She's hated me for years… now it's past time to give her a reason to.

When you are a son, and one of the heirs, to the legacy of the Cavalieri name, you need to be more vicious than your enemies.
And sometimes, the lines get blurred.

Years ago, they tried to use her as a pawn in a revenge scheme against me.
Even though I cared about her, I let them treat her as if she were nothing.
I was too arrogant and self-involved to protect her then.

But I'm here now. Ready to risk my life tracking down every single one of them.
They'll pay for what they've done as surely as I'll pay for my sins against her.

Too bad it won't be enough for her to let go of her hatred of me,
To get her to stop fighting me.
Because whether she likes it or not, I have the power, wealth, and connections to keep her by my side
And every intention of ruthlessly using all three to make her mine.

If you love the dark and twisted romantic suspense of Natasha Knight, A. Zavarelli, Charmaine Pauls, and Anna Zaires you will love this series!

Sins of the Son continues the steamy, enemies to lovers drama of the Cavalieri men with Cesare and Milana's story, and follows more of the tempestuous love affair between Barone and Amara. Scroll up and One Click now.

In my defense, none of those women were you

Yeah. Okay. That’s ^^ supposed to make me feel better? 😐🙄

It pains me to say that this will be the first ZB book I think I can’t read.

Sigh.

And, of course, she remained a virgin

I’m NOT a fan of the whole “I want her but I’m gonna sleep around” trope, ESPECIALLY when she’s a virgin/or is celibate. The whole time, he's known she's gonna be his end goal... so why TF does he sleep around? It's just 😵‍💫

😐

had to DNF at 51%, i can't read this anymore. i'm not sure if what happened here was CNC or assault, imo it's the latter.

i will never ever understand MMCs who proclaimed to be in love with the FMC for a very long time, yet fucked around so much like it was his sole purpose in life. i just can't continue reading and this was the final nail in the coffin:

"...I know you'll probably find that hard to believe given my reputation with other women in the village..."

"And Rome... Milan... probably Paris, London, Brussels..."

"In my defense, none of those women were you"

is this thinking supposed to make Milana feel better and swoon over him? seriously this is vomit and rage inducing. 😡🤮

nope i'm not doing this crap, i'm out.

Having grown up together, Cesare Cavalieri and Milana Carbone had been the best of friends despite their stations. Just as their friendship was morphing into more, an incident changed Milana and ruined their relationship. For years, she’s been harboring resentment and hatred toward him. With her forced nearness, he’s prepared to use all means necessary to find out where he went wrong.

I knew from Barone and Amara’s story that Milana was going to be a hellcat and I was not disappointed. She is fierce and sassy, sexy and loyal, determined and a little bit broken. Cesare owned his mistakes and pulled no punches. Prepared to slay her demons and prove his devotion by hunting down everyone who her hurt (and diçking her down) was alpha AF.

The dichotomy of Zoe’s work always amuses me. Her descriptions are vivid and nearly poetic. While the filth could make a wh0rė blush. For this alone, she’s a favorite. Combined with the fact that her stories and characters are never just surface deep, she has solidified herself as a one-click author.

The writing was mesmerizing even if the book starts with the hero raping her and if she orgasmed doesn't make it seem less than rape.

This is the pathetic trope where the Hero fucks around and the heroine stays celibate. The heroine is 24 and she still is— was a virgin— gets raped by the hero

The hero is a manwhore who fucked every girl in town but her since he knew there was no one but her and only her. He was in love with her. I didn't know it was a second-chance romance aka the trope where the hero gets away with cheating and whoring around while the heroine cries for them.

He says he slept with a lot of women in a lot of countries and she has heard of them too. But in defense, any of them wasn't her.

Really? I'm out...

