I really liked this book it was very informative and I was able to learn a lot from it. This book gave me a clear picture of how Amelia lived and what she went threw as a women in aviation. This book not only shows how Earhart lived but how she changed the point of view that everyone had of women. Tanya Lee did a great job showing what it would have been like if you were Amelia. This book had so many facts and details and it is a must read. Amelia Earhart was an important/influential person to many people. She was a role model for women in her time because back then when women were considered not able to do what men did. She set many records for women and became very famous. Amelia did have some struggles/challenges in her lifetime. As a kid, her father was an alcoholic and was not a very good influence on her. Another struggle for Amelia was the fact that women had no motivation at the time, which made it harder for Amelia to be recognized. Amelia also had many achievements in her life. She flew solo across the Atlantic, first women to fly across the Atlantic as a passenger, and most importantly, she proved that women could do anything that men do. In conclusion, this book gave me a lot of information on Amelia Earhart and why she was an important person. I would recommend this book to anyone interested in learning more about her and in all, this book was very helpful when it came to the research I did on Amelia Earhart.

I really enjoyed reading the book Amelia Earhart by Tanya Lee Stone. This book is a biography based on the life of Amelia Earhart. This book starts off from Amelia's childhood. For example, the author mentions how Amelia was very adventurous from the start, and was the exact same when she became a pilot. Then, the story shifts to her school time period. I learned how Amelia was very popular and smart in high school. Most of the story was about her becoming a pilot. I learned many facts from this, such as how none of her family inspired Amelia, and how more of close friends did. I enjoyed reading this book because throughout the whole book, there are many photos and captions to demonstrate what the author is talking about. Also, the amount of description there is is very helpful. After reading this, I could really tell that the author has done a lot of research, which is great! I would recommend this to anyone looking for a biography to read.

The book Amelia Earhart by Tanya Lee Stone is an amazing biography about Amelia Earhart. This book talked about Amalia Earhart, he struggles, jobs, childhood, and Accomplishments. Amelia Earhart was the reason why many woman can fly planes today. When Amelia was young only men flew planes and once she became interested that was a big challenge for her to commit to being a pilot. A connection I have with Amelia Earhart is, just like her I am very interested in planes. I recommend this book to any people who are interested in learning about planes and 4-6th grade students.

Having learned about "The First Woman in Flight" while in school I developed a keen interest for Amelia and her accomplishments. I just had no idea how extensive it really was until reading this book. She had so many wonderful adventures in her lifetime, leading to her very famous death.
This is a fantastic book for biography lovers, there was so much more I learned that what is in textbooks. I think it is a remarkable way to showcase Amelia and her life. The author didn't give any new insight to her disappearance, but she did find a way to make the questions stop. You will have to read the story to know what I mean there.
I definitely recommend this one to anyone interesting in learning more about Amelia, if you love biographies, or if you are into aviation.

I loved this book so much because it was very interesting. I wanted to hear what people thought about her, and I wanted to here what some people thought happened. She inspired me to do what I want to do and no one can stop me. She fought for what she wanted. She never really got mad at people and she liked to help other people a lot. I want to be known for doing something like she did, she helped as many people as she could and she was still living her dream. I want to be like Amelia Earhart. I recommend this book to people who like books about strong women and loyalty.

1. Recognition from Toni Mullee, Executive Director of the International Women's Air & Space Museum

2. 5

3. This life story book tells the historical story of Amelia Earhart and her journey into the sky as the first female aviator to fly alone over the Atlantic Ocean.

4. This book is great for older elementary students strengthening their skills in comprehending and retaining information from biographies. My grandmother gave me this book as a gift when I was little and as I read, I thought she was the coolest person on earth (and in the sky for that matter!).

5. Students will be taught how to make a paper airplane. On that airplane, they will write various facts they learn while reading this biography. We will make a timeline of Earhart's life together as a class on a very long paper. For fun, the students will throw their airplanes one by one over the timeline that will be placed on the floor and see how far on the timeline their plane ends up. Wherever they land, they will share a fact from that point in Earhart's life.

Jecel and I read this together; it was a very interesting history of Amelia. It's a "photographic story of a life" which makes it even more fascinating to see all the pictures along the way. I knew the story of Amelia but I learned some new things about her in this book. She was very protective of her family - which were her parents and sisters. She did not prescribe to the traditional roles of men and women especially in marriage. She did not marry until she was 34, and only after her boyfriend had proposed many times and she finally consented if he promised she would not have to be a traditional wife and could still pursue her aviation goals. One of the most surprising things I learned is that Amelia tried many occupations, but her favorite job was working at a settlement home named Denison as a social worker. This was her last job before she started dedicating all her time to flying. It was a hard decision for her to leave social work, but the thrill and glamor of flying was a stronger pull.

