This was a fun series and I'm bummed this is the final volume as I feel there was a lot of potential left on the table. Hopefully it gets an anime.

This is VERY bittersweet because Crazy Food Truck had the potential to go on for much longer, however if it was to end this soon - it had to end with a bang, and thankfully it did.

I'm torn about this, but the ending makes sense considering the story has finished so soon. Overall, it was a good time that I'll remember and I'll probably revisit it for wholesome foodie moments!

This was honestly kind of a sweet relationship (father/daughter vibes) until the middle-aged man and the seventeen year old have sex. Ew.

Honestly didn't think this was have such a great send off, that was so well thought of and even had a meaningful message behind it. Last volume we were still introducing characters and first volume was obviously the introduction to the world and main characters, we even got a cliffhanger with Arisa being captured. That was resolved in 1 chapters, like serious it should not have been this good but it was perfect!

The whole message about life being what you make of it was beautiful and the thing with death comes for us all but it's what we do with our life that matters was perfect.

Cute how they spoof the KFC Colonel. I’d like to know more about her sister and the doll project in general. We do get Gordon’s full story, though it’s really predictable. It’s nice she admits to chef Gordon how much she appreciates him, though the extent of her peril is pretty unclear. I do like when we see run down pagodas. We could’ve used more of that, rather than stale desert and cleared sea. The end is cute in a pretty unexpected way even if some of our questions aren’t answered!

So Arisa has been kidnapped by Towata and Gordon wants her back so, with the help of Kyle, Tanaka, Myna, and Dylan, they storm the gates of Towata with their tricked out food truck and rescue her.

Then Arisa and Gordon immediately dip because it's still Kyle's job to bring Arisa back. Another failed attempt at recovering Arisa, and some very clear hints that Arisa will die if they don't, and suddenly everything has escalated into Arisa and Gordon doing the nasty (because they love each other?) right before being surrounded my an entire army.

It's...extremely clear that the series got axed and the writer was desperately trying to wrap up some loose ends, like Gordon's backstory and whatever romantic arc was supposed to happen (which is really weird and creepy cause Gordon looks like he's 50 and Arisa looks like she's 16, so the fact that she's naked so often is concerning). But the ending is at least a decent closure to this dumpster fire of a series.

This series has 3 volumes.

I love the characters feel like I could really connect to the characters the story was good interesting and fast pace it knew when to slow down and when to speed up I do feel thought that it should have maybe had one more volume or a couple more just to flesh out the story and the villains and all that but tbh that could have been a negative as you could tell it was only supposed to be 3 volumes long as it did feel like a good ending and if it did have more volumes might have just staged and became boring.

4.5

This last volume didn’t get to focus as much on the food like I appreciated in the first two but the plot kept pushing me along. I didn’t really how quickly I ended up loving these characters until the end and I appreciated getting the last of the backstory of the General. I wish there was so much more to this world and story but I also appreciated the little epilogue at the end. I can easily see myself wanting to reread this series in the future.

I think it ended where it needed too. I think there's a version of this story that goes on and on, but it's not this one. Recommended! A great, heartwarming (albeit strange) read.

Solid ending.
It felt like some parts were rushed to get to other key moments in this volume.
There was a certain section towards the end that I wasn’t thrilled with but the conclusion made up for it.
There’s still some of questions that were left unanswered.
I’m hoping the creative team will get back together and expand on this world and how others are affected by the agencies, the desert landscapes, and the previous war leading up to it.
If not, this trilogy will stand on its own as a love letter to all the things the creators hold near and dear to their hearts.

Not a bad finale for the series but I would have to say that this isn’t my favorite series. It could have been fleshed out more than it was and the finale would have had more impact.

I received a free ebook ARC from Viz Media via NetGalley. Ok, so I didn’t expect volume 3 to be the last volume, so the rushed ending shocked me. Ultimately, we did get a conclusion. The artwork is really good and this reads fast, I just wish there was more meat to the story.

This is the last volume in this series and it sort of hit in a mild way, despite the over-the-top situations. As much as I enjoyed the "crazy" part, it just didn't fully land.

The overall story is actually pretty interesting, and there is a surprising amount actually going on, but I think with it being a 3 volume series it felt sort of rushed in areas. I'm still iffy on the relationship between the two mcs, but it wasn't unexpected, and like the title felt a bit crazy considering the short page count for the series.

And of course, for the reason, it's on my shelf, the food. I love that this one had a little morning meaning behind each dish, tying up plot points or pulling in old memories.