Wow!!!!
These Cavalieri men are so fucking sinful !!!!!! If you thought Barone the patriarch of the family was intense wait till you read Sins Of Son!!! Cesare Cavalieri is a total alpha and very dominant in and out of the bedroom! And what he wants he gets and he's waited a long time for the beautiful and fierce Milana! In high school they were close friends and just on the cusp of something beautiful when Milana is lured on Valentine's day to meet secretly with Cesare but she is attacked and left locked in a closet scared and injured. She doesn't know who the men were or the woman who hurt her but they made it sound like Cesare was behind the attack. For 7 years Milana has put on a brave face owning being a boss bitch but the memories of that night and the attack leaves her with terrible nightmares and her hatred for Cesare has grown and she wants nothing to do with him! Cesare has had enough! He doesn't know why Milana looks at him with fear and pain ! He has loved her and wanted her in his bed for years! She will be not only his wife but also the mother of his children. The gloves are off and she can fight him tooth and nail all she wants but he will own every kiss and climax because Cavalieri men don't stop till your theirs forever. The chemistry and sex was steamy hot!!! Their were quite a few scenes that had me glued to my kindle and left me soaked!! I never thought I'd be one of those women who would like getting their ass spanked but....... Maybe if it was a Cavalieri man I might like iit!!!😂 Also Cesare going solo in front of Milana gave a whole new meaning to voyerism!!! I was speechless in a good way!! Zoe Blake is a fantastic writer and this series is awesome! I love these characters and especially aunt Gabriella she is without a doubt a fabulous and unique character that I hope gets her own book! It seems her and the handsome Alfonso have a secret past!!!! Their is a lot going on in this book and twists and turns and a big cliffhanger at the end!!! We get a little more backstory about how Enzo ended up with Renata the wife from hell! Can't stand this bitch and especially after what she did!! Enzo's book Secrets Of the Brother comes out in July!!!! Can't wait to read!! Between Zoe's writing and Wander Aguiar's photography covers this is my new favorite guilty pleasure series of 2023!!! Until next time Luv's💕💋

We got some bits of this couple in book 1 and Milana hates Cesare for what he did to her years ago in school he betrayed her so she hates him and doesn't want anything to do with him which is hard since who her best friend is dating. And how he forced her to live in the villa and work for them. Milana isn't giving in she has stuck to her guns and ignored Cesare no matter what he has tried or done.

Cesare is tired of all the pushing away Milana is his future wife and he's going to knock down every wall she build between them. It takes awile for him to break down the walls before she puts them back up again. We get delicious angry sex, "bets" and other games they try to play against eachother.

● Cesare inherited the steamroller gene from his father Barone. But while Barone originally thought he could have 'just a fling' with Amara - Cesare is all-in from the beginning! He's so determined to wife Milana, it almost gives fated-mates energy.
● Like before, the audiobook was great, and hearing the Italian phrases & accents really made it more immersive. That said, the male narrator's voice didn't work quite as well for a 24 year old MMC.
⊱───────༻⊰🍇⊱༺───────⊰

As much as I loved this book, I'm so glad I read spoilers first, or I would've been at my wit's end way before the reveal:

Seven years ago, something bad happened to Milana, and she's hated Cesare (her former childhood friend) ever since. Every time he asks why she hates him, she only replies "You know!"

You can read the whole flashback in Chapter , but here's the gist...

They were close longtime friends up until that point,

hot guy sniffing grapes
these grapes were grown from their tears
⊱───────༻⊰🍇⊱༺───────⊰

I'm not a big fan of a "I've always loved you but still sowed my wild oats" MMC, especially when paired with a virgin FMC - but hear me out - it actually made sense here.

First, he tried to reach out, but he was a teen boy hurt and confused by her sudden hatred and, eventually, gave up hope.

Second, she stayed celibate due to her trauma - not because she was mooning over the MMC all that time.

🚦 Safety (spoilers):
» 𝙢𝙖𝙞𝙣 𝙥𝙪𝙧𝙨𝙪𝙚𝙧: Definitely MMC!
» 𝙤𝙬/𝙤𝙢/𝙤𝙥: Just some brief moments of jealous, mostly from the MMC. At one point
» 𝙥𝙪𝙨𝙝/𝙥𝙪𝙡𝙡/𝙖𝙣𝙜𝙨𝙩: Milana pushes away a lot, which made sense given what she believed. Tons of angst because they both have so many ✨feelings✨
» 𝙨𝙚𝙥𝙖𝙧𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣:
» 𝟯𝙧𝙙 𝙖𝙘𝙩 𝙬𝙤𝙗𝙗𝙡𝙚: No breakup.
» 𝙚𝙣𝙙𝙞𝙣𝙜: HFN.
» ⚠ 𝐂𝐖𝐬: While the tone of this book isn't extremely dark - more juicy and melodramatic - it still qualifies as Dark Romance:

"The moment they laid a hand on you, they sealed their fate. And while they can thank God for a few extra years on this earth, the devil’s justice is coming. This is not up for discussion, babygirl. It’s very simple. They hurt you. And now they’re going to pay for it.”

