Pro/engineer Solutions & Plastics Design

Rate this book
Pro/ENGINEER Solutions and Plastic Design guides readers through practical examples of plastic components modeling, teaching robust modeling techniques and providing ?inside? tips to delivering a manufacturable design. Using a series of exercises and tutorials, readers will learn to identify and model part surfaces for injection molding, split design assemblies into components, and use analytical tools to evaluate the quality of the finished design project. Because Pro/ENGINEER CAD models designed for manufacture in plastic are less intuitive to work with, the overall philosophy of how to approach such a part design as presented in this book differs sharply from the basic building block construction techniques in other Pro/ENGINEER tutorials.

This book is out of date.. but provides a good introduction to plastic part design. Most of the book is a basic introduction to plastic part design and doesn't really cover Pro/ENGINEER. But there are helpful topics that involve Pro/ENGINEER. If you do mold design or design plastic parts that will have their mold designed in Pro/ENGINEER, then you should read this book.
