I really wanted to like this book. The author is from Indiana, and I may meet her at the Romance Writers of America conference in July.
Good: Some amusing stuff, mostly involving her expensive shoes getting ruined.
Bad:
-- Much reliance on superlatives and telling: "He was the only man who..."
-- Abrupt plot points. She suggests that he take some different photos for his ads (for which she's the model) and a couple pages letter he wants her to be his marketing director. (a) hardly follows (b), as far as I'm concerned. Also, after years of bitterness, Jack and his ex-wife resolve their relationship over a drink at the bar and part as friends. Huh? I don't think so!