The book, Amelia Earhart by Tanya Lee Stone is a biography that talks about all the different journeys Amelia went through. It talk about her childhood, her passions, her world records, her family, and what made her the person that everyone is inspired by. Amelia had a rough childhood. Her father always treated her and her mother badly because he was always drunk and couldn't keep himself under control. Amelia switched to 6 different high schools in only 4 years and went to 2 different colleges. When she finally discovered her passion for being a pilot, she hopped from one instructor to another so that she was able to learn different techniques. It's amazing how much she achieved. I would recommend this book to people who like to read biographies about people who have inspired many.

I well written overview of the life and disappearance of the incredible Amelia Earhart. The information gathered for this book has been well researched and made accessible for young, as well as older, readers due to the author's (Tanya Lee Stone) clear and concise writing style. The book is an insightful and interesting look at the early history of aeronautics and the courageous individuals (especially the women) who promoted, romanticized and popularized piloting an airplane. It has inspired me to learn more about Amelia and the other women that soared through the clouds, at great risk to their personal safety, to obtain new heights in aviation and the rights of women to pursue their dreams and goals.

I like hoe this book focuses mainly on the rest of her life and only devotes a short amount to her last flight. She did so many more things with her life than just fly.

I liked about Amelia was that she was trying to get people to help I think the community and make people help it.I am glad that she is trying to help because people probably made it messy. Some people helped but I think that some people didn't care.I still liked that people helped Amelia so she didn't have to do it by herself.I thought that it was a really good book.

I really enjoyed this story by Tanya Lee Stone. This book was very informative and explained a lot about this wonderful woman. This book will give you amazing facts about young Amelia and her childhood. I learned many things about Amelia that I probably would have never learned if I didn't read this book. I learned how her father took her to a fair where she had seen her first plane but wasn't interested in this contraption till her later years in California with her car Yellow Perli. I learned about her later life struggles and goal settings. She was a very dedicated woman who didn't let anything get in her way. She would strive to challenge herself. She didn't want to be "a sack of potatoes" on her Atlantic ocean flight no so she made the flight solo as the first woman to fly across the Atlantic and as the first soloist flight across the Atlantic. She was amazing! So come and learn about thing wonderful woman Amelia Earhart and listen to some wonderful facts about Amelia Earhart the great aviator.

Amelia Earhart by Tanya Lee Stone was a nice book about an adventurous woman named Amelia Earhart. We get to watch Amelia grow up and make a difference. "Amelia Earhart was a feisty 11 year old when she saw her first air show." At first, she didn't find planes fascinating but soon found a passion for them. Amelia had changed the times by shining a bright light through the time of depression. She also showed that you can do whatever you want if you can put your mind to it. Another thing that Amelia showed was that anyone can do anything, no matter who you were, male, female, tall, short, black, white. Another piece from the blurb, "As a committed social worker, feminist, and record-breaking female pilot, Amelia flew right into American hearts." Very soon, Amelia went missing on a daring flight, and has never been seen again. Her story is one of Earth's greatest mysteries, Amelia is gone, when will we find her?

This was an amazing non fiction/biographical Young Adult novel. This story was about a woman named Amelia Earhart. When Amelia was just 11 years of age she saw her first plane show. This built something inside of her. She ended up becoming a female pilot, social worker, clothes designer, feminist, and all around record breaking pilot. While in the midst of her career she fell in love with a man named George Putnam. He supported Amelia in everything she did. She ended up taking on a Transatlantic flight and never returned. Her disappearance is still a mystery to us today.

I truly enjoyed this book. There was not a whole lot of violence in this book. It was full of mystery though. Where did this woman go? Why did she disappear so abruptly? I loved her sense of feminism. She had style, yet she could show up all these men pilots when it came to flying and setting records. The romance between her and Putnam was sentimental. She loved him, but it wasn't all mushy. She married when she was older. I loved the way this was written. It kept me entertained. I loved the pictures it contained. It had a timeline of events giving us the description of her life. It is a story that I would recommend to anyone who enjoys learning about history.

A true inspiration. The book highlighted the major facts of her life with snippets of inspirational material. The pictures throughout the book were an added benefit and helped the story come alive. Would recommend to anyone wanting to learn more about inspirational female figures or anyone needing to brush up on their Amelia Earhart facts.

"We may never know what happened to Amelia. What is certain, though, is that she lived her life on her own terms-ferociously. She bucked all the traditional constraints that held back many women of her time. She pushed against obstacles until they gave way, worked toward the greater good, and lived life for the fun of it. She took care of those she loved, took risks, and took the consequences as they fell. She was a role model when she was alive, and she remains a role model to this day."