« »
"She thinks I’m taking over her problem and handling it myself while being an overprotective bully.”

Enzo raised his eyebrows. “Well… yeah. You’re a Cavalieri man. It’s kind of our thing.”

I gestured toward him. “Thank you. Mind telling her that?”

« »
“Shhh, babygirl. Let me take care of you.” He reached around and unhooked my bra. After pulling it off me, he gently took my wrists and raised my arms. My eyes closed as I was engulfed in soft, cozy fabric.

I looked down to see I was wearing one of his old football jerseys. It was so worn, the lettering on the front was hard to read. “I have my own clothes, you know.”

His voice sounded far away as he leaned in to whisper against my ear, “Yes, but I prefer you in mine.”

He squeezed my breast as he flicked my clit with the tip of his tongue. “Jesus Christ, Milana, come on my mouth, baby, so I can fuck you senseless.”

Story: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Trope: second chance
Angst: 😱😱.5
Smexy: 🔥🔥🔥

Absolutely loved it - probably my favorite Zoe Blake since Sweet Cruelty and that's saying a lot! Sins of the Son is fast paced and a bit more emotional than I was expecting. Milana has a lot of unresolved angst and scorn for Cesare about a mysterious incident in her past that caused them to go from best friends to bitter enemies - at least in Milana's eyes. I loved how strong of a character Milana is, she's definitely not someone who can be bossed around easily and with how OTT Cesare is, it made for great push and pull between the two of them. Cesare is single-mindedly determined to change their relationship status - despite Milana's feelings on the matter, lol, and will do anything to win the girl he's always wanted. Truly loved this one and I'll definitely be getting a hard copy for my shelves. I'm super excited for Enzo's book, it was set up perfectly!

Sins of the Son is the second book in the Cavieri Billionaire Legacy series by Zoe Blake. It is told in first person, from dual perspective. Sins of the Son is a complete standalone, but best enjoyed when read in series order.

I loved scandals of the father by Zoe Blake and I loved as cesare and milana too! I was so curious what cesare did to piss milana off so much and the angst and curiosity kept me reading.....and the spanking and ott jealous peeenis kept me entertained 😂

There are chapters here and there with cesares dad barone from book 1 which I loved to see and

This is a Zoe Blake book so....you know cesare is going to go full caveman on milana. And it ends with much drama so if that bothers you, be prepared (a la scar from the lion king)

We finally understand Milana and her hatred for her high school bff/love interest, Cesare Cavalieri.

I’ve been dying to know what her strong emotions were about and her complete distain for Cesare and and as the story unraveled… oh my god. I get it. I get her and I freaking love her. She made Cesare work for the love and affection she deserved. This book while obviously spicy was also quite angsty. You have two people who have clearly loved eachother for years - going through some tough shit.
Cesare, for seven years, never understood why Milana abruptly ended all contact with him, and visibly couldn’t stand to even be near him.

Milana, for seven years has held onto a secret that created distrust, ptsd, nightmares, and so much heartache.

When the truth is revealed- it starts off a quest to solve a mystery that’s been lurking in the shadows unnoticed for seven years.

It’s an intense book. Two strong willed people battling out their wants and needs.
Don’t forget - Cesare is a Zoe Blake character. Her men don’t take no for an answer. At all.

We see all the characters from book one, and new ones too!
I’m excited for seeing more of Bianca! The Cavalieri men are so damn hot. I wish I was in Italy under one of these brothers… 😈

Childhood friends to enemies to lovers.

She’s a v. He’s been a hoe. Miscommunication leads her to being tortured thinking he orchestrated it.

She hates him. He doesn’t care. All this happens in past. NO OW. No on page other women smex or drama.

Just not for me. I hate books where the H has sowed his wild oats before settling down and says things like- she’s perfect to carry my family name and legacy forward.

It’s not romantic. It’s cheap.

There’s dub-con…

1 star increased to 2 because I did keep reading to 80%.
Note to self: hero repeatedly rapes heroine first half of book. Author tried to spin it that she orgasmed so she obviously subconsciously wanted it. That’s a hell no from me. Rape is rape. I like alpha makes. Not controlling (in a bad way) rapists.

5 Sinful Stars!

Sins of the Son is the second book in the Cavalieri Billionaire Legacy series and we finally get to learn why Milana "hates" Cesare so much. Cesare is determined to smash down every wall she throws up and show her that they're end game.

"I may currently be the monster in her dreams, but I was determined to become the knight who slayed them."