I honestly wish the series were longer, even if it were by two or so volumes. But despite my kind of mild reaction to it, I am glad I read it. It was pretty fun with some great art, yummy looking food, and goofy action.

What the fresh hell was this shit?!!

I thought Gordon could be trusted but nope we got this OLD ASS MAN HAVING SEX WITH A 17 YEAR OLD. That is gross (and don’t come at me about how age of consent is different in Japan, it’s WRONG). I was leaning towards a 2.5 maybe a 3 since there was some attempt to make a storyline but once that happened it was done it was over.

This is the final volume and it’s so very obvious that the plot is half assed and the mangaka didn’t really have a full thought out plot envisioned. I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt but after that stunt with Arisa and Gordon nah that ain’t happening now.

I absolutely do not recommend this series.

Chronique complète :

Extrait :

It looks like the central theme in the story is freedom. The freedom of choice to live like you want to live, though it may have obstacles in the way. Following orders is fine, but making your own path is something else. Gordon is not the only one to see this by the end of the story. I guess it wasn't that bad.

So, the last volume ended on a cliffhanger. It seemed like Arisa was just in a tank of some kind that showed off her nakedness and powered the town or something. The cliffhanger was resolved in like 10 pages. There was no real fight put up by the bad guys and the treasure of the town turned out to be an eel. Then all sides just go their own separate ways. There is a flashback that explains why the leadership of the militia do not actually want to kill the cook.

We watch Gordon and Arisa nude together. You know the end is near if the main characters had sex. They eat a couple of different interesting meals. The true bad guy shows up. The end. or is it?...

I mean the story is not horrible, but could have been better.

3.75 ⭐ The Crazy Food Truck series is a lot of fun and the conclusion really rounded out the storylines for, not only Gordon and Arisa, but for Gordon's former associates as well. The beginning of this volume with the rescue of Arisa from Towata was a little anticlimactic but the rest of the volume was incredibly action packed while also focusing on character development and some more world building in relation to the 'Doll Project'.

My only issue (and based on other reviews, a common one) was with

Overall super fun series with a lot of action.

I'm giving this a 3 because I really was expecting there to be more, but it literally ends on a semi happy note (kinda i guess??).

I also hate the fact that the MMC slept with Arisa and I double hate that he slept with her knowing she was a "man made doll", AND SHES A CLONE BASED ON ONE OF HIS SUBORDINATES GENES.
TBH, it would have been better if he slept with the female subordinate rather than the clone, but OK

I also think this manga could have definitely benefitted from having like 1 or 2 more volumes, but overall, I did enjoy this story, albeit it was cut short and felt very rushed towards the end.

Against the majority, I liked that this ended here.
Could there be more? Sure. Take any narrative, there is always potential for more.
But I'm satisfied. I think the premise was good, the little detours were fun, and I didn't need absolutely everything to come back around.
I think a lot of manga, boy does it go a long time. I like the flexibility of manga to have shorter and longer stories, and I think those of us who are fans need to remember that the flexibility should include short arcs, too.
Besides, if the creator is done with it, I say let them be done. No use in marching them through something until it starts to suck ass.

The conclusion to the Crazy Food Truck series isn't particularly satisfying as the characters aren't well developed. Volume 2 ended with a cliffhanger that I was expecting a clever resolution to. However, Volume 3 opens with the heroes blasting their way out of the situation, as usual. I found the way Gen. Gordon's and Arisa's relationship developed to be off-putting and disturbing. The story was crazy and involves a food truck, so it does just enough to live up to its title.

The other food manga I read was Toriko during childhood. Compared to that, this is a short 3 VL series. It could have been longer. But I think the ending and the build up had a lot of the classic tropes. Overall, a fun read but at the end I didn't get much out of it except how to make a solid BLT sandwich (which is worth it). This book felt like a short OVA; but maybe that was what the author was going for.

Damn what a touching finale. This volume felt a lot more about the back story and how it relates to the present. Arisa still finds scenes to be topless so that always made me laugh and happy. Still some unique dishes to this world along with weird creatures to boot.

Seriously hope this gets made into a movie like the author intended for this to feel like. They totally got the movie feeling down!

The final volume of The Crazy Food Truck saga. A royal secret is revealed. Massive militaristic events unfold. Meals are shared and eaten as a love develops. A backstory sheds light on current action. Again, fantastic locations and fantastic creatures. Again, wonderful characters and captivating artwork. After a consuming immolation, hope resurfaces and the legacy of Kitchen Gordon will carry on. I throughly enjoyed this unique, strange, funny, moving story from beginning to end.
