The more I read from this mangaka, the more I find a common theme. She loves to tell stories of love where people make mistakes or bad decisions. They learn from them, and they become the people they want to be. These two were feeling confused when they met. But through spending time with each other, they learned what they need. Its well done.
this one is better than Rules of Love. I'd say this is a 3.5ish. Nanako is a truly selfish character and that's why I liked her. The love interest being bisexual was a nice change, though the word is never said (him being a cheater is a tired and biphobic stereotype, but it seems like all the characters in Sakurazawa's works are cheaters so...). There's a lot of cheating and some nasty cissexism plus general internalized misogyny. Gay male best friends abound but no lesbians are to be seen, which is another common theme of Sakurazawa's. Still, I enjoyed it for what it was, and think that Sakurazawa's stories are important for being adult stories that feature sex and relationships in realistic ways. I only have a few volumes of her stuff left to read, and I'm still interested enough to continue.
Um these people suck. I’m down for people being shits but then having character development but this author just enjoys writing stories about people who are just trash and don’t change…
