It begins with various sex scenes before something more develops. A real relationship between the dragon and the wolf only arises later. And then there's a bit of family squabbling. The plot is rather in the background or rather there is not really one that runs through the whole book. Later on there is a bit of action with vampires, this part of the plot was rather annoying for me.

Anyway, overall a nice smut-fest. The sex scenes are really excellent. So if you want it to be entertaining and without depth then this is a nice book. In any case, it was definitely amusing but also slightly repetitive.

I certainly didn’t have fuck a dragon on my full moon bingo card, but I’ve never been one to turn down a stroke of good luck. I don’t know if it’s the rut fucking with my senses, but I’ve never smelled anyone, or anything, quite like him. I can’t decide if I want to devour him or fuck him until he can’t walk straight for a week. 🤩🐉🤩

He can roast me alive if he wants, as long as I get to fuck him first. That seems fair, right? 🐉💞🐉

at this point, if you read this series expecting a great book, that’s on you.
definitely better than the last one, but damn those repetitive sex scenes were getting on my nerves.

Really enjoyed the forbidden romance aspect of this story between the dragon and the werewolf.

It was also entertaining how they're actually in competition with each other professionally but refuse to believe the clues they see that tell them exactly who their mystery rival is.

Definitely my favourite in this series so far because it wasn't as cutesy as the previous two. I think I actually prefer the dragons mate to be another paranormal and not a human!

Wild Fire was certainly my favorite book of the series so far because you know – Forbidden love! We originally learned in Hot Head that dragons and wolves do not mix and have a long-lasting hatred for each other. Arson (dragon) and Drayton (wolf) met on the night of the full moon and kept running into each other all over the world after that. There was so much chemistry and passion between the two of them, and I especially loved how the authors incorporated their “animal” counterparts bonding their energies.  
 
Both Arson and Dray have felt like they don’t fit in with their species because they don’t share the traditional way of doing things. It was beautiful to see them fight to be together against the odds and support each other when their families were not happy about them being together.

What’s so complicated about it? So what if he’s a wolf and I’m a dragon? Our hearts still beat the same.
 
I really enjoyed the first two books in the series but felt there wasn’t enough spice for my liking. Well, it was not the case in this one! The longing and need between Arson & Dray was so strong and when they came together it was 🔥🔥🔥.

“I need it, Dray. I need your bite. I need your teeth to sink into my skin and leave a mark that will never fade. I need your scent embedded in every one of my cells so anyone who dares to sniff me knows I’m yours,” Arson babbles, his breathing heavy and uneven as he rides my tongue.

The MCs had a great dynamic and it was just fun to read :)
And oh my goodness the sweetness of them heisting together, the slipping of the ring and the coveting of the treasure the wolf has been hoarding for his dragon? my heart!

Swoony star crossed lovers

This book. The forbidden romance. The hoarding. The smudging of legal lines. The rivalry. The teasing. The denial. The feels. I loved all of it. This was romance perfection. Arson is a dragon shifter who steals art and returns it to his rightful owner a la Robyn Hood rather than hoarding it. Draydon is a wolf shifter who likes to hoard shiny things and doesn’t always obtain them legally. Dragons and wolves never mix but the pull between Draydon and Arson is overwhelming and impossible to ignore. Their first encounter is a nameless one night stand outside a bar but then neither of them can stop thinking about the night or each other. Despite their best attempts to forget each other, fate keeps putting them in cities at the same time and a pattern emerges which just cranks up the fun of their swoon worthy c’mere c’mere get away get away dance. This well written story was delicious perfection and included witty dialogue, three dimensional characters who grow, and an engaging storyline. The book was filled with sweet moments, steamy scenes, real life issues, imperfect characters, painful pasts, dangerous situations, chuckles, messy families, mystery, and all the swoony love. This is a standalone story but do yourself a favor and read all the books because they are all good. I can’t wait to read the next story in the series and the next dragon brother to find his mate. 4.5 stars.

Lifetime of adventures

A werewolf and a dragon?! A howling yes!!!! Arson and Draydon stole my heart, but I’d give it to them if they asked. I’d give them anything they want as they are my true loves in this world. I adore them, I’m obsessed with them, and they are forever mine.

