Prepare yourself for a super chip – the biggest of them all. The tallest, mightiest and fattest in the world. This story’s heroine LOVES chips – fat, thin, crunchy or soft. So when the perfect chip lands on her plate she’s not sure what to do. She could lick her lips and eat it whole. She could slice it or dice it. She could treasure it forever. But instead she dances the Best Chip Hop and disaster strikes. There’s only one way to recover from the chip’s untimely end, and the cure is chocolate coated!

Kate Leake is a freelance illustrator (fully qualified doodler and colourer-in) based in sunny Stoke on Trent.

She studied Illustration for Children's Publishing at the North Wales School of Art and Design and graduated in 2004. Since then, she has been happily scribbling away in her studio Planet Pencil, illustrating numerous children's books and designs for greetings cards. Sometimes she gets asked to work on other exciting projects like murals, posters and wedding invitations.

Kate's work features a combination of hand drawn and digital techniques, with a quirky, humorous style and a great attention to detail.

When not busy doodling, Kate loves playing the saxophone, going for lovely long walks or whipping up a giant fruit cake. Kate lives with her super brainy husband, Alan, who knows a lot more about the ionosphere than she does!
