The universe plunges our planet into a tower system's first floor and grants people magic and dungeon portals open up to fallen universes that pump out monsters to attack the planet. Simple, lit fantasy setting.
A party of the highest level players sacrifices themselves to defeat the frost queen and are frozen into statues at the end of the fight. 10 years later one of them is unfrozen.
The writing was acceptable, there wasn't a clear progression of the magic system, and the action scenes were fine too. But the monotonous way the story was told, and the lack of side character dialog typical of juvenile web literature made the book end probably at around the 60% point. But the series isn't long and it does end, which is better than other webserie cliffhanger.

It was a long journey of a novel. Poor guy went through so much, and spent so much time. I’m glad he had failures and didn’t immediately win but it would’ve been so much nicer for the guy if he did.

Earns my fifth star as an action novel only for the fact that unlike most of the genre he turns down becoming a god.
