The Zoo is Blue ... and should be Read! (Personalized Edition) by Dixon, James W. (1991) Hardcover

Rate this book
What begins as a normal day trip to the zoo turns out to be quite an adventure for everyone! You will be confronted with everything from a zebra with no stripes to a scraggly monkey who steals pocket watches. The nervous stork is afraid to fly and the crying rhino has lost his horn. The worried zookeeper needs your help to restore order and happiness to a zoo that has become "blue." The animals are terribly sad! It's a good thing a special bag was brought along to help fix things...just in case. Children from 4 to 11 will laugh and learn at the same time, as they discover over 25 homonyms (words that look or sound the same with different meanings) throughout this wild and zany story. How many can you find? The homonyms are listed in the back of the book. "The Zoo is Blue" is a unique and successful learning tool to help develop a better understanding of the English language while offering great entertainment at the same time. Making friends and helping others also plays an important role in this remarkable picture book. As with all of his successful children's books, James W. Dixon has again brought an award winning hard cover title into digital format to be enjoyed by families everywhere. You will find professionally drawn, bright, full color images on every page. Meet lovable characters, each having it's own captivating personality. You and your child will be entertained, educated and inspired when you travel through the zoo to make it blue no more!

This is a super cute book and it has a lot of homonyms in it, however it also has a lot of homophones in it and that can be confusing for children trying to learn the difference.
