurs for the h during labor will interest you.

If you're someone who prefers a dark, rather gloomy HP book, you'll like this one.

But if you're looking for light, entertaining reading, FORGET IT!

Good choice, girl ^.^b

Setelah setahun menjadi kekasih Kane, Kane hanya datang padanya ketika membutuhkan dirinya.

Bagus, I like it. 1 down, still 124 books to go.

Masa lalu si Kane dalem banget yaaa. Buntutnya doi jadi gak percaya orang lain gitu.

Intinya, nice ending story.

The hero was insensitive and mean in the beginning, but by the end he was adorable. He was so cute and funny in the hospital with his attitude toward his wife and baby. Especially the way he described what the baby looked like.
