Brian Fagan is an enthusiastic and knowledgeable educator. I enjoyed this Great Courses less than others I've sampled, but that is more my fault than Fagan's. Archeology is a necessary tool for understanding the past, especially ancient history. Unfortunately the subtle joys of the craft elude me, and I will always prefer swashbuckling and dubious recounts of what might have happened, or what would have been cool if it had happened, to the dryer (hehe) archeological telling of what most likely actually happened. This course had moments of fascination and entertainment for me, but not dependably. I don't regret listening to it, but it will require a unforeseen interest in archeology for me to listen again.
