Honestly this book had me pretty much right from the get-go. I can only compare the suspense to that of a Clive Cussler book. Every step of the way, you wonder what happens next, and Coral dose'nt disappoint. From one moment to the next you never know what’s going to happen with Lily. The book has left us with as many questions as one could wish. What was the money really for? Who did who wrong? Was Mr. Borsch really the bad guy? Where did Lily's mother go? Who really is Ryan Marlow? Was this entire book a setup for what the girls wanted? Tune in for book two
4 ⭐️ Marlowe Beach North Carolina Was cute, it’s a series each book is very short could have been combined to less books 4 friends who grow up together. Emily is getting married to Ryan Marlow whos family the town is names after. Lily was Emily’s best friend and lived with Emily at there mansion. She is a podcaster of murder mystery’s. Chole is a career minded lawyer. Ava is a social worker that works with the homeless. Lily comes back for Emily’s wedding, she hasn’t been there for years. Emily’s family is very wealthy and this is the weeding of the Century. Lily gets there and can’t get cell service ends up out in the woods and runs into a guy and they kind of flirt. That night at the festivities she learns this is Emily’s fiancé. She is the loner of the group goes out on the balcony and watches, Ryan comes to meet her. He begins to plant this mystery of what is happening in the town. Someone buying up land. She again goes to the woods and runs into her dad, who had ruined her childhood. He tells her that Emily’s dad owes him money that he better pay or he’ll make a seen. Lily and Ryan meet several times in the woods, Chole begins to think something is up. Then Emily finds them in the woods Ryan tells her what’s going on. Lily talks to her. She calls off the wedding because it wasn’t the wedding she wanted it was just a big show her parents were putting on. Lily takes her to the run down green house they use to play in and she always said she would get married there. Ryan is there and all there friends and they have candles all over they marry there. Then Lily leaves and goes back to NY.
Loved the first book as it was so long and the storyline went throughout and loved the ending. Personally believe it could stand alone if needed to. Also, feel in love with all of the 'Sisters' especially Lily. She has not had an easy life and found great respect and admiration for Emily's and Ryan's characters for standing up against the 'silver spoon' they were both born into. They seem like good partners, but also realize they maybe think this is the best they can do.
Series is off to great start and anxious to see who the next book or story is about and hope the 'Sisters' are in each of the books. Great description of what they all look like, especially Ryan, and felt like I could walk write into where they would be standing and be part of the scene. Always a nice feature in a story.
I received an early copy for my honest and voluntary review.
I expected this book to be a frothy rom-com (nothing wrong with that). What a surprise. The Summer Wedding Book 1 starts the series about 4 childhood friends coming together for the perfect wedding of their perfect friend Emily and her perfect groom Ryan. Lily, who lived with Emily as they were growing up, is the star of the book. She loves Emily and their other friends Chloe and Ava. Lily has unresolved issues from her childhood, and they come to the forefront when she steps back into her hometown. The story contains an unexpected mystery and lots of twists and suspense. I did not see the ending coming. Just ordered Book 2. Plan to binge read the series. Excellent writing, unique story, and lots of suspense.
This is book 1 in The Summer Wedding series. The Summer Wedding is about four best friends, Lily, Emily, Ava, and Chloe, who have been best friends since childhood. Lily had moved to the city, but she is back in her hometown, helping plan Emily's wedding. Being back has brought back a lot of memories for Lily, but she is there to reconnect with her friends. There are a lot of things going on for them all, and things aren't going the way it should, which will keep you reading. I was surprised at the twists and turns, because I was expecting just a carefree summer wedding. Was I surprised. I received an ARC from Coral Harper.
The first book in the serie which tells us story about four friends who met after long time for wedding of one of them. Everything seems perfectly planned for Emily's big day but than one of the bridesmaids, during her escapes to woods to talk by phone, meet there with the groom. What's going on? Is everything will go as it was planned? Take the book and find out.
This is the first of a new series. It’s your typical four friends getting ready for one of the girl’s rather grand (or not) wedding. But then there are all the twists & turns. And there’s Lily (not the bride) keep meeting in the woods with the groom! What’s going on here? Read Book 2 next. I received an Advanced Reader Copy & I am writing a voluntary honest review.
Lily is back home for her best friend’s wedding. She hoped she would not see her father, but he shows up and demands money to keep from ruining the wedding. Great start to a new series by Coral Harper. This first book is packed with remembrances of childhood and pomp and circumstance of the wedding her parents wanted for Emily and Ryan. Can’t wait to see what book two holds.
Four best friends are the main characters of this story. Lily, Emily, Ava and Chole are all entangled in their lives together from falling in love to secrets , making difficult decisions. Their warm-hearted story is a great read as it tells of them supporting each other through all their problems. I am on the ARC team and leave a honest review. I recommend this book to other readers.
Good book. I was given an ARC and asked to review it. The author really did a great job of telling the story succinctly, with good dialogue and lots of action. I’m looking forward to book 2 in this series!
What a great way to start a series! Hooked me from page 1 and it left me in suspense waiting for book 2. I did not see the conclusion coming. It is well written with twists and turns until the very last page. Ready for book 2.
Four lifetime friends: Ava, Chloe, Lily, and Emily, return to the island where they grew up for Emily's wedding. It has been a bit since they have been together, but the friendship is still strong. Each have their own lives, some great, and some not so great. There is a bit of intrigue here as someone is buying up property like crazy on the island, but no one knows directly who. Lily keeps meeting the groom is really strange places, which is weird in itself. Coral Harper knows her writing and how to hook one into the story. Cannot wait to read book two! Received an advance reader copy from Ms. Harper, but the opinions and review of this book are my own.