“You know we’re playing with fire.” I’m not sure if I’m trying to warn him off or test just how far his risk-taking streak really goes.
His grin widens, all of his teeth showing dangerously. “Playing with fire is my specialty.”

Getting burned has never felt so good when it involves Dray and Arson. These two are smoking hot with sizzling chemistry and a style all their own. I’m all the way in love with everything about them. From how they forged their own paths to the unforgettable way their paths crossed and kept crossing, I am helpless to resist their flame. Their vibe, their rapport, and their very essence drew me in and I don’t ever want to leave. Hands down, they are my favs. I can’t wait to see which brother falls next in this fantastic world.

I realized that my ratings for this series is slowly but surely going up and up.
I liked this one a bit more because of the scorching chemistry and passion between Arson and Draydon. 🥵
These two are a walking menace, but I just loved them so much 🥹
The raw passion they had for each other was mouthwatering 🤤
I loved the plot, loved how they came to be rivals, and how they discovered each other as the other thief lol.
The whole book can be described as a cat and mouse game, but it was actually more than that. There was a depth to their emotions, especially with all the familial conflicts and whatnot. But these two powered through everything together, and got their happily ever after. ❤️
Again and again: Lord… 🤤 that all what I’m saying…

Give credit where credit is due - When these two authors came together, they created gold for those of us who want to read something for pure entertainment.
For those who know what they want when they are reading - if you want fun and great sex combined with an interesting twist or two? If you are not interested in gut-twisting angst and unnecessary pain? If you want something with a bit of length and development, but not something that takes more than a day to read? Then this is the book for you.
Wild Fire is a vivid, full-paced book with two well-developed characters. The plot leads readers on a merry chase, and the romance is a nice mix of tension, doubt, and lust. What happens when the perfect partner for your inner and outer beast has fur?

I was waiting for this book, but damn, it was SO BORING. Repetitive, redundant and just boring. There were too many sex scenes and the story was taking forever to just move on. And at 43% pretty much nothing happened (only both characters thinking about the other one, and then getting together and having sex). I will read the next book, but I just hope is better than this.

This is a story of two like-minded black sheep who push their family's limits and live life the way they want. They are clever, sarcastic, competitive, stealthy, and adrenaline junkies. And now after a full moon rut/one-night stand, they are also finding they are obsessive and passionate.

Arson Drake is a dragon shifter. He is technically part of Drake Security but prefers his role as Robin Hood scouring the world for priceless treasures, stealing them, and then returning them to their rightful place. But he does not have the same desire to create a huge dragon hoard for himself. He has wanderlust and is often restless, but he is also witty and easygoing.

Draydon is a wolf shifter who also tends to spend time away from his pack and steal treasures, but he has an explicable need to hoard them. He is broody, intimidating, untrusting, and a loner. He has a restless itch and does not know why his wolf wants him to do the things he does.

From sharing passionate encounters to rivals trying to outdo each other in heists, these two unlikely guys find themself becoming more and more obsessed and bonding. But even they had no idea how significant their true bond could be. After all, they are different species that should repel each other...but they seem to do anything but. It's a whole Romeo and Juliet of the Supernatural world. But a secret fling is one thing, they both have stubborn, dangerous, and strong-willed family bonds to deal with. And along with that, they are also trying to solve a case that has the potential to put them all in danger.

This is a fun, steamy, forbidden romance that makes you smile and swoon. These two are just so much fun together and so well-suited. I loved seeing their wolf and dragon interact even as much as their human counterparts. It brings back all of the Drakes and a wolf pack and a whole host of other supes.

Wild Fire is the third book in the Drake Security series written by Mika Nix. Mika Nix is the combined paranormal alter egos of authors K.M. Neuhold and Mia Monroe. Wild Fire is a MM shifter romance with a guaranteed happily ever after and no mpreg. It's told from a dual first person point of view. This book can be read as a standalone, but it's better enjoyed in order. You can expect dragon shifters, wolf shifters, heists that give Ocean's Eleven a run for their money, and lots of steam and swoon.

About: Wolf shifter Draydon and dragon shifter Arson have something in common - they're both the outcasts in their family. Dray spends a lot of time away from his pack, and Arson has a sense of wanderlust without much of a hoard to show for it. After an explosive meeting at a bar during the full moon, the two can't seem to stop running into one another. It should be forbidden - wolves and dragons don't normally get along. The attraction is undeniable, and suddenly a wolf and dragon makes all the sense in the world.