In true Zoe fashion, the word "no" does not hold a place in Cesare's vocabulary and plays dirty to get what he has always wanted - Milana. Milana isn't a wall flower and won't be pushed around and gives it back just as hard. I loved the two of them together and all that unfolded. This was action packed, steamy steamy and just perfection.

"She was no longer just mine; she was a part of me. My heart wouldn’t beat without her. Her air was my air. I wanted her blood to beat in my veins."

I loved this and I loved reading POVs from Amara and Daddy Barone again. I can't wait for Enzo's story!

This series, Cavalieri Billionaire Legacy, is getting better with each book and I am already itching with excitement over the next book with Enzo’s story. Sins of The Son was a dreamy friends to enemies to lovers romance involving the all enigmatic Cesare Cavalieri and the fierce siren, Milana. Their push and pull was drool-worthy and their intense and somewhat forceful approach to their first intimacy was panty melting just like all other Zoe Blake masterpieces. The underlying secondary plot since the first book is still going strong with secrets and gives this enticing story an added layer of suspense and mystery. I hope the Secrets of The Brother comes out sooner rather than later.

”When I get you home, I’m tying you naked to my bed and fucking this beautiful mouth of yours until you beg me to come on your tits. Then I’m going to lick your pussy until you come at least twice. And that’s just to get you warmed up,” I said with a wink.

Yep, this book is just as good as the first. Also, you absolutely must read them in order. There is so much continuation of Amara and Barone’s story and surprisingly it fits so well. Normally once a couple’s book is finished I don’t want to hear too much about them.

This is a story of misrepresentation and assumptions from both of our mc’s. Cesare is done waiting though and wants answers.

There are some insider highlights that absolutely delighted me regarding Tori Amos, so much coffee and wine porn, fashion for days (why are these women so effortlessly chic?!) and breed kink 😏

Cesare entered the dressing room and placed my latte macchiato on the vanity next to my makeup brushes.

I put Tori Amos’s Little Earthquakes on my phone as I dressed.

After spending my entire adult life taking every precaution never to get a woman pregnant, tonight, for the first time, I had taken a woman bareback, without even a thought of putting on a condom. I actually hoped, no prayed, I had gotten Milana pregnant tonight.

I’m ready to start more from Zoe after I’m caught up in the series. Chefs kiss to this dark and horny author!

Cesare was an unapologetic steamroller and made this book feel like a Harlequin Presents book amped up to the max. I loved the soapy telenovela drama, and the dubcon/reluctance dynamic between Cesare and Milana was 😯🥵. The male narrator did not sound 24 years old, but he gave a very engaging performance on the audiobook. 😏

What I liked less was the second half of the book, which had a lot of “why do you hate me??” and “you know what you did!!”, then rinse and repeat. (Background: Cesare and Milana were friends in high school, until The Betrayal.) I was still enjoying the story, but wanted less push-and-pull and more of the “my wife” business.

5 stars for the first half, 3 stars for the rest.

P.S. There were a few chapters from other character’s POV. I’m normally not a fan of that, but it kind of added to the soapy vibe of this book.

And so are the days of this Italian winemaker family’s lives…

Thank you Zoe for this ARC 💜

Wow! Just...wow. I do have to say, this was better than the first book, and I absolutely cannot wait for the next book!!

At first, Milana really drove me nuts. Yes, she's a strong woman, but it took her waaaayy long to realize Cesare wasn't the villain she swore for long that he was. I was relieved when she finally realized.

Cesare... What a man! He was written so damn well. Damn!! 😂. The Cavaliere men are *chef's kiss* ❤

What a cliffhanger!! I'm so damn invested in how this storyline ends. Honestly, I was happy about Renata's fate, and am curious how Enzo and Bianca get along going forward. Will she see how her sister truly was? God I hope so...

The spice and sexiness was off the charts in this book. So was the sexual tension between Milana and Cesare. I hope things stay amazing for them moving forward and their chance for their own family wasn't stolen by that witch!

I'll sit here impatiently waiting for the next book 😂😂

THIS HAS BEEN MY FAVORITE SMUT

AND I HAVE READ A LOT OF REALLY REALLYYY GOOD SMUT

This tickled every nerve ending in my Italian American brain and each feminine hormone in my body. I think I’m pregnant now

This is a FAMILY smut, I hated that part but the strong family ties of love and caring were unparalleled, rivaling all desire, even for the gorgeous, protective, determined, handsome, billionaire boyfriend who wants desperately to be the salt of the earth.

