A very good introduction. The book manages to go through all the basics in a pedagogical way, making it easy to read despite the large amount of important information contained in it. Alessandra Lemma is a very good teacher. For example, I have read many descriptions of "projective identification", but it wasn't until I read Lemmas description of it in this book that I felt as if I really "got it".
Great, comprehensive book for therapists and trainees to read and reread over and over again. I think it works great as a book but it can also be read in chapters as you need it in your work. It's main focus is psychoanalytic therapy but it would be a useful book for a young therapist from any school of thought because it sheds light on the process itself.