This book was a little different than the first two because it featured a pair of supernaturals (supes) together, as opposed to a shifter with a human. I absolutely loved the dynamic. The steam in this book was amped up quite a bit compared to the first two, and the primality of it was Kindle-melting for sure. Arson and Dray were so different and yet the same, and I think that's why it took them so long to figure out how right they were for each other. It was cool seeing other supes in this world - especially the wolf shifters as well as the different vampires. There were definitely some storylines that I think/hope the authors will elaborate on in coming books! Again, this series is a great stepping stone into the world of shifters and all that fun stuff.

Very very steamy 🔥

Even though dragons and wolves should never mix that doesn’t stop Arson and Draydon!

It does make them hesitate but the sizzling chemistry they share has them jumping in from their very first meeting. It’s hot and primal and when it’s over they go their separate ways. It just so happens that a certain “hobby” has them bumping into each other in cities across the world and they get to enjoy each others company again and again and again.

It takes some time but eventually these two very likeable characters are honest with each other, Draydon’s pack and Arson’s family. Whilst the pack and family come to terms with the relationship Draydon and Arson enjoy not only the steamy times but also the moments of sweetness and tenderness as they discover what they mean to each other.

I enjoyed the excitement and thrill of the heists, Lake and his “power pumps” had me giggling whilst Arson and Draydon had me fanning myself. All topped off by a HEA that made my heart happy. This is a wonderful series and I can’t wait for more.

I didn't like this installment as much as the others. It's still a solid 3. Maybe even a 3.25.

Arson is a dragon with a penchant for wanderlust and thievery. Drayden is a wolf shifter with the same. They have this sort of cat and mouse dynamic where they try to get to each other's heists first. That, in and of itself, should have been entertaining. But I couldn't get into it.

It was cool that they were a bit star crossed, as wolves and dragons historically don't get along. But it really didn't feel all that important as Dray wasn't particularly upset by potentially getting disowned by his pack.

And I hated the lackadaisical way they worked the security case of the kidnapped rich kid. If the poor kid was truly in trouble who knows what would have happened to him. It seemed like the pair did a quick internet search, reached out to some of the kid's buddies on FB, then decided to have sex the rest of the day. It's not enough to keep me from reading the rest of the series. Just not my favorite couple.

Wild Fire is the third book in Mika Nix’s Drake Security series and it is my favorite so far. While the first two books follow very similar story beats, this one is really a departure in many ways and I think it makes for an exciting and fun change. The first portion of the book focuses on Draydon and Arson engaged in a bit of cat and mouse as they meet, have an explosive hookup, and then find themselves encountering one another over and over as they compete for the same jobs. The men taunt one another, have hot nights together, and then go their separate ways, only to find themselves ending up in the same place again and again. Even as Draydon and Arson are annoyed at one another, they are also incredibly drawn to each other and can’t resist reconnecting each time despite themselves.

*swoon* I just loved these two. Ugh, they were romantic but also incredibly hot together. I loved this cat and mouse game they had going on. It truly enhanced their story and set the rest of the book up wonderfully.

Arson had always been a bit of a wild card and to see him knocked off his feet by a wolf was perfection. He and Draydon had chemistry for days. Arson and Dray might just be my favorite of the series so far. I don’t see how they can be topped.

This was a home run for me. From beginning to end I was absolutely invested in seeing this dragon and wolf make it work against the odds. 5 swoony and sexy stars.

This has definitely been my favorite book of the series so far! The spicy scenes are plentiful in this book as Arson and Draydon chase each other through Europe and Egypt seeing who is the best thief. The Drake Security piece of the series comes into play lightly as Arson and Draydon's families join forces for a common cause.

another fun read in the Drake Security universe. Fun and fluffy. Loved the interaction between Arson and Draydon. The forbidden love, the loners finding their partner. Dray and Arson were sweet together while trying to deny what the meant to each other. It was fun seeing the others back in play in the story.

Audio update
Michael Ferraiuolo is and always will be a one click, buy narrator for me when paired with an author I enjoy. He just gives all books a whole new life and energy that not many narrators are able to achieve. Add to it for this book, he got to bring more heat and passion than a lot of others have previously listened to. Just an amazing audiobook cannot recommend enough.