The 🌶️ starts 5% into the book, and it started WILD

Milana (24) and Ceaser(24) were childhood friends. But something happened to Milana 7 years ago that made her hate him. He is very over the top wealthy, possessive and determined to get her back. 🥂 The mystery was an okay side plot. But my heart broke for Milana. She was dealt a shitty hand at life but had so much dignity. 👑

Two complaints: First, it was way too long than it needed to be. Second, the "she was virgin, he slept with every living girl in the continent" trope. I understand why she chose to be single. But why was he sleeping around if he knew from an early age how much he wanted her? Isn't it way past time to retire this trope? Although once he decided he wanted her back, Milana was his only thought from then on. So I guess we have that.

Nary a consent or content warning to be found

I read a lot of dark romances looking for the rare combination of intelligent writing and characters who are dark/twisted but don’t cross the line of consent. I checked the author’s website for content warnings and found none, so allow me:
The Cavalieri series is about disadvantaged women being targeted by a family of predators who repeatedly r@pe, $exually torture, and otherwise abuse said women under the guise of “passion.” The author attempts to distract the reader from the frequent r@pe scenes with descriptions of rich decor, high-end clothing, jewelry, booze, etc., but it comes across as a cringey attempt at name-dropping. The Cavalieri’s victims quickly come to accept the delusion that they are in loving relationships with their tormentors, think they deserve to be r@ped and whipped for every attempt to think or act independently, and even feel guilty for their previous attempts to reason with and escape from their r@pists. Absurdly, the victims believe themselves to be strong and independent women because they occasionally question the unconscionable behavior of their captors. Beyond these issues, the storyline is weak and predictable. The villains are so stupid and obvious that the the only reason they weren’t caught in chapter one of book one is because the “heroes” are too focused on controlling and r@ping their victims to notice what’s being said and done right in front of them. There are multiple occasions where a character is shocked by the same revelation a second time as if the first time never happened. It’s also weird to read American phrasing and terminology spoken by native Italian characters in a story set in Italy. Obviously we who only speak English need our books written in English, but the dialogue as written would be far better suited to native Texans who happen to know a bit of Italian. The reason I gave two stars instead of one is that I’ve stumbled across even worse writing than this in kindle unlimited. The end.

DNF No Means No and Rape is Rape.

A MMC can not come back from the fact that he rapes the MFC in the first few chapters of a book and continues to do so for the first half of the book. He has whored around the entire time they have been apart "even though she was always the one for him" and she stayed celibate. She is 24 and was a virgin before Caesar rapes her. I am not sure why this got positive ratings, but it just boils down to personal taste and enjoyment. OTT MMC's and spineless heroines are a hard no for me. Their characters must have a purpose and something redeemable about them. MFC's need to be more than a submissive sex toy and the MMC's need to have some redeemable qualities.

This is a sad, pathetic story line whereas the author tries to make rape seem erotic and oh so sexy. He is physically abusive to her during sex even though she is new to "kinks" thinking only about himself but telling himself she wants it. Those words have been echoed by many rapists as a way of justifying a means to an end.

I am an avid reader of this genre and have read some really dark, erotic, deeply scarred characters in these novels whereas the writing is very good and the storyline and choice of characters is well thought out and presented to the reader. The writing wasn't bad but the storyline lacked substance and the characters were very unremarkable. There are plenty of good writers in this genre who know how to write a good solid story line that offers readers plenty of erotica, danger, suspense sex and an eventual love story.

Don't understand time sequences. Milana and Cesare live in same village and have strong feelings they don't yield to for seven years. She is a virgin but he assaults and rapes her on their first close encounter since high school.
Enzo is stinky rich alpha male but can't get personal physicians to test and see if his wife is actually pregnant which he doubted even in book one.
Author does not maintain fluidity of story in book two. There are loose ends and unanswered questions. Book is full of descriptions of food and other things in Italian which author again fails to interpret so lose thread of story. Somehow this book is not vintage Zoe Blake based on prior books I have read. Milan's trip to Rome was a nonentity.

Totally devoured this book! You will need to read the first book as this one provides spoilers and may not make sense completely if you haven’t read the first book. I really wanted to know why Milana hated Cesare and now I know. Really great story and romance. It’s complicated but has a happy ending. Nice intro and build up to Enzo and Bianca’s story. Can’t wait!