Arson & Draydon are two souls who don't feel they fit the mold of their species, but that's what makes them made for their mates.

This is a thrilling thief vs thief tale of two men trying to find themselves after one night together they cannot seem to stay apart. Unlike the other Drake Security book, this is two separate tales that weave together until they inevitably crash together. These two men own me from the start they just get each other even when they are trying to find themselves.

This series just got immeasurably better. Wild Fire, the third in this series about a clutch of dragonshifter brothers finding their fated mates, is my favorite to date.

It’s not that I find the authors, K.M. Neuhold and Mia Monroe, have just written two really fascinating characters, it’s that I don’t remember reading anything that resembles them in another book before. And that’s even more compelling here.

A dragon who’s uncaring about assembling his own hoard , and thrives in the cities and masses away from the smothering isolation of his brothers. And a wolfshifter who has a compulsion to amass a hoard , who needs his space away from his pack, who’s more interested in his own world than his pack’s. A yin looking for their yang.

This switch in characteristics is unexpected and so narratively rewarding.

It makes for a sensational journey or hunt when both Arson Drake and Draydon start on their remarkable continental quest for art treasures and find themselves falling into a surprising relationship with each other. One that carries definite overtones of Romeo and Juliet, as dragons and wolves are enemies up to this stage.

The two person perspective works so well as Arson and Draydon fight the attraction that pulls them together from country to country, their inner beasts empowering their decisions as well. The authors writing as Nix have given the reader two powerfully defined beings that are unique and unable to stay apart. And are trying to explain to themselves why, and if it even matters anymore.

Anything outside of that narratively has to come across as being less interesting because of how rich and powerful these two are.

The elements with the vampires are necessary for being the tool to bring the Montagues and Capulets together, I mean , dragons and wolves , but it comes across as just that. A narrative tool.

Could have been anything, unless it’s going to be included in another story.

Which is set up here by bringing in a new character and younger brother from another “clutch” who’s in trouble.

Interesting but there’s still a couple of unmatched brothers from the original group needing mates. Guess Lord and Tino will have to wait.

Anyway, Wild Fire (Drake Security #3) by Mika Nix is a sure fire winner. Fabulous characters, marvelously plotted romance, and twisted personality traits I really appreciated.

It helps to read the series in order to understand the characters, the events, and the relationships. Lake especially. He’s so over the top divine!

And once again I couldn't resist and ended up reading this book. I confess that I was influenced by the positive comments and even though I was skeptical that it could be good, I took a risk.

Did I regret it? No.

But let's get to my considerations. To begin with, yes, this is the best book in the series, when we talk about better development. IN MY OPINION. I liked all the plots of the books in the series, my problem is the lack of creativity and development of the story. So, this one was better, but it was only better from the chapter in which the story is no longer shared with the chronology of the previous book and I say that because the previous book was a shame.

The authors could focus on the couple in this book, without getting bogged down in the previous book. This would definitely have given more space to tell this couple's story, without wasting their time as if they didn't know what to write and went there and did what they could.

The sex scenes were excessive. It didn't bother me, but it's another way to fill in the story when you don't know what else to write.
It had similar elements to the other books, but it was softer than the first two which was almost a copy and paste and growls. I saw so much potential wasted here. A feather.

I understand that each writer creates their own paranormal universe with their own characteristics. But I don't understand how this thing works, where destiny creates a predestined being for another and limits each species to a barrier. Does not make sense. Another thing is that the author continues in the same vein in which the companions do not recognize each other even though they smell each other, having uncontrolled sex, becoming obsessively attracted, excited to the extreme, the animals recognizing and moving forward, feeling a bond and saying that they have never felt it. nothing like it. Even with all the signs, no one recognizes their partner. This is so senseless it hurts.

The improvements in this story were the couple's chemistry, which is a delight to read. The bond they create is their need for each other, without being growls and unbridled possessiveness. The evolution in the development of the story from chapter 13 onwards (before that it's kind of the couple's point of view, on the events of the previous book (more or less)). The participation of the other characters without stealing the main couple's thunder.

I don't know if the authors intend to extend the universe, creating stories for wolves, vampires and others. But I hope there is more information about what happened to Quinn, Kaipo and Henrick. It would also be cool to see Alpha Heller, find her mate in a vampire or dragon.
